As above (at the risk of sounding tin foil hat) and if we're not, what the hell is going on in the world, what's causing it?

Sensible comments as ever Sosten, thanks for those.

That's all they've got is mockery, it's a defence mechanism.

Falmer · 26/01/2018 07:42

See you in the queue for microchipping Sosten

It's difficult, well impossible to have any sort of conversation with people that recoil at the mere idea of something. Like I've said already, I've not made up my mind about it but it'd be nice to even start to have a conversation without all the dramatics. Ho- hum

Falmer · 26/01/2018 08:03

Vitalogy people need time to accept it don't they? It's a massive shock to the system. The most difficult part I found was accepting the possibility they may be taking children from innocent parents. This was confirmed on MN last year, when a family lawyer (spero) said something like, at the moment the emphasis is on removal rather than support.

WitchesHatRim · 26/01/2018 08:17

You think that suggesting that some one doesn't actually exist is sensible then? Or that the earth is flat.

Oh and Prof Hawkins does exist, just for those in doubt. I have met him.

humptyboggart · 26/01/2018 08:23

Sounds like conspiracy theorists have their own little "elite " going on. Everyone else is an idiot and they are the true believers- remind you of anything?

Ifailed · 26/01/2018 08:52

I don't like this scanning of the kids finger prints at school to get their lunch

Why? All it shows is that kid A was at a certain place at a certain time. You do realise that schools have been registering pupils presence for years, since the 19th century?

Vitalogy · 26/01/2018 08:57

You think that suggesting that some one doesn't actually exist is sensible then? I haven't said that.

Or that the earth is flat. Or that.

Oh and Prof Hawkins does exist, just for those in doubt. I have met him. Yes, as someone else on the thread has already mentioned, the question I put to them but yet to answer. Did you meet him before or after 1985, because that's when he was supposedly replaced.

Sounds like conspiracy theorists have their own little "elite " going on. Everyone else is an idiot and they are the true believers- remind you of anything? More mockery, is that the best that you've got.

Vitalogy · 26/01/2018 08:59

All it shows is that kid A was at a certain place at a certain time. Is that right.

Lweji · 26/01/2018 09:11

All it shows is that kid A was at a certain place at a certain time.
Is that right.

Yes.

Shocking news.

Where I live we've used finger prints in ID cards for decades.
We use them in passports now too.
At my work people sign in and off with fingerprints.
Big brother hasn't hit us yet.

Lweji · 26/01/2018 09:15

That's all they've got is mockery, it's a defence mechanism.

And it's often the only possible response to irrational arguments that discount reason and evidence.

There's all sorts of evidence for a round earth, but there's no possible argument against "it's flat because 1000s of people have conspired to make us believe it's round".
Quite frankly, only mockery can be left.

Vitalogy · 26/01/2018 09:17

Just out of interest, what country is that? Obviously don't answer if you'd rather not.

Vitalogy · 26/01/2018 09:18

Again, wasn't me that mentioned anything about flat earth.

Falmer · 26/01/2018 09:28

Me neither, I said I wasn't a flat earther and that I had watched the Prof Hawkins video. And before bullets start flying about the alleged child stealing, it was a family lawyer who confirmed the emphasis is on removal rather than support.

OP posts:
Vitalogy · 26/01/2018 09:33

I had watched the Prof Hawkins video. I think you're the only one Falmer, everyone else seems to be deflecting to flat earth or mockery.

geekone · 26/01/2018 09:35

Watch out the tin hats have come to MN
"Men didn't go to the moon"
"The earth is flat"
"Vaccines are evil"
"There are mind altering chemicals in the sky"
"All chemicals are bad (especially dihydrogen monixide)"
"9/11 was an inside job"
"MHRA/FDA/big pharma are holding back on a cure for cancer"

Did I miss any?

geekone · 26/01/2018 09:36

monoxide not monixide

Vitalogy · 26/01/2018 09:45

Quite frankly, only mockery can be left. Not engaging might be a better option.

Falmer · 26/01/2018 09:58

Geek, yes you forgot the child stealing! How immature.

OP posts:
Falmer · 26/01/2018 10:01

Still think a lot of this attitude is fear, which is why it makes sense to discuss it.

OP posts:
Falmer · 26/01/2018 10:04

Bet DM won't use this thread. Wonder why?

OP posts:
Falmer · 26/01/2018 10:11

Sorry, should have said "alleged" child stealing.

OP posts:
geekone · 26/01/2018 10:12

No my pp is the ridiculous response to a ridiculous thread. This type of thinking walks us all right into the hands of those like Donald Trump and the "false news" brigade. It's fear mongoring at its worst. Watch real news, read books and journals and not nonsense on the internet. Research political parties and their representatives. Look to see how you can make society better then go and do something about it. Stop complaining about nonsense and spreading fear on an anonymous forum. If you are worried about the world do something to fix it.

Is that a bit more mature for you.
