AIBU to next time tell him to fuck off?

Parking. I get the frustration for people living near schools but I never park illegally and never block people in. This evening at 4:30 I parked up in my usual spot about 2 doors down from the school as we are not allowed to park in the school car park. Bloke in van pulled in behind me, gesturing wildly. Got out his car and banged on my window, demanding that I move my car so He could park outside his house. Several times I head tilted and said ‘why’ and he repeated himself, each time just a little bit more aggressively. I had turned off the car and picked up my mobile to speak to my eldest to see if he’d picked up a loaf on the way home. Once I’d done that (man still shouting at me),I moved the car across the road but walked back past him to a very insincere ‘thank you’. Repeated again that my car was taxed and insured and that as I was legally parked, under no obligation to move my car. He then got really aggressive and yelled at me that he was ‘going to report’ me for being on my mobile. I laughed and said yes, in a legally parked up car with the engine turned off. So his response to that was that it was illegal to use a mobile in a car.

I shouldn’t have moved, I know. I was wrong, AIBU to stalk that parking space so next time I can tell him to do one?!

Am really shaken.

Wouldn't be the first time for either of you, would it, you goady pair. What are you like eh! Wink

taskmaster · 25/01/2018 19:09

What are we like? Well we're not getting deleted for calling people cunts repeatedly!

Gottagetmoving · 25/01/2018 19:11

Taskmaster
It puzzles me why sometimes, people will call someone stupid or similar, or even worse, but don't get deleted but then others do.
I think a judgement should be made based on whether the description is accurate or not Wink

ILostItInTheEarlyNineties · 25/01/2018 19:12

I'm not saying OP was wrong. I'm not condoning aggressive claims on spaces in roads.
I'm surprised when the man first gestured for OP to move a few feet away she didn't do so. Confused
I'm assuming he didn't gesture in a threatening way, giving her the finger or swearing, so why the need to refuse, asking why and starting to make a phone call? The phrase Red Rag to A Bull springs to mind.

It wasn't inconvenient for OP to move but it was inconveniencing him to park away from his home.
If was a small thing to make his life easier.

Unfortunately he turned out to be a complete prick but there we go.

Estellanpip · 25/01/2018 19:12

Bless you for trying so hard to get a reaction. You've been trying all day. No ones bothered by you, though. Make more of an effort next time :)

Estellanpip · 25/01/2018 19:13

That was to task ⬆️

Gottagetmoving · 25/01/2018 19:14

Wouldn't be the first time for either of you, would it

Estallanpip Yes,...first time for me!... See what you did to me? Grin
I hope this doesn't get me onto the harder stuff now...starting with 'stupid' ... who knows where it will lead?

Estellanpip · 25/01/2018 19:15

Tiresome.

Gottagetmoving · 25/01/2018 19:30

I was trying to be humorous there Estallanpip

I suppose that was a fail Hmm

foxyloxy78 · 25/01/2018 19:45

Of course you are not being unreasonable. You can park anywhere you like on a public road. And if that man doesn't like it he should have bought a house with a bloody drive way.

Gottagetmoving · 25/01/2018 20:05

Oh for goodness sake!... You get deleted for discussing being deleted? Why don't you delete all the posts that use foul language? That's ok is it?

taskmaster · 25/01/2018 20:13

I'm not saying OP was wrong. I'm not condoning aggressive claims on spaces in roads

In your first response you said they were both rude and inconsiderate. OP was parked legally minding her own business when someone banged on her window and starting aggressively demanding she move. Sayig she was in anyway at fault is condoning that behavour and saying she was wrong.

No OP was minding her own business when a driver pulled up and gestured for her to move. I just thought it was a bit rude not to comply with that initially, especially as there were other spaces nearby. It comes across as a bit petulant really.

Of course no one deserves to receive the ensuing verbal abuse this man gave her. That was totally uncalled for.

overnightangel · 25/01/2018 20:30

@ILostItInTheEarlyNineties
Exactly

Estellanpip · 25/01/2018 21:49

I would say so, gotta. I guess I don't see the humour in goading and trying to reignite an argument from 24 hours ago, egging on another poster, Taskmaster who didn't even see it, to call me stupid.
Why haven't you and Taskmaster addressed all the dozens of other people as 'stupid' who share a similar or much stronger opinion than me? I'm curious.

taskmaster · 25/01/2018 21:52

Exactly! An aggressive entitled man demanded she move and you said she was rude not to do as he wanted. Like i said, you condoned his behaviour and blamed her for not giving into him.
Then you got really shirty even though you are reiterating that stance yet again Hmm

taskmaster · 25/01/2018 21:53

Why haven't you and Taskmaster addressed all the dozens of other people as 'stupid' who share a similar or much stronger opinion than me? I'm curious

I have. I said right at the start that anyone who said OP was in anyway wrong was an idiot.

Estellanpip · 25/01/2018 21:57

I see. One calling people idiots and the other calling people stupid.
Can I ask why most of your posts are trying to provoke people?

taskmaster · 25/01/2018 21:57

You called people cunts. Pot, kettle?

Estellanpip · 25/01/2018 21:59

Because I abhor people calling others stupid, the c word fits the bill for that type of bully.
I have worked with adults who were called idiots and stupid and I've seen the damage it does. It is foul.

taskmaster · 25/01/2018 22:23

The c word? You used it happily enough before. Hmm

taskmaster · 25/01/2018 22:24

also, yu don;t know what the word bully means.

You said stupid things, someone told you so. You then called them a cunt. maybe you should just not have said the stupid things?

Gottagetmoving · 25/01/2018 22:24

Why haven't you and Taskmaster addressed all the dozens of other people as 'stupid' who share a similar or much stronger opinion than me? I'm curious

None of those came back at me or argued?
I've never called anyone a cu*t.... I never would,...not even you.
However,..it didn't offend me when you called me that....because...I'm not one.

Estellanpip · 25/01/2018 22:27

You're right, I'm absolutely fine using the word cunt. Was trying not to lower the time and rewind back to yesterday since it had been sorted, but there you go: cunt. Do you feel fulfilled now?
