As above (at the risk of sounding tin foil hat) and if we're not, what the hell is going on in the world, what's causing it?

You're right, blackberry. Preppers would like other people to be preppers so that any difficulty heading our way is more manageable. Less chaos, more generally getting on with survival . We've had some occasional grid down issues in our area that made me think I need to do some thinking about it. Alternative sources of water, food, light, heat, sanitation, shelter.
Getting all het up about deep state mind control(or whatever )is just another "zombie apocalypse " fantasy to me.
Learning how to work a composting toilet (they did this in Christchurch post earthquake), is much more useful.

specialsubject · 24/01/2018 09:49

Let's hope that homeschooling nutjob is a joke. Otherwise a large number of kids are being brainwashed with this crap. Poor brats, no life skills, brought up intolerant, all critical thinking ability squashed out.

Falmer · 24/01/2018 10:22

special instead of insulting people (homeschooling nutjob) why not simply discuss what it is you disagree with?

Helllllooooooo · 24/01/2018 10:22

Jet fuel fire doesn’t get hot enough to melt straight through steel in the manner it did that day.
And if the Government were behind it, they could easily Doctor the flight lists etc.

Flat Earth - so much evidence to support this. Like I said check out that video. Too much information and right now I feel like not going any further with that topic.

Homeschooling nut really? How about the fact you know nothing about how I educate my kids?
I am still a parent, my role is to protect them from the world but to educate them. Obviously I teach them the Earth is a sphere inline with the curriculum.
On any topic, I just ask them to take information in, but that if it doesn’t sit right them, to question it.
Why would I want to tell young children that the Goverment brainwash, poison and set up false flag attacks? That would be sick

whooptifeckindo · 24/01/2018 10:26

Didn't melt through steel. Undermined the structure.
Homeschooling your kid doesn't mean you are a nut job.
Being a flat earther is just stupid

Ifailed · 24/01/2018 10:29

Brainwashing via tv is real, hence why it is called tv programme.

Ye gods! Truly my flabber is gasted at such ignorance!

WitchesHatRim · 24/01/2018 10:41

Flat Earth - so much evidence to support this.

No there really really isn't.

Helllllooooooo · 24/01/2018 10:52

For me, there are too many inconsistencies with the narrative.

But I’m not interested in sharing my opinions anymore, none of you want to hear the opinions of a raving homeschooler with mental health issues.

If you believe conspiracy theorists are defined by their opinions and that they have mental health issues why entire into conversation?

If something doesn’t feel right, I encourage anyone to question it and look deeper. Brew

Anasnake · 24/01/2018 10:52

Flat Earth ??? Just bonkers

user1497863568 · 24/01/2018 10:55

What is sectioning?

Pittapatter · 24/01/2018 10:59

Watching

whooptifeckindo · 24/01/2018 11:02

As I said below, no problem with someone homeschooling their children.
There is no evidence to support Flat Earth fantasies.
Just because I don't question things that you question, doesn't mean I'm a sheep. In fact, falling for the Flat Earth industry and other conspiracy theory money spinners makes that person a bit of a sheep.

Leilaniiii · 24/01/2018 11:08

Helllllooooooo, regarding 911, you say that mobile phones would not have worked as they were at 30,000 feet. Well, they weren’t that high, clearly. The planes were all flying quite low and well within mobile signal range.

Leilaniiii · 24/01/2018 11:09

Erm, I’m sorry to ask, but what is the evidence for the world being flat?

Leilaniiii · 24/01/2018 11:15

klondikecookie1, we are about to see a reversal in life expectancy. The current generation of children are the first generation ever not expected to live longer than their parents. And it’s nothing to do with austerity, government conspiracies, or any other crap like that. It is almost entirely down to the rubbish diets that people feed their kids these days. For instance, childhood cancers have risen by 40% in the last few years. And the link between that and consumption of processed meat has been well documented.

NameChanger22 · 24/01/2018 12:05

Nigel Farage is definitely a lizard. If you don't believe me just look carefully at his face for a few seconds.

squishysquirmy · 24/01/2018 12:28

"Jet fuel fire doesn’t get hot enough to melt straight through steel..."

Steel does not need to reach melting point to become incapable of supporting a skyscraper. Especially after the building has already suffered structural damage by having a passenger jet fly into it.

Metal becomes more ductile at temperatures well below melting point - that's how blacksmiths bend steel into horseshoe shapes.

Infernos can cause metal structures to collapse, and have done in the past - look up what happened to the accommodation module in the Piper Alpha disaster, for eg.

squishysquirmy · 24/01/2018 12:33

Fuck it, just seen that the pp who mentioned jet fuel is a flat earther.
Trying to engage in a a conversation about forging vs melting temperatures is quite obviously pointless.

Falmer · 24/01/2018 12:34

Another disappointment, I don't believe in flat earth but I was interested to hear helllllooooos thoughts on it. I think I may even have been able to listen without insulting him/her. You know, with me being an adult and all that?

OP posts:
whooptifeckindo · 24/01/2018 12:37

Hard to even engage with a flat earther without laughing at them. It's like people who think humans and dinosaurs coexisted or the world was created in 6 days. Feel sad for them, yes. Engage in debate? What's the point. They aren't open to reason.

If I suspected the world was flat, and that the idea it wasn't was all part of some massive conspiracy I would want to put such a shocking theory to the test. Wouldn't you? If I didn't trust google earth, books, scientists, airlines, TV footage or anyone who's ever been on a plane I might try walking beyond the horizon. I might walk up a mountain. I might even buy a plane ticket somewhere and sit by the window.

But someone who is so desperate to believe that the earth is flat that they close their eyes to even the most obvious evidence does not have great critical thinking skills, and very little curiosity.

squishysquirmy · 24/01/2018 12:51

And I don't think I was particularly insulting????

specialsubject · 24/01/2018 12:51

FFS, obviously homeschooling does not equal nut job. Is everyone else also incapable of logical thinking and understanding? Or are you just doing the usual MN selective reading?

This fool is babbling about all sorts of nonsense that if he/she had paid attention at school he/she would be able to understand is nonsense. Unfortunately he/she didn't, has a totally closed mind, no logical reasoning or critical thinking skills and refusal to understand science.

and he/she has bred and is brainwashing the kids to be the same. THAT is my objection and why he/she deserves all the insults.

poor, poor kids. Denying education is abuse.

I must have imagined my trip to NZ.
