Poo in my skip

SadWinky · 29/01/2018 18:21

Firstly I’ve got a bit of a dog poo phobia so may overreacted a little. For background, earlier this week I noticed a little black dog poo bag in the bottom of my wheelie bin which i’d left on my drive near the pavement. I know it’s silly but I was paranoid about poosplosion if any heavy item was chucked in there on top so fished out offending Poobag and walked the 5 mins to the nearest public dog poo bin to dispose of it properly. Resolved to put wheelie bin at back of house so no more dog walkers can use it. Come home today and, in an empty skip on our driveway for some building work we’re having done this week, another poobag has appeared. Aibu to find this cheeky/weird? I know skips are to an extent fair game but putting poo in it! Angry

Ugh, don't get me started on skips. I saw a neighbour leave his house on the corner of our road, carrying a broken chair. "That's odd" I thought, but didn't think anything more of it. Returned home to find said chair in my skip!!

Don't worry about a poo explosion - the sides of skips are much deeper than you think and it it not like you're packing it to keep!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 30/01/2018 12:09

Who wants to carry a bag of poo for miles? I would put a dog poo bag in someone's bin.

Your dog, your problem. You chose to have one so deal with the shit. I don't want to drop something in my bin and split a bag of poo belonging to someone's dog so it's all over my bin thank you.

The majority of dog owners are fine, but some are inconsiderate idiots who give the rest a bad name.

(Yes, I do feel strongly about this as most of the inconsiderate owners seem to live near me and think it's acceptable to leave their precious mutt's crap everywhere)

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 30/01/2018 12:12

Apparently the previous tenant in my flat used to try to flush nappies down the loo. No wonder there are drainage problems.

Do you live near me Bullet?! Apparently the thick as mince family who lived a few doors along used to do that and then wonder why their drains were blocked.

Jigglytuff · 30/01/2018 12:13

Thanks very much @HuskyMcClusky - might just do that. It’s bloody freezing here Grin

mummyhaschangedhername · 30/01/2018 12:33

Wow, clearly it's a thing. I've had it a lot. Some disgusting person keeps leaving bags on my drive and a few times they have been put in my recycling or food waste and then the council refuse to take them so I have to take the dog waste and my own recycling to the centre. So bloody annoying.

Jengnr · 30/01/2018 14:33

Bags on a drive/hanging from trees/in the wrong bin are all a problem.

Bags in a bin? Nah.

Agerbilatemycardigan · 30/01/2018 14:42

My neighbour got sick of people putting their bulging bags of dog poo in her bin, so put a polite notice on the lid asking them not to.

Got home from work one evening and found 4 bags containing steaming dog turds neatly leaning against the outside of her bin..

MyKingdomForBrie · 30/01/2018 14:44

whisky I hope you took it straight back?!

ager those people were arseholes clearly. It’s no wonder dog walkers get a bad name.

Gobbolinothewitchscat · 30/01/2018 14:45

Skips are emptied by hand - the employees doing that job have signed up to sort household/building rubble. Not dog shit.

We currently have skips here for building work. They are for our use. Not for dumping dog shit in. Just like dog owners' bins are for their use - not for me to dump building crap in

As for the poster who has said they dont want to carry poo for miles, don't have a bloody dog then!

TemptressofWaikiki · 30/01/2018 15:02

Our bins are emptied weekly but there are virtually no public bins on any of the streets anymore, hence, I would not be too upset about a small bag I suppose. The bins are tipped automatically here too. What is actually more irritating though is that a lot of neighbours on my street seem too busy to put their bins back into their spaces on their properties and leave them all the time on the narrow pavements. My next-door neighbours even left them outside my property for the past few weeks. I can only deduce that they view them as public property and that they are inviting me to use them. Having had a clear out this weekend, I gladly took up this generous offer and filled them all to the brim. Grin

Vitalogy · 30/01/2018 16:47

I've noticed that in recent times, dog poo bags hanging from trees, unbelievable.

Spangles1963 · 30/01/2018 16:53

At least it's in a bag and not a fresh, naked turd outside your house. Grin That sentence made me laugh!

Lethaldrizzle · 30/01/2018 17:03

Dog owners are so selfish not all but alot

babybobobear · 30/01/2018 17:04

Omg I didn't even know this would be a thing anyone would care about 😂 😂

Lethaldrizzle · 30/01/2018 19:51

It's gross

BulletFox · 31/01/2018 16:32

I went back to find this thread as I left the building approx 40 mins ago and there was a little black bag on the doorstep outside, I took a quick look inside and it was a deposit.

It's never happened before (as far as I know) and I just took it inside and put it in the wheelie bin.

I guess it's a little cheeky as someone could have stepped on it

Four men jailed for 'brutal' attack on dog walker who put pet's poo in their bin - The Independentapple.news/A_c7FetocRuaS4MiYpjFLXg

Don't know if that will work!

HuskyMcClusky · 08/02/2018 09:18

Dog owners are so selfish not all but alot

Parents are so selfish - not all, but a lot.

People with red hair are so selfish - not all, but a lot.

Retirees are so selfish - not all, but a lot.

See how that works?

Bigmack12 · 23/04/2021 01:13

I have had a few skips outside my house and dog poo bags being tossed in
Annoying because we pack the skip so getting in .
Why do people think its ok to leave a bag of stinking fly food outside someone's house.
Because of this i had a proper cctv fitted & now know who the scumbag is a women down the road that says hello when she sees you about. Have it all on video clear as day and obvious its being done on purpose, even put a sign up asking them not to do it but that made them do more.
Have reported it to the council and she has a nice letter on its way Smile
Shame i can't add a picture

Bigmack12 · 23/04/2021 01:17

Cctv
Only way

StoneofDestiny · 23/04/2021 06:35

Agree. Your dog, your problem, your shit. Carry it to your own bin or get rid of the dog.

NorksFromThaNorth · 23/04/2021 12:26

@Whatshallidonowpeople

Who wants to carry a bag of poo for miles? I would put a dog poo bag in someone's bin. It's a bin, they aren't sticking it through the letterbox
Please tell me you aren't one of those who ties their bags of dog poo in a tree just because you don't want to carry a bag of poo for miles?
BrownAndSticky · 23/04/2021 13:19

YANBU
We hired a skip a while back, and the conditions actually stated that we weren't to put poo bags or nappies in it. I'm not sure why, but was happy with that rule, flinging either in someone else's bin/skip is rude and gross imo.

We kept getting poo bags thrown in it, OH put up a sign, saw several neighbours laughing and/or shaking their heads at the sign, apparently we were the ones being unreasonable.

Babygotblueyes · 23/04/2021 13:43

Would never dream of putting a dog poo bag in someones bin, but really dont see the issue with the skip?

Babygotblueyes · 23/04/2021 13:45

Just saw the thing about skips being emptied by hand - is that right? May change my view.
