The Scottish Government's consultation on changes to the GRA closes on 1st March 2018.

The rest of the UK will likely follow Scotland's decision, so this is your chance to make your views known.

For those who don't yet understand the risks to women from changes to the Gender Recognition Act, please read this document. It is pretty straightforward

Then please complete the Scottish Government's consultation.

You do NOT have to be Scottish or live in Scotland to complete it.

The brilliant Dr Nic Williams wrote a guide to the consultation

PLEASE complete it and pass to friends/family

If it wasn’t for mumsnet and my dh banging on about the demise of women’s sport ( and he’s not a scaremongering or even liberal type) then I’d have no idea.

If it wasn't for MN I'd have no idea either - it's only when I looked into it further that it hits.

SwanVests Sport was so important to me, as a child. What is happening to your daughter and others, is so wrong and so unfair. It makes my blood boil.

If you want to do something about it, you could try writing to Margot James MP (see her website). She is the Minister of State and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, and she recently re-tweeted a Janice Turner article (Janice Turner is Times journalist and at the forefront of the fight we are facing).

Not finished reading the thread yet, but just wanted to say that I've done it now. I did have a bit of a rant at the end, but the way the questions were done really annoyed me!

Thank you to all the posters who've done a great job explaining all this. I used to be a why can't we all live together type of person, but the threads on here have really opened my eyes on what is at stake here.

Kimlek · 17/02/2018 00:39

Completed with lots of comments. Thank you for highlighting as would have missed this.

Another request. I’m still plugging away at a response and hoping to meet with school next week.

I want to suggest further consultation with lesbian groups but I am well aware that stonewall et all are compromised. Are there any organisations that can advocate for biologically female lesbians which are not infiltrated? Also is there any academic literature/ reporting on the cotton ceiling phenomenon that I can refer to? It looks a bit sketchy to assert it with no evidence.

Equally I don’t want to be sending them into the arms of stonewall to research it

BlindYeo · 18/02/2018 00:45

Done.

Mybrows · 18/02/2018 00:53

Done. It's absolute insanity. I'm scared for my daughters' futures.
