Aarrgh -Nothing in 3yrs has delurked me until sheer frustration at our buyers!

2 days before exchange and they've pulled out, having delayed an extra month from original completion date.

Not only do I love my house, having spent 2yrs renovating it (link to pics below) so fierce house pride but their timing is awful given I'm already commuting 3.5hrs each way for my job relocation and we'll now likely lose our house we were ready to exchange on..but we're also now screwed in terms of location search as already submitted son's primary school applications!

Reason being; they felt pressured to buy. Odd that a seller would want their no chain buyer to exchange 6m after offer!!

(Slinks off to bath and wine - Utterly shattered at returning to market)

I thought this title was leading to something much different.

McTufty · 23/01/2018 22:03

Two days before exchange in unacceptable in all but exceptional circumstances, which these aren’t. They’re dicks. Sorry OP Flowers

lornski · 23/01/2018 22:04

the english systen for house sales is sh*te!

AtSea1979 · 23/01/2018 22:05

OP YABU to deliberately use a misleading title.

NeverTwerkNaked · 23/01/2018 22:05

Don’t just yell it, place it on a huge poster Grin

gamerchick · 23/01/2018 22:05

That’s a nice house OP!

Jobjobjob · 23/01/2018 22:05

Oh god, I'm due to exchange tomorrow! Wish I hadn't read this!

Sorry op it's shite Wine

abbsisspartacus · 23/01/2018 22:08

This was an entirely different thread in my smutty mind

Lovely house though

InsomniacAnonymous · 23/01/2018 22:10

Lovely house and views OP and I'm in shock at the (low) price having always lived in SE England. I'm so sorry this has happened, the stress must be unbearable.

Happyclownjuggling · 23/01/2018 22:12

Thanks, just so annoyed! Angry

Best of luck Job, hopefully yours goes through ok!

I really like the big sign idea, Never... especially as he's now not moving so maximum neighbours reaction to live down! Grin

And by the way, your house is beautiful!

FabulouslyGlamorousFerret · 23/01/2018 22:17

You've got PAMPHAS GRASS .. you filthy fuckers, no wonder your buyers have withdrawn, they don't want to be sullied by your reputation 😉

uhhuhh · 23/01/2018 22:21

Aw that's shite OP. What are all those... sacks of stuff in your garage? Salt? Grit? Potatoes?

FurCoatFurKnickers · 23/01/2018 22:23

Nice kitchen, small bedrooms, small garden, odd shaped living room, dreadful EE rating, lovely views.

I'd buy it as a weekend retreat but not as a family house tbh.

Happyclownjuggling · 23/01/2018 22:23

I know Fabulously, mil tried to dig it out first time she house sat as concerned it wasn't 'right' for a family with 2 toddlers in case 'wrong types' came round! Shock

I had no idea what she was on about...funny watching her try to explain it though... Grin

Bluelady · 23/01/2018 22:23

Unbelievable.

HermionesRightHook · 23/01/2018 22:25

Complete bastards. I've never bought, so this might happen anyway, but there should be some kind of law (if there isn't) that they have to pay ALL your costs at this point: surveys on the property you may lose, solicitor's fees, the bloody takeaways you had because you were knackered from house hunting, the lot.

grumpy4squash · 23/01/2018 22:25

Gosh, I expected an entirely different thread!

Happyclownjuggling · 23/01/2018 22:27

Uh, biomass boiler - green energy so pour it in hopper q2wks and government sends you £750 q3months. Helps lower the EE costs of a period cottage.

S'ok Fur, I'd happily sell it as a weekend retreat or a family house! Wink

Stable block but no land?

mumofthemonsters808 · 23/01/2018 22:28

I never thought I had a dirty mind, but I must have, I was expecting a very different post lol.

theabysswithin · 23/01/2018 22:28

I also thought this thread was going to be very spicy and was preparing to admire your bottle for demanding a good seeing to...

Happyclownjuggling · 23/01/2018 22:30

Mrs, nope, last owners put up stables then rented fields from next door farmer and used the local 20mile bridleway. We've never had horses.

OP posts:
loveka · 23/01/2018 22:32

The people we were buying from pulled out on the day of exchange, costing us (and our buyer) thousands of pounds. They simply 'changed their minds'.

Unbelievably, 2 months later they changed their minds again and asked if we wanted to buy their house!

Truthstar · 23/01/2018 22:36

Sooo sorry I only clicked on this because I thought it was of an ahem .... intimate nature🙈
Totally not what I was execting this thread to be about!
