Saw the matinee this afternoon and honestly think it was the si god greatest cultural experience of my entire life and now all I want to do is talk about it forever Grin

We weren't in a cluster. We were both, most definitely, in a fluster though!

Ulysses · 29/01/2018 16:06

I’ve just got tickets fir a September as a surprise for DHs birthday the week before. Paid £200 for row K. Premium seats were £250 each Shock!

TroelsLovesSquinkies · 29/01/2018 16:37

Dd has been begging, she says YANU to sell it all to buy tickets

AlexanderHamilton · 29/01/2018 16:42

Chimchar they won't allow either of those I'm afraid. The best you can hope for is to ring ticketmaster now & ask if they can transfer them to your card.

ReappearingWoman · 29/01/2018 16:44

I've got tickets for 12th feb & im counting the days til I'm thereGrin

sidsgranny · 29/01/2018 16:45

Am so excited - managed to get front row tickets in the new release today! Not till October but going with my best friend and her daughter (my god daughter) so will be a proper girly day out!

lubeybooby · 29/01/2018 16:45

took 40 mins after they were released with a few heart attacks along the way but got tickets for end of October. I CAN'T WAIT gahhhhh

yawning801 · 29/01/2018 16:47

Can someone pleeeeease explain the hype? I know I should RTFT but I really can't be bothered today. Why is everyone so obsessed?

Thehairthebod · 29/01/2018 16:49

Yes, can someone explain the hype to me as well?!

This is the guy who wrote the songs for 'Moana' isn't it? I LOVE Moana, but I am intrigued by what is so good about Hamilton - it sounds quite a dull premise!

Whatthefoxgoingon · 29/01/2018 16:50

No idea yawning, I’m just going with the flow. Went on the website and got tickets straight away so thought why not?

Thanks for the info bruffin!

AlexanderHamilton · 29/01/2018 16:53

I think it's the fact that it's so innovative & different. The rapping, harmonies in who lives who dies, the colour blind casting & the cleverness of the lyrics combined with the innovative staging & choreography. Although I'd heard the soundtrack though I only fully appreciated its genius when I watched a bootleg recording.

bruffin · 29/01/2018 16:58

Its intelligent and witty, very singable tunes, great story and performances. Dance and costume and staging excellent.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 29/01/2018 17:04

DD knows it off by heart. She is obsessed.

we saw it beginning of january and it was brilliant!!! DD and her friend queued outside afterwards (they have a roped off bit to wait it) and most of the cast came out for pictures and chatted even though it was freezing!!!

i admit I have gone on today when the next lot of tickets went on sale and bought for her 18th in october next year.

I love King George so much. The line "I will kill your friends and family to remind you of my love" is genius!!

TheFlis12345 · 29/01/2018 17:04

Michelle Obama described Hamilton as “the best piece of art in any form that I have ever seen in my life.”

That should tell you plenty!

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 29/01/2018 17:07

and midnight it is paperless tickets-so impossible to sell on (I think)
The purchaser needs to be there with email and ID.

Don't think you can re-sell and I would never buy in case you can't get in!!

Ireallylovetea2 · 29/01/2018 17:10

Chimchar, the person whose credit card is used MUST be one of the people attending, they dont make any exceptions, so your dh would have to have one of the tickets.

Ireallylovetea2 · 29/01/2018 17:24

My oh and I were lucky enough to see it for free at the beginning of December, before it opened to the general public. I knew nothing about it (had actually never heard of it) and my other half hates hip-hop, etc, but it was AMAZING and we're planning on seeing it again with the dc. I actually had tears in my eyes at some point. Time seemed to fly, and I was disappointed it ended so quickly.

chim , either your dh will have to take your dc himself or you'll have to go with him, but without your dc, or you'll have to rebook the tickets using your card (if YOU want to go with your DC). They are honestly the only choices,; they're really strict and will NOT allow/accept either of your suggestions.

Ireallylovetea2 · 29/01/2018 17:24

Oh, lyra, YANBU!

Seniorcitizen1 · 29/01/2018 17:32

Saw it in NYC - its good but not sure I’d sell everything to go see it again

Chimchar · 29/01/2018 21:40

Thanks everyone.
It's a lesson in reading the small print before committing. Ffs. We're twats.

I have booked and paid for new tickets and am just really hoping that they will refund the ones that dh has booked. He has emailed the customer service address. Bloody hell. Stressful stuff!

AlexanderHamilton · 29/01/2018 21:42

They've said they will refund chimchar there might just be £3 admin fee.

Chimchar · 29/01/2018 21:51

Yeah..that's what we read on the Hamilton FAQ site. Can afford to give up the six quid! Can not afford to give up the cost of the whole two tickets now we can't use!

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 29/01/2018 21:59

Went on the website today and bloody hell - can people really afford £200 per ticket? Shock

TheFlis12345 · 29/01/2018 22:10

They go for thousands on Broadway! Lots of Americans are flying to London to see it here as that is cheaper!

Xeneth88 · 29/01/2018 22:13

Saw it and to be honest wasn't thrilled at all by it. Wasn't a waste of money but wasn't at all, all it's cracked up to be. I've seen much much better.
