In Sainsbury's car park. I've just parked in front of this Mini so they can't leave before I've said my piece Shock

Anyway, woman returned and told me sorry but she was in a rush and I just told her that she may have prevented someone with a baby who was also in a rush from being able to park

Would the imaginary person you seem to be on a crusade for unable to park in the other empty spaces?

SoupDragon · 24/01/2018 12:55

stranded for ages ?? Seriously?? You need to work on your problem solving skills!

Reallycantbebothered · 24/01/2018 12:55

When my dcs were little, parent and child spaces were few and far between and we somehow managed Wink
Looks like this car park wasn't busy anyway

TheHappyRedDragon · 24/01/2018 12:56

You don’t know what the parking situation was when the driver arrived or what is going on with them at the moment.

Life is so much easier when we are all nicer and kinder to one another.

newrandomname · 24/01/2018 12:56

Grow out of this kind of pettiness before your baby grows up and sees you behaving like this.
The newborn I was stranded with is now 14yrs and has many times seen me stand up for other people thanks Grin

What a weird thing to do. There would have been more spaces all round if you have just left the car park altogether.

I am sure your medal is in the post.

JenniferL90 · 24/01/2018 12:58

meh, the space to the left is very ususable if you only need one side of the car to get the kid in/out.

Get on with your day.

Lilmisskittykat · 24/01/2018 12:58

You know you can read the Reg if the car right? You should have removed it before posting

Where is the need really? It's not your car park so don't you worry about it.

You need to think twice about who you tackle in future about something that's nothing to do with you... people have been seriously hurt through nothing incidents. Hardly worth it...

BuckysRoboticArm · 24/01/2018 12:58

As civil as you were, you have completely over reacted in this situation. This scene you have made won't prevent any bad parking and newborns going hungry in the future either.

That woman says she was in a hurry. Maybe she had a situation happening herself? Maybe she's not all there for some reason (grief, mental health) and thought she was still leaving space for other cars so it wasn't the worst thing. Or maybe she just couldn't be bothered to park elsewhere. The fact is you don't know. What you have done - taking pictures (with plate on view) showing the internet, blocking her in - goes way beyond somebody just making an annoyed comment when they happen to see the driver get out in these kind of situations.

I actually think you should be ashamed op.

I've other times climbed through the boot but I'd just had an episiotomy. Someone helpfully suggested I leave the car seat unattended in the road and reverse. Even if that were a sensible suggestion I couldn't even squeeze in either side.

cookiedough1 · 24/01/2018 12:59

They don't consider for a second that someone with a hungry newborn might not need to be stood in the freezing cold for half an hour waiting for them

Why the fuck would anyone stand in the cold with a newborn for half an hour if they have a car? Aside from the fact that you could feed in the car, you could also park in the space beside the mini without issue.

Some people don't half get dramatic.

Several years ago I was stranded in a supermarket car park for ages because I couldn't get my eldest's car seat back in to the car because of someone doing this to me.

Why didn't you get in through the other side of your car? Surely you weren't blocked in on both sides?

beautifulpheasant · 24/01/2018 12:59

Grin come on OP is this the straw that broke the camel's back? I have days like this, quite often at the moment and need talking down. A cup of tea and a huge slab of cake will sort this.

You will I repeat WILL feel like shit if you follow this through adrenalin will pump through your already stressed-out body and it will make you feel shit like for days. Grin

afrikat · 24/01/2018 13:00

I agree with you OP!

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 24/01/2018 13:00

Utter madness OP. You have no right to be confronting anyone. You have no idea what is going on in their life.

Blackteadrinker77 · 24/01/2018 13:01

The car park isn't even full.

You will give yourself high blood pressure at an early age if you over react to such minor things.

Nikephorus · 24/01/2018 13:02

For all you knew OP she had a child with her who was absolutely desperate for the toilet and rather than take another minute parking in a manner suitable for your approval she bunged the car there & legged it with the desperate child.
Some people are such twats and in this case it wasn't particularly the mini driver.
If it's not inconveniencing you or someone else directly then leave people alone and stop looking for opportunities to be an arse. People make mistakes, end of.

Sparklingbrook · 24/01/2018 13:02

The Daily Mail are going to love this one. Grin They love to insinuate Mumsnetters are bonkers and here's some proof!

FairNotFair · 24/01/2018 13:03

parking savage

Grin @EggsonHeads

BuckysRoboticArm · 24/01/2018 13:03

I actually think you should either remove the picture or at least scribble out the reg, op.

user1495451339 · 24/01/2018 13:03

Maybe when he/she arrived there were other cars there badly parked. It is hardly an issue now as there are no cars there!

Bojangles33 · 24/01/2018 13:03

Do people on Mumsnet have nothing better to do than start parking wars?!?

WooWooSister · 24/01/2018 13:03

I really can't work out why you were upset. There is more than enough space for a car to park in the space on the left and get a baby in and out. So there would be their car and the mini parked in two spaces which is perfectly fine.
I can't believe you made up a random parent with a starving child. Do you often imagine unbelievable crisis situations and accost strangers with them? Your ability to catastrophise is rather worrying.

Nicknacky · 24/01/2018 13:04

I can understand if she had inconvenienced you but it had buggar all to do with you. Do you normally go out looking for things to moan about?

Nikephorus · 24/01/2018 13:04

You know you can read the Reg if the car right? You should have removed it before posting
I've just reported it to Mumsnet to ask them to remove it....
