Definitely recommend reading a synopsis about it before going - it's a hip hop/R'n'B opera, very little if any of it is actually spoken.

It's just amazing!!
DH and I went 10 days ago and have booked to go again in April, taking my mum, brother and his sister as a birthday/Christmas treat for them.

Gah! I really want to see it again. Next time I'm in London I might just roll up and see if there are any returns. Looking forward to Mary Poppins Returns too as Lin-Manuel Miranda is in it.

We finally saw it last night and it was incredible! Every performance was on point, one of the best nights we have ever had at the theatre- and we have seen most of the musicals out there.

I can heartily recommend the Matcham box for a special occasion. Very roomy with chairs you can move around to get the best view. We felt very pampered by our butler, with no need to queue for drinks and ice creams in the interval. We even had a private loo just for the box!

We saw it on the original company’s last day too and I was amazed. I’ve had the soundtrack for a while while dh went in blind and he loved it too. I couldn’t believe the energy of it, I simply wasn’t prepared for how unrelenting the pace was. Utterly enthralling to watch, it must be bloody exhausting for them to perform to that level every day.

We're going on Friday 21st... have been counting down for months now.

So excited.

I took my son for his birthday in October and it was amazing, just blew me away! I've just booked tickets today for a matinee in the Easter hols for £37.50 each. Hope the view is ok as last time we had great seats and lots of leg room

Haven't seen it, but some friends sent recently and were very 'Meh' about it. I won't be going as I hate musicals!

Just searched for Hamilton threads as need an outlet... I'm obsessed! I saw it in September, was blown away. I can't stop listening to the soundtrack; I'm totally addicted (is anyone else trying to learn all the words?!). Hardly anyone I know has even heard of it (well, until I started going on and on).

I mean, I've always been fond of musicals, but I can't believe how much Hamilton has made me into a slightly crazed fanatic!

I know @empmalswa
It was our first time watching it, and it was sheer coincidence...didn't plan it, but I'm so glad we went then. Everyone we spoke to was there on their third or fourth time. They all said that it was the best performance they'd seen. Emotions were running high. Cast and audience crying! It sounds over the top to say this, but I feel so blown away by it. I feel like I want to relive it again.

You picked a key night to go. Last night was the end of the original London cast.

Brilliant, isn't it, Chimchar. I went back in March and still think about it. Just wonderful.

We went this evening.
I cannot begin to tell you how incredible it was.... I'm utterly blown away.
Really, if you're in two minds about seeing it, go. Grin

You should be able to sell them to someone in the returns queue if you find no takers.

I have three tickets going spare for tomorrow night in London if anyone's interested? Got 6 tickets for £37.50 each and 3 people have dropped out. I cant return them to the box office as it's less than 48 hours notice!

I won the lottery last week. The front row tickets are not best in the house as you are very close to the stage and its quite high, so you miss out on footwork and have to stretch to see the back. It was still amazing though.
In all honesty though, its quite a small theatre, so I cant imagine there are any seats that are that bad

We were in the grand circle and while the leg room is appalling the view was fabulous. My 12 year old adored it and we would both love to go back

davisday · 20/10/2018 15:54

Yes do enter the lottery, if you win it's tickets in the front row.

Also there is a returns queue, you need to be armed with cash in the day though, so it really is more for people who live locally.

There is also a ballot you can register for, which allocates tickets (presumably late returns) a couple of days ahead. So if you know when you will be in London may be worth a try.

Thanks. I live in Scotland so was trying to take advantage of being in London soon.

Tickets are available until end of March. Expect the next booking period release to be quite soon....

Report

The £39.50 tix are grand circle which are high up, far back and minimal leg room. £200 tend to be the decent stalll seats and the pick of the royal circle. £100 will get you back of the stalls and royal circle area. Some cheap tix for slips are usually available but with restricted view. If you ever go for them go for the right so you can see king George on the left.

You need to register for notifications of new ticket releases, as bookings are released across several months in one go.
