VLogger asking for a free hotel room and gets a beautiful reply from hotel owner.

Bearing in mind the publicity this has generated since the story went viral this week, she appears to have barely added to her follower count at all - a few thousand extras is nothing on social media.

This is perhaps hardly surprising given that most of the followers seem to be other vloggers and ‘influencers.’

Companies giving third parties items/experience for implied favourable reviews is already pretty shady, it gets even shadier if it those third parties that are making the initial contact with companies and implying they'll get favourable reviews in return for free stuff, especially if the third party has influence over impressionable people, like young adults/children. Which is essentially what this "social medial influencer" has done.

She is unattractive, badly made up, has weird pink hands and mouth, and is intolerably dull, self absorbed, and irritating. A talentless scrounger. And who the fuck could sit through 17 minutes of that drivel???

I would be embarrassed to have someone like that within 100 yards of my business, hardly the sort of person anyone with any integrity or intelligence might want to be associated with.

If I were in this situation I would do the same as this chap - give her the opportunity to NOT stay there, for free, due to the significant benefits of not having something like that associated with a decent business. Win win for him.

He publicly published her email with a scathing put down to humiliate her, then promptly sent it viral to get likes, hits, and attention for himself and his OWN social media channels.

YouTube is an extremely visual form of entertainment so people are going to focus on appearances a bit more than say, the radio.

A successful vlogger's personality / wit / style should be able to overcome any question over their appearance. I think this vlogger has failed to demonstrate enough of the above, hence the comments on how she looks.

For the record, I think neither have come out looking good and so far I have managed to avoid watching either vlog to avoid contributing to whatever pay for clicks structure.

And 22yr old females are grown women, not girls.

She did nothing wrong in asking, and like it or not that's how some make a living. Yes the hotel didnt have to agree but he was a dick for replying by shammingg and bullying her online instead of ethier ignoring her email or just saying no.

So basically I have been asked for a 'collaboration' by bloggers nearly every day for the last 5 years or so. Every single person who has a blog thinks they can use this to get free shit. Half the blogs who've asked us have maybe 10 followers or 3 posts and they still try their luck. I would love to be able to post something like this hotel has... at least it may get them to stop asking all the time and I can get on with doing my actual job and stop having these shitty emails filling my inbox.
