In Sainsbury's car park. I've just parked in front of this Mini so they can't leave before I've said my piece Shock

I don't like sloppy parking, but I always do give the benefit of the double as I have no idea what the parking was like when they arrived.

I parked slantwise across two bays once because every single other car in the row had already done so, and it was the only option. 15m later I returned to be the only car looking like a pillock!

Sparklingbrook · 24/01/2018 13:17

Only on MN do people have such massive dramas about P&C spaces. I would love to see one of these self appointed parking space monitors patrolling a car park, but I never have.

Mummyoflittledragon · 24/01/2018 13:19

I couldn't get in the car, RTFT ffs!

That was what I asked. Was it you or was it your newborn and their seat that you couldn’t get in. It was a question. Read the fucking question. You said upthread you couldn’t get the car seat in. YOU weren’t clear about the rest. So I asked the question and got an aggressive response. Confused

The next person you pull this shit on might not be so reasonable so think twice before you take that risk
You have no idea what people have going on their lives so don't be so quick to point out the error of their ways

footballmum · 24/01/2018 13:26

Slightly different perspective. A couple of years ago a friend of mine was driving along and someone cut her up. She honked her horn out of frustration. Next set of traffic lights the guys in the car who had cut her up got out of their car. One had a sledge hammer and the other had a machete 😳 Luckily she was able to whizz off up a side road but it could have been a very different story. Be very careful when confronting strangers. You really don’t know who you’re dealing with and there are some dangerous people out there. Just grumble to yourself and let it go!!

Sparklingbrook · 24/01/2018 13:27

Brilliant Janey Grin

There aren't any P&C spaces at the supermarkets in our town so I would have to drive further afield to stake out a car park. I have binoculars and everything...

EilaLila · 24/01/2018 13:28

That’s a tragic tale 😢 who will play you in the story of your life?

I used to be a big fan of P&C spaces. Car seats are bulkier, cars are wider and spaces are smaller and why shouldn’t life be made easier if possible? Unfortunately, a small but vocal minority of entitled mummies (and sorry, it’s always the mummies who whinge) make me think they’re not worth it.

Do people really hold grudges for 14 years over a parking space?!

MarmaladeIsMyJam · 24/01/2018 13:31

I’m so embarrassed for you.

So when you were stranded for ages why didn’t you just go back into the store and ask for help? Instead of just waiting?

Oh I do so love parking vigilantes. Particularly the big bastard who pulled and got out his car to tell twenty year old 5.1” me I couldn’t be in a disabled space and keep repeating it more and more and more aggressively at me as I was getting my grandmothers wheel chair out the fucking car.

Honestly some people will upset anyone just on the off chance they are in luck and get it right and can have a smug wank on for the rest of the day.

Poor parking aside, the OP posted a thread and was (I assume) going to wait for all our helpful advice to, ahem, 'talk her down'.....honest to God, Doctors is on soon, get yerself home for a brew and move on.
Do people really jump at every opportunity to start a thread on here.

BishBoshBashBop · 24/01/2018 13:37

Do people really hold grudges for 14 years over a parking space?!

It would appear so.

Very strange.

HoneyDragon · 24/01/2018 13:39

Well my parking vigilante grudge has lasted 19 years so I win the thread.

I can’t see the photo anymore OP but I’m guessing someone parked too close to your car so you couldn’t open the door to get in? I can’t see what you did in retaliation so won’t comment on that but I don’t blame you for being pissed off, that would have pushed one of my buttons on a bad day.
Hope you feel talked down now - Have a nice Brew!

PiffleandWiffle · 24/01/2018 13:41

I just told her that she may have prevented someone with a baby who was also in a rush from being able to park.

Oh no, the horror! Someone with a baby had to get it out of the car in the same manner they would in a non-supermarket car park...

Woe is fucking you.... Hmm

DurhamDurham · 24/01/2018 13:41

Pearl it was 14 years ago that op was blocked in Grin

newrandomname · 24/01/2018 13:42

Mummyof you asked that question at 13:11, a whole 12 minutes after my post explaining it was both of us.

but I’m guessing someone parked too close to your car so you couldn’t open the door to get in?

@Pearlsaringer no there was no one in the area at all. OP felt like having a go about something that happened over 14 years ago, apparently

Wakeuptortoise · 24/01/2018 13:44

Can I have a diagram of the situation 14years ago. I'm invested in problem solving it for you, so you are no longer waiting.

Mummyoflittledragon · 24/01/2018 13:44

She was stuck “in the car for 14 years” 😱. I thought she couldn’t get in the car Janey. Do RTFT dear Wink
