To vote Tory in the next election?

I've lost all hope of any rationality coming out of JC and Labour.

I feel like my biological existence is being wiped out.

I already feel completely bereft that the future of the female/girls/women will likely continue to be ruled and overruled by the patriarchy.

I'm Tory and I will admit that the current government are prolonging austerity. Going round in circles - losing a few MP's to scandals along the way.

However.

There's no f*ing chance I'd ever vote Labour whilst Corbyn, McDonnell, Abbott and Momentum are the only other option.

catgirl1976 · 29/01/2018 18:32

I won't be voting Labour I know that much and I am a life long supporter.

I've cancelled my membership over this self id crap and Labour's attitude.

I can't bring myself to vote Tory.

The Lib Dems are a shower under Tim Fallon although if Paddy was still in charge I might feel differently.

The Greens and the WEP have drunk the trans kool aid too, as have the Tories and Lib Dems in any case. I would never vote UKIP obviously

I am politically homeless

Maybe we should start the Mumsnet Party. We could campaign on important issues like loo brushes, making a chicken last all week and the relative naiceness of ham. And sort out women's rights which seem to come way below the ham and the loo brushes for all the current parties.

LifeBeginsAtGin · 29/01/2018 18:41

I'd vote for you Catgirl

DrRanjsRightEyebrow · 29/01/2018 18:42

YABVVVVVU

ChasedByBees · 29/01/2018 18:43

Tim Fallon isn’t the leader of the Lib Dem’s, Vince Cable is.

ForalltheSaints · 29/01/2018 18:44

Like Catgirl I feel politically homeless, but I will vote for someone other than Labour or Tory. I live in a seat which has been Tory for more years than I have been on the earth so can do so without an unintended consequence.

catgirl1976 · 29/01/2018 18:50

Grin Thanks Gin Grin

I'm sure I'd be better than any of the current lot and could form an awesome cabinet from the Mumsnet posters. I feel like we'd just get stuff done (unless we got distracted by a really good parking thread..) Grin

catgirl1976 · 29/01/2018 18:51

Oh god so he is Chased... that's how much attention I've been paying to them Blush

BrownLiverSpot · 29/01/2018 18:57

Libdems made the mistake to concentrate on a single issue in the last ge. Hopefully they've learned their lesson. I do think they could be a credible start for a centrist party but our system is rigged to be a two party system. Don't understand why there isn't more demand for change. I know labour were looking at changes to it but haven't heard anything about it for some while.

LifeBeginsAtGin · 29/01/2018 19:06

That's ok catgirl1976

Will you be wearing 'kitten heels' like Tresemme??

catgirl1976 · 29/01/2018 19:12

Grin Ha - very good

I shall have to. And those pussycat bow blouses. Grim but I'll need a trademark for the Daily Fail to comment on

Somerford · 30/01/2018 09:31

@Seniorcitizen1

Somerford- are you and your ilk going to come for me in the middle of the night for speaking the truth!

A strange comment. I don't think my reply to you suggested that I'd do anything of the sort. For clarity, I don't care enough about you to go to those kinds of lengths. And my ilk aren't known for censorious or authoritarian leanings, the left has had a monopoly on those traits in recent times.

Have a wonderful day.

makeourfuture · 30/01/2018 09:58

know quite a few people - mainly women - who may not survive another Tory government.

This is where we are.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 30/01/2018 10:13

Amazing then, that death rates under the Tories are decreasing despite more people being within the age range where death is expected.

One might almost think hysterical claims where being made with zero evidence.

Rebeccaslicker · 30/01/2018 10:15

That doesn't sound like a momentum not at all, Elton....

Rebeccaslicker · 30/01/2018 10:15

BOT, not "not"!!

Fradishes · 30/01/2018 10:22

Part of the reason this is where we are madeourfuture is that we have an opposition who have made themselves unelectable and have no interest in being electable.

Eltonjohnssyrup · 30/01/2018 10:40

Exactly Fradishes. All our politicians are useless now.

Where'd that majority go?

Eltonjohnssyrup · 30/01/2018 11:23

Yes, makeourfuture, but it's interesting to see that while that is regarded as a great failure for the Conservatives, doing even worse is regarded as a great success for Labour. Which just goes to show how low expectations are for this Labour Party.

makeourfuture · 30/01/2018 11:42

Extend the lines....it's about trajectories. You are either getting better, or getting worse.

Do you have any links to show those figures? Because one study has demonstrated austerity measures were the cause of 45,000 deaths in the first 4 years.

www.independent.co.uk/news/health/tory-austerity-deaths-study-report-people-die-social-care-government-policy-a8057306.html

''The paper found that there were 45,000 more deaths in the first four years of Tory-led efficiencies than would have been expected if funding had stayed at pre-election levels.''

''The paper identified that mortality rates in the UK had declined steadily from 2001 to 2010, but this reversed sharply with the death rate growing again after austerity came in.''

Thats not hysteria. Its an attempt at a rational discussion.

SersioulycanitgetWORSE · 30/01/2018 11:56

The oppression of women starts with the tories, two female leaders of this country and the Labour pink bus and no female mp. Hmm op I feel the same, I'm a swing voters but my heart is with labour and I have voted for them far more than tory. However labour... What a fucking shit show..
Dreadful. Momentum alone makes me avoid them, nasty, aggressive, brain washed.... Awful. Only one or two mps would I out right support if they went for leadership bid. Otherwise no.

Mycatisahacker · 30/01/2018 12:02

Totally agree with you cat girl

I assume from your response makeourfuture you think that I voted for the Conservatives? Well pre-Corbyn I had always, always voted Labour. (Voted SNP last time, with a bit of a heavy heart, I cannot in conscience vote for JC's party now - among other things the whitewashing of antisemitism from some corners completely repelled me).

So the point of my post was that Labour should have romped home at the last election - given how long incumbent government had been in power, Brexit balls up, disastrous electoral campaign etc etc etc. There will never be a more open goal. And yet they completely failed, and so for my money they have also failed the people at the sharp end of austerity, - because they can't get elected, and so are not a credible opposition.

By all means, claim I am wrong, this is for the greater good, it will all come right in the end. I don't agree though - it seems to me people are only getting turned off Labour more and more.
