When I heard that Katie Hopkins was heading down to South Africa, I nearly through up. I felt sick to the stomach. And then I thought, well if she's going for a Safari, it's not so bad. ( we do encourage tourism to help with conservation and jobs).
It turned out that that was not the case. Ms Hopkins visit to South Africa is to make a documentary for the farmers, " who are being terrorised by the blacks and being robbed of their rightful land". ( words by Ms Hopkins).

A petition was started to refuse her entry, however for some reason, she made it.
This morning I heard she collapsed after taking some drug, lord knows for what. She was saved by health workers some of them BLACK South Africans. I wonder what she thought of that!

For a woman who referred to black people as roaches among other sickening racist garbage to enter South Africa and speak and act as she wishes is quite frankly sickening.

I am angry and I know I speak for many.

Yes again to feel for her poor children - I don't know what mothering she does to her children but her views stink and her children will be witness to this.

The cockroaches analogy was particularly appaling as in Rwanda, the Hutus were incited to ‘kill the Tutsis, they are cockroaches’. Don’t tell me Hopkins didn’t know know that. It was a quite deliberate choice of language on her part.

She's had her passport confiscated and been prevented from leaving SA due to spreading racial hatred.

I loathe this woman and feel embarrassed she is from England, like me. Please know that although there are other people like her, many others feel the same about this woman and her views. I don't know why she gets the publicity she does

She is also spectacularly stupid - I mean, she got so 'confused' between Laurie Penney and Jack Monroe that she had to pay up damages to the latter in the region of £140k not long ago. I mean, getting two completely separate individuals completely mixed up is pretty fucking dumb, no? Doh!

How many libel cases has she lost now? and how much £££ have her ex - employers had to shell out on the damages? Doh! I mean , to lose one libel case is a bit of bad luck. To lose three or four (or more) clearly means you are seriously stupid and dim. Doh!

I think it's the main residence. She may well have another property but I think this is where the family live.

To be honest I think her epilepsy has brain damaged her, killed off some little bit of her brain that governs empathy. (I'm in no way saying everyone with epilepsy is like this). There's something really off and carelessly self destructive about her.

Even though she's a very horrid human being I do feel a bit sorry for her; I can't imagine there's much love in her life.

South Africa is probably a country which could do with some sort of redistributive tax system. Something I am not normally in favour of. They've never dealt with the skewed distribution of wealth caused by Apartheid.

Killing and chasing farmers away doesn't work as we saw in Zimbabwe. There has to be another way.

As Maxthemartian said, the history of land ownership in South Africa is almost impossible to disentangle but conviscating farms and leaving them deserted or encouraging people back to the land in a version of subsistence farming is surely a retrograde step. Why not (heavily) tax those farming efficiently and plough that money back into education, housing etc?

It's a travesty what has happened to Zimbabwe; the missed opportunities. I was so hopeful in 94 with the peaceful transfer of power in SA. Now SA seems to be in difficulty too. This is an interesting topic. It's a shame it's linked to KH.

She is such a sad, attention seeking prick. I wonder if she has always had racist, xenophobic views - a big part of me thinks she hasn't. I think she loved the attention when she started going on about children with 'common' names and ever since has just jumped on any bandwagon that will make people angry/disgusted enjoy to keep paying attention to her.

But whether or not the things she says reflect how she actually feels is irrelevant - you do the crime, you do the time. I hope they throw the book at her in SA, how fucking ignorant can you get?

She's left SA. She was treated with ketamine by SA medics. She had a chance to settle out of court but didn't do so hence house for sale.
She's a bit of a dick but that doesn't make her unique.

Detained by the S.A authorities for spreading hate speech a few days after collapsing in the street from taking ketamine. Meanwhile back in Blighty she's selling her house in order to pay massive legal bills. I think it’s fair to say her career has taken a bit of a dive.
