AIBU Trollhunting is ruining AIBU

I understand troll hunting if the OP is giving dangerous advice. However, increasingly every single poster is being grilled by troll hunters about every aspect of their post. It makes a thread hard to follow and really boring to read.

I don't understand why the troll hunters do it, there is an easy to use report button. I have read several threads in the last week where the OP was subjected to constant snide comments about the veracity of their post. I think if these troll hunters persist then people won't want to post at all.

I know it's not in the spirit to use adblocker because no ads no MN but they are so annoying. Plus they aren't really tailored to people with teenagers.

We've always had tedious dingdongs about exactly who spoils MN though.

Rule-breakers, rule-enforcers, huns, the not-so-brights and not-so-funnies have always been among the chief suspects for spoiling MN, too.

I think all groups and even individuals have been accused of spoiling MN at some point. We need a list of who is allowed to say what ideally.

I can see a thread in AIBU now that I think is goady/untrue. OP hasn't been back and it's had a lot of posters. So there you go, the troll hunters haven't stopped that one unfortunately

Cotswold, if people just silently reported them and didn't post, they'd go. Not instantly maybe, but they would eventually. Posters need and crave and audience. If they don't have that they don't post.

I've seen threads where there are whopping holes because troll-hunters have been deleted - where the poster wasn't a troll. That must make a poster feel pretty shit actually. No troll-hunter ever calls back to say "Sorry about that, I was wrong"., do they?
