Just that. What time do you all get up in the morning?

I get up at 6am and it's always a struggle as I seem to be a night owl

We live around the corner from the school. I do ironing the night before & DS has school dinners now, so 7:30 and we leave at 8:30. I don’t think I could get up before 7!

garlicbreathlovely · 30/01/2018 09:52

Get up to let the dog out at 8, then back to bed through several alarms until about 9:28 when I have to roll out of bed for 9:30 work start (work from home!) I'm much more of a night owl

ragmayo · 30/01/2018 10:00

6.45/7 for school run,4.45 for work

notgivingin789 · 30/01/2018 10:08

My alarm is set for 6:15, but I force myself to get out of bed by 6.30. DS gets up at 7 and out of the house by 8am.

PurpleTraitor · 30/01/2018 10:10

6am, if the DC let me. This morning was woken at 5.15 by child wanting to get up, who sat next to my head heavy breathing until 6 when I allowed it to be morning.

Breakfast for the DC straight away, I have coffee and do my work emails. Shower, dress. Take the dog out for 20 minutes, often delayed by the DC wanting to come with me and so getting the dressed first. DC do reading books in the morning as they always find it easier then. They have another breakfast that I join in with. Out by 8.10am.

I am also a night owl and never make it to bed until midnight-1am.

7am - when DH alarm goes off! He gets up and makes me a cup of tea.

My children didn't wake up until 7:15 so I didn't get out of bed until they got up. I did my make up and got dressed, so came down at 7:30.

Kids got changed and had breakfast by 7:45. I sorted DD hair while she was eating. Then they just played until 8:10.

I put my washing on around 8ish.
We leave at 8:15 to walk the 1mile to school.
Or 8:40 to get the bus if we're running late.

Most days go like that.

murmuration · 30/01/2018 12:24

french, I'm in awe! Although I totally couldn't manage not eating at home. I'm ravenous when I wake up.

I'm surprised at how regularly early everyone is. I thought I was a freak for liking early mornings (probably still am), but it seems my early is still pretty close to normal. No wonder everyone is so tired if people have to wake up so early, when most people have later body clocks! I think I read something somewhere about social jetlag (I think) that claimed the world is set too early for most people.

MibsXX · 30/01/2018 17:35

4am 3 days a week due to starting work at 5am, ( followed by using my break at work to do school run 45mins round trip at 8.30am) and 2 days a week 7.30 am for the school run from home

Maireadplastic · 30/01/2018 17:42

7.15 (DH is up at 5.40 and out at 6.10, eldest son takes himself off to secondary school). Leave the house at 8.30, 20 min walk to primary school to drop younger boys, 15 min bus to work.

purplebunny2012 · 30/01/2018 17:44

Up just after 7am

Flippertigibbet · 30/01/2018 17:45

6.36am (yes DH is that precise!) alarm with a Lumie lamp easing me into consciousness (not a winter morning person...actually scrap that...just not a morning person OR a winter personGrin)
Outta bed at 6.45am. Wake DC up and send them down to angelic DH (who is much more a morning person than me) for their breakfast. I bath while they eat. DH off to work @ 7.15am. DC come up to do teeth/face/ablutions generally and get into uniform for school. 7.45am downstairs for spellings and X-tables and music practice while I do housework/eashing/sort various pets/sort bookbags/packed lunches. Out of door for school (a v short walk) @ 8.40am.
It's a well honed routine which I'm dreading changing in September when DC starts 2ndary school Confused

Sarah0574 · 30/01/2018 17:50

8am! I'm a single parent too. Oldest DS (10) makes breakfast for himself and DS (3) as I can't stomach breakfast until about half 9. I get the younger one ready for preschool, make his packed lunch, and take him there at 5 to 9. The oldest one gets himself ready and walks the 5 minutes to school at about 8.40. I work from home so this is do-able. I have a shower the night before and usually do school run with no makeup and hair covered up with a hat. I'm so NOT a morning person. My kids know this and don't disturb me before 8. #BadMom

MichaelBendfaster · 30/01/2018 17:53

7.30 at the mo (sometimes earlier on lighter mornings).

Get up, do about an hour of yoga, then coffee and breakfast, shower, work (at home). No kids. Or pets.

spiderlight · 30/01/2018 17:53

7.15. Leave for school run at 8.40. I work from home though so I don't need to get smartened up for work.

whifflesqueak · 30/01/2018 17:54

6am because that’s when my small children get up.

Nursery at 8am.

I actually don’t start work until 5pm, but since I don’t finish until midnight I do find it really tough. In fact i’m not at all sure it’s sustainable.

Oblomov18 · 30/01/2018 17:54

Finally force myself to get out of bed at 8am. Leave house at 8.40. Drop Ds2 at school, in Work for 9am.

NoobThebrave · 30/01/2018 17:55

Alarm at 7, get up at 7.05, put out breakfast and do all the animals. Everything is ready the night before (mostly).... Whistle at 7.20, family do showers, get dressed and breakfast. I slurp tea and put wash on etc. Leave at 8. School run, give dogs a walk and home at 9.30 by which time there is hot water again for shower and getting dressed for the day ahead. If I go to bed late I struggle to be efficient...but too often it doesnt stop me Grin

Mollie85 · 30/01/2018 18:06

5.40 to start work for 6.45
Have no DH or kids though. It takes me twenty mins for make up and hair. I do prat around dancing in front of the mirror to 80s power ballards whilst getting ready though Grin

This morning it was Say You, Say Me by Lionel Richie... Blush

sallyarmy1 · 30/01/2018 18:06

I don't need an alarm - I naturally wake up about 6am in the Autumn/Winter, and about 5-5.30 in the Spring/Summer.

I only work 2 days a week and like to get there about 8.15am, to open up for 9am.

And I am always in bed by 10pm.

I couldn't lie in bed any longer than about 5-10 minutes after waking, even if I tried - I ♥ the mornings.

Plenty of time to sleep when I'm dead :)

CheesyWeez · 30/01/2018 18:07

7.35 and have done all my life.
(apart from when my babies were still waking early.)

I get ready the night before : prepare my clothes, wash my hair if necessary, pack bag, fill up with petrol
same for the kids

Seems a waste of time to pootle about in the morning when I could be sleeping.

Sarahrellyboo1987 · 30/01/2018 18:09

6:30.
I never make lunches the night before - makes the sandwiches and fruit go nasty!

LBOCS2 · 30/01/2018 18:10

6.30 if I'm working, 8 if I'm not. On days I work I get up, sort me out, wake the DC at 7 and aim to be out of the house at 7.30 to the Childminder's - realistically this is often closer to 7.45. I'm at the station for 8.05, at my desk at 8.45.

On days when I'm not working we get up at 8. We live 9 doors away from the school so don't have to leave before 8.45 for an 8.55 start. Works fine - and we all appreciate the extra sleep!

CaptainHammer · 30/01/2018 18:12

5.55am for work. 7.30am on my day off.

BillyAndTheSillies · 30/01/2018 18:12

Depends on childcare.
Monday-Wednesday alarm goes off at 6:40 and I spend between then and 7am waking up and out the door for 7:30. Luckily just changed jobs and work a 10 minute drive away so after drop off at Nursery at 7:40 I'm at my desk for 8am.

Thursday and Friday a little different as I have a 5 mile drive to my mum's and a repeat journey back and then on to work so aim to be at my mum's for 7, have a cuppa and back on the road at 7:20. On Thursday and Friday my alarm goes off at 6:15, no chance to wake up, just up with the alarm. Often put DS in the car still asleep!

MsGameandWatching · 30/01/2018 18:16

On a good day 7.50 am, school is five minutes away so that gives us an hour. On a bad day we've been known to roll out of bed at 8.25. We always make it, dd has never been late in six years. I know we are really lucky.
