When I heard that Katie Hopkins was heading down to South Africa, I nearly through up. I felt sick to the stomach. And then I thought, well if she's going for a Safari, it's not so bad. ( we do encourage tourism to help with conservation and jobs).
It turned out that that was not the case. Ms Hopkins visit to South Africa is to make a documentary for the farmers, " who are being terrorised by the blacks and being robbed of their rightful land". ( words by Ms Hopkins).

A petition was started to refuse her entry, however for some reason, she made it.
This morning I heard she collapsed after taking some drug, lord knows for what. She was saved by health workers some of them BLACK South Africans. I wonder what she thought of that!

For a woman who referred to black people as roaches among other sickening racist garbage to enter South Africa and speak and act as she wishes is quite frankly sickening.

I am angry and I know I speak for many. Angry

Detained by the S.A authorities for spreading hate speech a few days after collapsing in the street from taking ketamine.

To be fair she does appear to take ketamine for pain caused by dislocating her shoulders during epileptic fits.

She is an absolute shit, but maybe shouldn't be mocked for the things she can't change about herself when there are so many other options.

Well said lurker
When people are condemning her for spreading falsehoods it would be good to get facts straight and it seems this thread has been wrong from the start. She did not take ketamine recreationally, it was administered for a dislocation caused by her epilepsy
She has now left South Africa apparently so is no doubt on her way back to brighten our days here Hmm

Being detained for spreading racial hatred is surely just an occupational hazard if you're a racist.

BTW not all white south Africans supported apartheid. When I was out there I met a lovely white couple who had helped the ANC. There is a debate to be had on redistribution of assets. Otherwise they will stay concentrated in one part of the population. But that is for South Africa to address. Perhaps they'll get a decent president soon.

I'm not defending her in anyway, and I have not seen what she has said or filmed over there, but she has followed up other people filming documentaries over there talking about the same subject, Reggie Yates and Louis Theroux immediately spring to mind, but the current situation in SA is tinderbox waiting to go, unfortunately.

I think it's fair to day Hopkins documentary will be coming with a very particular bias. 'White genocide' I believe is a favoured phrase of hers.

Oh, I agree and I'm no fan of hopkins but there is a pendulum swing and a lot of racial/political problems that are happening in SA at the minute, Reggie yates and others have touched on it as well.

But if reports are correct, www.iol.co.za/news/south-africa/gauteng/saps-denies-uk-journalist-was-detained-at-or-tambo-13135470

it could be it was a publicity stunt and everyone has jumped on the hate bandwagon a bit too early.

Not a huge fan of KH (slight understatement) however if she's drawing attention to this - and the rest of the awful level of crime in SA - good. DH's uncle and Aunt were farmers in SA and were murdered most brutally a couple of years ago.

Beautiful country but still so many divides - I pray it gets better Sad, but probably not with her shit being peddled.
