The Scottish Government's consultation on changes to the GRA closes on 1st March 2018.

The rest of the UK will likely follow Scotland's decision, so this is your chance to make your views known.

For those who don't yet understand the risks to women from changes to the Gender Recognition Act, please read this document. It is pretty straightforward

leyaterra.wordpress.com/2018/02/06/gender-the-gra-and-womens-rights/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

Then please complete the Scottish Government's consultation.

You do NOT have to be Scottish or live in Scotland to complete it.

The brilliant Dr Nic Williams wrote a guide to the consultation

PLEASE complete it and pass to friends/family

If it is a committee of 12 with an equal gender split how do we know if 6 of them were actually born female

Well we all know it will be less than 50% female because all policy making is put through by less than 50% female voices.

It will only take one MTF on the committee anyway, to dominate the whole the argument writing everything women say off as "transphobic", throwing around untrue stats about how trans are the most victimised ever and telling us to stfu and do what they want. I have heard all the arguments.
"Women may be concerned about [real thing that happened] but all Trans people can't be punished because of the actions of a few bad people"
And because they appropriate language from other liberation movements their arguments sound coherent.

I very much expect there is at lest one mtf on the committee as this policy is all about them afterall

I wouldn't be surprised if gender critical responses (from this thread alone I haven't counted but it's around 300 people) and responses from people against self-ID outweighed those in favour, but are all dismissed as transphobic. Therefore invalid.

I have heared that self-ID is a done deal in Scotland and in the Labour party regardless of women's concerns.... but we still need to shout about it. When it all hits the fan and implodes dramatically (10 years or so) we can at least feel like we tried.

Again - please complete it doesnt have to take long

OOAOML · 19/02/2018 11:42

Finally got round to mine.

TruScum · 19/02/2018 11:48

Done.

This is currently complete insanity, how did anyone even write those questions and keep a straight face. The divorce question was mind boggling and terrifying.

If there is a transtrender on the panel I’m sure they will be frothing at the mouth at my ‘Truscum’ replies.

This has to end. I’m clinging to the hope that rationality and truth will prevail.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 19/02/2018 21:51

Absolutely, TruScum. We have to try.

I wonder sometimes whether some women are sleepwalking through their lives, secure in their limited knowledge that this is currently not impacting them... and on the horizon, those clouds are really darkening.

On the plus side, if it gets really, really bad then women will have to rise up and be counted, because the 'up close and personal' alternative, will be unthinkable even for the heaviest 'sleeper'.

It's shocking, it really is.

I've replied to this and posted it on my facebook. Only women seem to give a shit though. Anyone have any men care about this - not just because you rant about it to them, and then they reluctantly agree with you but because they actually care?

I get blank looks if I try, from both males and females. I think people are generally not looking into it and just think "eh?"

"I get blank looks if I try, from both males and females. I think people are generally not looking into it and just think "eh?""

I think that it isn't people not looking into it. I think they've looked into it and think 'meh'.

No one I know in real life cares about this and it isn't because they don't understand.

Please read it and fill it in - I'm so worried about this, we (women) are sleepwalking into a nightmare. We will all be affected!

BeyondTerfyCassandra · 23/02/2018 12:28

Bump. Got DH to fill it in too, so everyone else should see who else lives in their house who could do it. Might do it from the kids too...
