Shop:

  1. Blackcurrant
  2. Seedless raspberry
  3. Strawberry

Homemade:

  1. Damson
  2. Gooseberry
  3. Strawberry

DC contend that strawberry tops both lists Hmm

Clearly I am NBU. Strawberry jam is good jam but definitely not best.

Blackcurrant is definitely my favourite. Very nice in a Victoria sandwich with buttercream.

I like apricot too, but not in cakes.

What's the point of the seeds in raspberry jam? It's not like other jams where you get tasty fruit bits. It's just manky seeds that catch in your teeth and taste horrid if you accidentally bite one.

diodati · 06/02/2018 20:58

Raspberry. With seeds.

fabulousfrumpyfeet · 06/02/2018 21:01

Gooseberry or fig. I want to try rose petal now though.

Caterpillarx1 · 06/02/2018 21:01

Strawberry

Areyoufree · 06/02/2018 21:02

Cloudberry.

iwant2know · 06/02/2018 21:15

Pineapple jam!

humblesims · 06/02/2018 21:27

Definitely blackcurrant.
When I was a kid, definitely strawberry

AdaColeman · 06/02/2018 21:33

Apricot to go with anything chocolatey.

Black cherry or fig to go with cheese.

Strawberry on scones.

Blueberry on toast,

My granny's Victoria plum jam recipe

Vinorosso74 · 06/02/2018 21:54

Raspberry. Home made strawberry is yummy-shop bought not so much.
We go fruit picking every year pick up a huge copper jam pan from FIL on way home and make jam with some of our spoil the next day.

Mulberry jam is the best! If I knew someone with a mulberry tree I would offer to make jam.
Wilkins of Tiptree make a limited amount of mulberry every year. It's delicious.

I like raspberry jam with seeds in. I make it like that.

Sgtmajormummy · 06/02/2018 22:34

For me, having a variety of bought jams is a sign that we’re doing well and can afford the luxury of choice. There have been times when we could only afford a single jar of own-brand. Usually strawberry and that’s why I don’t choose it now.

We currently have:
Marmalade (2 types)
Jam (fig, fruit of the forest, peach and THAT raspberry)
All at different stages. They’re like a security blanket.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 06/02/2018 22:36

Bought: raspberry
Apricot
Black currant

Home made has to be blackberry and apple.

Helspopje · 06/02/2018 22:37

Sour cherry
Cloudberry
Ginger preserve

Helspopje · 06/02/2018 22:38

Oh and my daughter's plum and cinnamon

HicDraconis · 06/02/2018 22:39

Shop: Boysenberry (it’s the best) closely followed by 3 berry (boysenberry, blackcurrent, strawberry) and honourable third place to raspberry.

Homemade - 3 berry (if I’ve been to the PYO), or plum (if my tree has behaved itself).

ScrambledSmegs · 06/02/2018 22:42

Mulberry. I would love my own tree.

Chesntoots · 06/02/2018 22:43

Blackcurrant.

I even go through the cupboards trying to find something to put it on to stop myself just spooning it out of the jar... I rarely buy it because I know it will keep calling me until it is all gone.

HomerDancing · 06/02/2018 22:44

Plum or apricot

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 06/02/2018 22:46

Raspberry.
Then Blackcurrant.
Obvs.

JaneJeffer · 06/02/2018 22:54

Raspberry
