Smoked salmon with really good brown bread and butter with capers - followed by a rare steak with fries, green beans and a bearnaise sauce - followed by a cheese board with really smelly gooey specimens and those black cheese crackers - finally banoffee pie Blush

Mince and tatties is what I imagine gets served for every meal in hell.

I don’t have a single favourite food though, so I’d go with whatever I fancied at the time.

I'd have oysters to start, with shallot vinegar and a glass of champagne. Then a bizarre collection of my most favourite things - tofu in black bean sauce, dal makhani with naan, tapas, all washed down with a large Amarone. Cheese to follow with all the lovely extras and port. Then a nice cup of tea and a cigarette.

So difficult.

To start, the spinach and ricotta tortellini inbutter and sage I had in a restaurant in Venice

Main would be the best burger on earth, from The Spotted Pig in New York... or the madly expensive yet absolutely perfect cote de boeuf we had in a little restaurant in Paris with its own butcher counter.

Dessert I don't usually eat, but the chocolate cake at Theo Randall is the best dessert I've ever had.

And then a really good coffee.

Scottish langoustines for starters, then fillet steak served with herb and garlic butter, Home made chips and Home made onion rings then for pudding I would have pavlova all washed down with champagne and a very nice red for the steak. My other option would be the tasting menu from Tom Kitchin accompanied by the matched wine menu.

Beef Wellington. With really rare fillet steak. Dauphinoise potatoes. Courgettes, mushrooms and onions fried in garlic and butter. No pudding - but a large plate of stinking oozing blue cheeses. Lots of champagne.

The tastiest, juiciest, tenderest rib of beef the world has ever seen, loads of roasties, yorkies, loads of veg. Apple crumble with thick double cream.

Linguine vongole, bianco – no effing tomatoes, just white wine, garlic, tiny bit of chilli and parsley.

Medium-rare steak with fries thin enough to rustle, loudly, covered with salt. Buttered cavolo nero.

Black Forest gateau (yes, I was a child in the 70s).

I don't drink usually, but with my death row dinner I'd have some frozen margaritas. And a very very good espresso or two after pudding, with fudgy brown sugar.

Oh, and I'd have a couple of glasses of bone-dry, ice-cold champagne to start.

peachy, looking at your choices, I think we have quite similar tastes! Love the Belgian bun idea. It'd have to be a Greggs one for me, the ones as big as your face. Grin

Either :

Steak, baked potato, buttered veg, baguette, choc cake, coffee and red wine

Or

Chicken dupiaza, rice, garlic naan, onion bhaji, dark chocolate torte, red wine, coffee.

If we're doing a Gregg's one :

Cheese pasty
Tomato soup
Cheese and onion crisps
A rice biscuit or a flapjack
Diet coke

I've been low-moderate carbing since having gestational diabetes a couple of years ago. So I'd say fuck it and:

Start with some sort of pasta or risotto
Pizza - holy fuck do I miss pizza. A nice stone baked one smothered in ALL the cheese and roasted veg
Then I'd go to the colony at the Beaumont and have them make me one of their £10 ice cream sundaes with all the toppings
Then chocolates to finish

And a full sugar coke as well as lots of cocktails.

Fuck you, ineffectual pancreas!!
