3 isn't many is it?

Here's mine

Jill Tyrell-Nighty Night
David Brent even though he annoys me so much
Basil Fawlty

Now people will come along with theirs and I'll think I've chosen the wrong ones!

I loved all the Seinfeld characters - but George’s parents were hysterical whenever they appeared (festivus, catching people short....
Great choices! Doing things out of spite, comparing George to Lloyd Bron...

AmberLangslow · 06/07/2018 00:15

Ha! I thought all my favourites had already been mentioned but not my no1 ultimate favourite:

Alan B’Stard from The New Statesman

I’ll see if I can think of any more...

whosafraidofabigduckfart That's fantastic! Grin

Quite a few of the 'Seinfeld' themes / issues are brought back in 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' which is also ludicrously funny but not really a sitcom (if so then Susie Greene would make it into my favourite characters' list).

I have certainly empathised with George on many occasions.

Great thread and some great quotes!

I'm another who loves Margot in the Good Life, I've been rewatching Desperate Housewives and I often think that Bree is part based on her.

Andy - Detectorists. Never thought I'd find Mackenzie Crook attractive. Such a lovely character.

Cam in Modern Family is great. Also a mention for Pepper Saltzman 'Sorry I thought I was wearing a cape today'

BuckysRoboticArm · 06/07/2018 11:53

Another for Karen in W&G

All the main cast in It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (impossible to choose)

Someone mentioned The Thin Blue Line a while back - fantastic sitcom, very under-rated.
My votes go for Constable Habib (Thin Blue Line)
Captain Blackadder (honourable mention to Blackadder 2)
Margo Ledbetter - fab character, I often imagine I am her as I am swanning about the house in my kaftan this summer.
