Just watched the clip of Jacob rees mogg at Bristol university, when a few momentum activists try to cause havoc and stop him from talking

Whatever anyone thinks of this man, I have to say he was pretty gutsy going up to them, considering they are all hiding behind Balaclavas and scarves and there wasn't any security there.
Most politicians wouldn't have gone near them, let alone try to talk to them

I like him. Yes his views are controversial and I don't agree with some of them, but at least he stands up for what he believes in

Diane Abbott fucked up on live television several times.

Boris Johnson repeatedly makes mistakes, forgets numbers, endangers Briton's in jail abroad but is foreign secretary.

But hey, white, male, Eton, Oxford, Bullingdon Club so he's untouchable.

MissEliza · 03/02/2018 09:44

As long as someone isn't spreading hate or violence then they should be able to speak freely, particularly at a university. What's that old saying, 'I don't agree with what you're saying, but I'll die for your right to say it'?

Eltonjohnssyrup · 03/02/2018 09:45

Multiple eyewitnesses say the hooded protester who went nose-to-nose with Jacob Rees-Mogg tonight is a Corbynista, Momentum and Labour supporter. The word on campus is that the hatted protester with red sunglasses seen berating the Mogg in the above video is Josh Connor, a former student at the University of the West of England, where tonight’s disruption took place. Connor was described by eyewitnesses as the protester who was “most vocal and stayed longest.” His social media – swiftly made private late last night – tells the usual story…

Likes include Jeremy Corbyn, Bristol Momentum Youth, Bristol Labour Party and Filton and Bradley Stoke Constituency Labour Party. Posts include a picture of a pie with the word “corbz” baked into the crust. Another picture shows Ken Loach addressing a Bristol Momentum event. Other pics show a copy of Mao’s Little Red Book being received as birthday present and hammer and sickle with the slogan “eat the rich.” Sadly predictable…

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 03/02/2018 09:45

Make - do you condemn the bullying tactics & aggressive actions of momentum & antifa?

Do you condemn the behaviour of the shouty twats from last night?

Do you condemn last night's treatment of a serving MP?

It's a very straightforward question really!

Eltonjohnssyrup · 03/02/2018 09:46

Boris Johnson repeatedly makes mistakes, forgets numbers, endangers Briton's in jail abroad but is foreign secretary.

No, he is mocked and criticised by his opponents in the same way. Diane Abbott hasn't been removed, why should he be?

nextDayDelivery · 03/02/2018 09:46

"But hey, white, male, Eton, Oxford, Bullingdon Club so he's untouchable."

Grow up. Johnson is not untouchable as proven by the press and your sexism and racism and other prejudice are trite and nearly beneath answering.

He is well educated and articulate, maybe that's the difference. DA's ability to fuck up in public has nothing to do with her race or sex.

Squeegle · 03/02/2018 09:46

The fact that he is momentum does not translate into everyone in the Labour Party is a madman you know elton, why do I feel you are just here to score points. It ain’t university challenge.

woodhill · 03/02/2018 09:46

I don't think we appreciate how lucky we are in the UK to have the freedom to behave in the manner of monentum. It's just take. For granted. Try doing that in Russian uni or the ME and see where it gets you.

lostincumbria · 03/02/2018 09:46

Why is nobody talking about the "fracas" starting because the guy in the white shirt appears to hit a woman in the face?

VladmirsPoutine · 03/02/2018 09:46

But hey, white, male, Eton, Oxford, Bullingdon Club so he's untouchable.

I feel like this should be printed on a wall or a poster or something. Boris Johnson repeatedly fucks up but he's 'just being Boris'.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 03/02/2018 09:47

He is well educated and articulate

Abbott is well educated too.

woodhill · 03/02/2018 09:47

Taken for granted.

Squeegle · 03/02/2018 09:47

nextday, it does have something to do with her diabetes which was out of control at that point. Be a little generous.

VladmirsPoutine · 03/02/2018 09:48

@woodhill To be fair, I don't think they should be considered a benchmark.

lostincumbria · 03/02/2018 09:48

Please explain my sexism and racism to me, nextday?

makeourfuture · 03/02/2018 09:49

I am not sure about that Guido Fawkes article. Has it been confirmed?

C8H10N4O2 · 03/02/2018 09:49

No. Diane Abbott fucked up on live television several times

When she was ill and run into the ground you mean? When labour were using her 24*7 to cover every TV show/interview whilst trying to run a shadow brief as well?

Good job those white Bullingdon boys don't ever make mistakes (ill, exhausted or otherwise).

Mistakes like cocking up the entire country with no plan just to hold power inside one party. Mistakes like then sodding off leaving someone else to pick up the mess whilst they snipe away, on the odd occasion they lift their noses out of the pork barrel.

psychomath · 03/02/2018 09:52

make, leaving aside the issue of who they were, do you think it was wrong of them to act as they did?

BubblesBuddy · 03/02/2018 09:53

This isn’t really about Diane Abbott though is it? The security was obviously poor last night. People broke into an event and had their faces covered. They obviously didn’t want to be identified and that’s sinister. They could have been students (who are not all aged 18-21 by the way) or political agitators or both. However it’s not acceptable for any mainstream elected politician to be faced with this and it doesn’t matter who they are. I don’t like JRM but I do respect that MPs have a right to be heard, and debate ensue, or we have anarchy!

Headofthehive55 · 03/02/2018 09:53

It's utterly wrong and further outlines why I don't support labour anymore.
There is room for an alternative view, but it doesn't need to be pushed in such an aggressive manner.

MeYouYouMe · 03/02/2018 09:53

AreYouOrHaveYouEverBeenATERF · 03/02/2018 09:53

To be fair, the guy Guido Fawkes is referring to wasn't one of balaclava'd ones. He was very shouty though, which is frankly tedious. I always want to say to them "use your words" - as I used to say to my children when they were tantrumming.

Who was the guy in the white shirt? He was the one turned it into a 'scuffle' - started the pushing and shoving.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 03/02/2018 09:54

When she was ill and run into the ground you mean? When labour were using her 247 to cover every TV show/interview whilst trying to run a shadow brief as well?*

Yes, it's kind of expected. That's the job you know? Every cabinet level politician does it. The world carries on happening even if a politician is sick. If their health doesn't allow them to fulfil the position they should step down.

Anyway, it's massively hypocritical for the left to plead her diabetes is a problem when they tried to use May's diabetes against her to claim she wasn't fit to be leader.

If Teresa May had made that kind of cock up and blames her diabetes the left would be calling for her head. Look at the fuss they made at the Tory conference because she had a cold.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 03/02/2018 09:54

I see that make is unable to say the actions at that event were wrong.

Good job that many Labour MPs have condemned it..

FaithHopeCharityDesperation · 03/02/2018 09:56

The fact that he is momentum does not translate into everyone in the Labour Party is a madman you know

Absolutely.

Which is why Angela Rayner et al condemned their actions immediately (although JC has been silent thus far).
