AIBU Trollhunting is ruining AIBU

I understand troll hunting if the OP is giving dangerous advice. However, increasingly every single poster is being grilled by troll hunters about every aspect of their post. It makes a thread hard to follow and really boring to read.

I don't understand why the troll hunters do it, there is an easy to use report button. I have read several threads in the last week where the OP was subjected to constant snide comments about the veracity of their post. I think if these troll hunters persist then people won't want to post at all.

OP posts:

I feel you're not quite there yet. Smile For future reference, Cote is very active on maths and science threads. For example, normally she would be the first one to spot someone trying to misrepresent an increase or decrease in relative risk as a change in absolute risk...

Coconutspongexo · 31/01/2018 10:26

I have reported Janey don’t worry. Yes piling on btw that’s what I said.

No great MN have said in reply to a query about this thread that they need to be reported as they won’t notice otherwise.

That has nothing to do with this thread IMightMentionGriddlebone.

Keep on topic, sweetie.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 31/01/2018 10:31

Hmm maybe Dippingmytoesin. They obviously felt Cotes posts warranted deleting nevertheless.

IMightMentionGriddlebone · 31/01/2018 10:31

As you wish, my lady.

Well this is nice. I came on with a valid comment to add to the thread but I see it's turned into a playground hair pulling, bitch slapping competition. Carry on, don't mind me.

Confused
SumThucker · 31/01/2018 10:47

Bizarre how lots of these recent comments are by posters who have only been posting in the last few months... 🤔

Really? How so? Does anyone keep a user name longer than a few months these days? I don't.

What is bizarre is how many threads that smell a bit strange from the off are started by brand new user names with no other posts at all, even when the subject of the thread doesn't risk outing them at all.

Now that is bizarre. Someone posting for a few months, weeks or even days, not so much.

paxillin · 31/01/2018 11:05

I do. I mean to continue using it, too. I would enjoy a no-namechange topic. It would stop "namechanged to goadyfuck/ be racist" posters.

ilovesooty · 31/01/2018 11:07

Same as paxillin

IFartGlitter · 31/01/2018 11:07

Aw, Janey, why thank you dear.

I tried to find you one you would recognise, but unsurprisingly, there isn’t a picture of a MNHQ well used Sigmoidoscope.

TournesolsetLavande · 31/01/2018 11:08

well I can't disagree with you there pax
