I'm glad I downloaded the album and did some basic research (on the bus there) but it's not essential... I may have just booked again...

LIZS · 29/01/2018 12:15

Dancer , think we have got similar for July. Friends had that area pre Christmas and had a clear view.

goose1964 · 29/01/2018 12:24

I've read the book. Not too keen on seeing it as a musical

Chocolatecoin · 29/01/2018 12:43

Branleuse - do listen to the tracks and have an idea of the story before you go. It will still be amazing if you don't - but also a little confusing especially as some of the actors play two roles.

Whatthefoxgoingon · 29/01/2018 13:10

I got some tickets for row D in stalls, thanks for heads up. No idea if they are good seats, I just bought them on a whim. I have no idea about the story or any expectations, so going in blind here lol. I will take DD as DH not keen on musicals!

Branleuse · 29/01/2018 13:12

oh ffs, same actor for 2 roles is going to be difficult. I really struggle with storylines if actors look similar to each other.

MyVisionsComeFromSoup · 29/01/2018 13:13

I got tickets earlier today for August - towards the back of the Grand Circle, so not the best, but they were £37.50, rather than the £200 there had been available up til now Smile. DD is going to be a happy bunny when she checks her phone.

MonaTheMoaner · 29/01/2018 13:17

DH and I saw it in January and it genuinely was the most incredible experience. Hoping one day I’ll get to see it again but I got these tickets on pre-order in January 2017 so I may not.

TheNemesisOfLame · 29/01/2018 13:20

Going tonight...

Dancergirl · 29/01/2018 13:49

Thanks lizs

Where did you sit mona?

MonaTheMoaner · 29/01/2018 13:51

Up in the Grand Circle, Row E, a row from the front. Had an amazing view of the whole stage from up there although the walk down was pretty steep and lofty.

That’s an edited Instagram view. This is one taken directly from my seat.

I got tickets today for myself, DH and DDs who will be 10 and 11 when we watch it in August. I am super excited (40th birthday present to myself for me!) but am wondering if at £100 a pop I am wasting my money taking my DDs.... They are massive musical fans, but I am worried it may be over their head... I am not too worried about the swearing etc, just will they get enough out of it to justify the expense!

Dancergirl · 29/01/2018 14:19

Brilliant thank you mona that's what I have - Grand circle Row E Smile

Dd is going to be thrilled with her birthday present Smile

funuffle · 29/01/2018 14:34

Saw in previews it was very very good

I knew the soundtrack inside out and I think the London cast still need time to bed in to get anywhere near matching the original cast (I'm aware I saw a preview and this can be seen as a bit of an unfair comment)

It's definitely worth seeing, I still listen to it on loop and have already booked my next trip

However I have to disagree with the poster above re Burr... as in PC as it is casting an actor with a lisp as the narrator in a rap musical is an interesting decision Hmm (although I know he has a lot of support in various online groups)

funuffle · 29/01/2018 14:35

un pc **

bettytaghetti · 29/01/2018 15:14

Have booked for September; hope it won't be a very expensive mistake as DH not overly fond of musicals, eek! He's bound to be away on business though (as usually happens when I book theatre tickets) so I'll probably end up taking a friend!
For anyone wondering about seat views etc this may help seating plan

DeccaMitfordsEntryVisa · 29/01/2018 15:17

I bought tickets last January, going to see it next week. I am very excited!

midnightmisssuki · 29/01/2018 15:19

i dont even know what/who hamilton is but i know i have a friend selling tickets for the event - 4th row from the front.

Bluebell878275 · 29/01/2018 15:24

Thanks for the info LadyIsabellaWrotham I have just booked two tickets for September at an affordable price!! Seats are in the Grand Circle Row G so not the best..... but... at least we are going. My DSD is going to be over the moon!! Will give them to her for her Birthday in March - don't know how I'm going to keep it a secret for so long..... Grin

bruffin · 29/01/2018 15:25

Midnight
Your friend needs to be careful as she needs to be in the theatre with credit card and id to pick up the tickets and they count your party size, so unless she is going whovere buys the tickets wont be able to get in.

Op

Loved it, both my dc have managed to see it twice already.

iwantavuvezela · 29/01/2018 15:25

midnight your friend can't sell on their tickets, they have very strict rules, the person who paid for the tickets has to be there.

I got tickets today, it's right up in the rafters! (£37.50) tickets, anyone had them before. I just couldn't afford the £100 tickets for me and DD.

Chocolatecoin · 29/01/2018 15:27

Midnight - if your friend is selling tickets hopefully you mean that your friend (or whoever paid for the tickets) is still going. There is no resale allowed on tickets, at least for London shows, so unless your friend is actually going to attend the tickets are not valid.

bruffin · 29/01/2018 15:27

whatinthefox

Row d are very good tickets, its where we sat in preview.

Chimchar · 29/01/2018 15:55

We got tickets!! Grin

Two tickets for me and dd to go in August. So pleased.

We have fucked up a bit though...both me and dh we're trying today and he got some first and paid for them using his card. It's me who will be going with dd though, so wondering if they will let me in with his credit card and his ID, alongside my ID with a matching address, or at worst, he will have to come to the theatre with us, and show his id etc and hope they let me in with dd.

We were just in such a cluster trying to pay before the time ran out. Blush
