Just that. What time do you all get up in the morning?

I get up at 6am and it's always a struggle as I seem to be a night owl

On work days up at 5.55, out the door at 6.10. Non work days I'm up when the kids wake me up - generally about 8.

I couldn't be doing with sitting around drinking coffee and browsing mumsnet in the morning. That could be extra time in bed! I generally feel that if I'm not running to the bus stop then I've mistimed it.

Maddiemademe · 29/01/2018 16:01

I am an early riser. Up at 5am to get ready, make up, breakfast, cup of tea and watching to prerecorded Emmerdale in piece. I wake up DS 6 at 6:30am for breakfast and then DD 2 at 7am. Out the door at 7:30am to start nursery and school run then back home 9am. I work mainly from home unless i have been booked to do a shoot London.

I love how peaceful it is at 5am. I used to wake even earlier (4am) but I now take antidepressants and I seem to struggle with waking a bit since I started them. I go to bed around 10pm.

murmuration · 29/01/2018 16:01

french, wow! What do you do in that 15 minutes? I don't think I could physically eat breakfast in less than 10 minutes, and it usually takes me a few minutes to make it! And then there's getting dressed and all...

Maddiemademe · 29/01/2018 16:16

*in peace - have no idea why I wrote in piece! In pieces maybe

SilentBob · 29/01/2018 16:24

I I would norm park my car somewhere and bus to work for 9, however on mat leave at mo... So I now just come home or whatever I've planned
Once baby here it will be a different story lol.. I'll be up at the crack of dawn with you guys lol

LunchBoxPolice · 29/01/2018 17:34

7.15, out of the house at 8.15 to get ds to nursery.

crackerjacket · 29/01/2018 17:38

Up at 6am, leave at 7am. Back home by 5pm.

OurMiracle1106 · 29/01/2018 17:39

6.09 (when my second phone alarm goes off).
Get to work for 7.15 having showered the night before and gone to bed in clean sheets.

During the warmer weather I wake earlier and will shower as I sometimes sweat during the night. But not in Winter. (Don’t have heating on)

JoandMax · 29/01/2018 17:43

Up at 5.45am, DH leaves around 6.30am and DC and I by 7am. Normally on a weekday I have to wake the DC up yet typically at weekend they’re wide awake at about 5.01am.........

Indie139 · 29/01/2018 18:07

Between 7 and 7.30

Indie139 · 29/01/2018 18:09

Between 7 and 7.30. We leave at 8.40. Drop my daughter at school for 8.50. And I get to work for 9.

SparkyTheCat · 29/01/2018 18:15

Sunrise alarm comes on between 6.30 and 7. Leaving house by 8.15ish. Colleagues know not to talk to me before coffee has been consumed. As you may have gathered, I am not a morning person.

Allthewaves · 29/01/2018 18:16

Blissful 7.00 on workday and 7.30 none workday.

PenguinDi · 29/01/2018 18:24

Alarm goes off at 6.45 and get up about 7.10 after the news, I leave for the train at 7.45.

nokidshere · 29/01/2018 18:26

I was up at 9 this morning. DH goes to work at 7 and my teenagers leave for school at 7:45 but get themselves up theses days.

Even though I don't have to go anywhere I like to be up by 9 or I feel like I've missed half the day. I have been known to stay in bed till 12 though on the odd occasion

trumptown · 29/01/2018 18:28

5.30am on weekdays, in the gym by 6.10, home 7.10 to get DCs ready for school. Eldest leaves at 7.55 and walks to secondary school. Youngest and I leave at 8.35 to walk to their primary school, am at work by 9. I get everything ready the night before, gym kit, school bags, my work bag, school uniforms and my work clothes laid out etc. Have plenty of time at home after the gym for making breakfast and packed lunches etc. All of that only feasible with copious amounts of industrial strength espresso.

Gillian1980 · 29/01/2018 18:31

About 7.30 ish. None of us are morning people and it’s a daily struggle!

Longdistance · 29/01/2018 18:31

7.30 up. Dds awake shortly after. They get dressed, I iron their shirts as I go so they’re warm to put on. Jump in shower, brush their hair and tie up. They go downstairs for breakfast which dh sorts. He leaves, I come down after and send them up for brushing their teeth, out the door at 8.43, to arrive for 8.45.
I start work at 9.30, dh picks up dds at 5.45. If he can’t do it as he’s away with work, I go and pick up just before 6.

Packed lunches are made the night before.

Turquoisetamborine · 29/01/2018 18:39

I get up at 7 and I’ve done the nursery drop off and am at my desk by 8. I do basic makeup and hair but am not required to look glam at work thankfully. I live within a quarter of a mile of my office which helps but the nursery is 13 mins there and back.

Turquoisetamborine · 29/01/2018 18:41

That’s only mon-wed. On thurs and fri I get up at 7.30 and wake my son for school at 8.15 as we live within 50 yards of the school and he doesn’t have to be in til 8.55am. He really benefits from that but extra time in bed.
My work, school, house and nursery are all within a mile and half of eachother and I’d really recommend it.

Soubriquet · 29/01/2018 18:42

I wake up at 6 in order to have a cup of tea in peace and quiet and a chance to properly wake up before the kids get up.

I get the kids up at 7.15

We leave the house at 8.30 in order to be there for 8.55, though I can leave her at the gate for 8.45 and she can go straight into her classroom.

ChickenVindaloo2 · 29/01/2018 19:08

8.40am.

I have no kids, I live a 6 minute walk from work and I wash my hair in the evening.

Don't be jealous, now!

ChickenVindaloo2 · 29/01/2018 19:14

Now that I've read the thread:

No human being should have to get up before 7am (unless they particularly want to)

All you lot getting up at 5am - WTAF?! Doesn't that make you semi-noctural?

Starting to realise why parents get so little sleep...I go to sleep at about midnight and still get over 8hours...

randomthoughts · 29/01/2018 19:26

Alarm goes off at 6:05, out the door 6:18. My youngest wakes up for a cuddle before I leave. DH sorts the kids and I'm usually back for school pick up.
