I'm here publicly admitting (although with name change) that I'm 27, married and a mother of one and I like to sleep cuddling my jelly cat penguin my hubby bought me when I was 18 Blush

Anyone else a bit random?

I pat the top of my head if I can't read something... it's because I'm looking for my glasses but it must look weird when they are not there!

PinkHeart5914 · 16/01/2018 21:55

I have my childhood teddy with me in bed every night, I have even been known to wake up if teddy falls out the bed in the night yet sometimes I don’t wake when my baby wakes Blush

Dh accepted teddy shares the bed a long time ago

UterusUterusGhali · 16/01/2018 21:56

I do similar, mum touching my left nork when I go to write anything; I'm looking for my pen which is in my breast pocket at work.

PenguinCuddler300 · 16/01/2018 21:57

@PinkHeart5914 I can't get into bed without my penguin Blush

Glumglowworm · 16/01/2018 22:00

If something, especially something cold or hot, touches one arm/foot/leg I need the same touch for the other side. My best friend knows if she pokes one arm I will turn so she can poke the other Blush

Mybabystolemysanity · 16/01/2018 22:01

I have to say "be careful on that road..." to DH and another male friend whenever they get in the car. If I don't, I worry irrationally that they'll have an accident and it will be my fault for not saying it. I am protecting them with the phrase, I tell you!

PippaPug · 16/01/2018 22:01

I’m in a live in Nanny...my boyfriend bought me a penguin before he went away as he saw how much I loved them (was at a zoo) it has a name and we also have 2 others....the original gets transported to and from our flats each week 🙈 and I have a little baby penguin that comes with me at work (easy to pack) and I hold it in my hand when I’m about to go to sleep 🙈🙈🙈

calmandbright · 16/01/2018 22:02

So many Blush stuff like, I pretend I'm trapped in a log cabin in a thunderstorm to get to sleep, I eat weird food combos (seriously weird), i tap musical patterns with my toes to name but a few Grin

ClaryFray · 16/01/2018 22:04

I have a teddy called Lucky with whom I cuddle nightly and pout if DP chucks him out of bed of bed.

kirler90 · 16/01/2018 22:04

I have to check my doors are locked and all electrics are off about 10 times before I go to bed or go out some where

PippaPug · 16/01/2018 22:04

Oh and I can’t sleep without a cover over my body and my feet have to be in the bed as otherwise the monster under the bed may grab them - totally rational of course!

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 16/01/2018 22:05

I'm another one who sleeps with a teddy Blush. We are both 45, and I can't sleep without him. I do, of course, turn his face to the wall if there is anything going on in the bedroom that might impinge upon his innocence.

I don't take him on holiday, because I am paranoid that the airport security won't believe a 45 yo with a teddy bear, and will slash him up looking for drugs!! I realise how unlikely this is, but the thought brings me out in an actual sweat. The thought of the meltdown I would subsequently have in airport security makes it not worth the risk!
I do miss him though Blush

ClaryFray · 16/01/2018 22:06

The monster under the bed is real.

I also turn the light off on the stairs and then sprint to my bed because those monsters that come out in the dark!

PenguinCuddler300 · 16/01/2018 22:08

@ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs I know I never take cordy (he's a jellycat penguin) away with me either. I really wanted to take him with me to the hospital when I had our daughter but I didn't think they would appreciate it Grin

I have to sleep with pjs on and always a duvet not matter how hot!

GrooovyLass · 16/01/2018 22:16

Glumglowworm I thought I was the only weirdo person who did that! I can accidentally touch something with my left hand and it's so hot that it hurts but I'll still have to touch it with my right hand.

Also I panic if someone coming out of a toilet cubicle sees me walk into a toilet cubicle.

Actually my freakiness should probably have its own thread!

Huntinginthedark · 16/01/2018 22:16

@PippaPug
That's a bit freaky. I am exactly the same on both counts.

LittleCandle · 16/01/2018 22:16

I have quite a few animals in bed with me. Foxy sits up by my pillows. He is retired from cuddle duty but likes to keep an eye on me. I have a Niffler that sits beside him at night (because you can never be too careful with a Niffler), I sleep with a very shy red panda who hides under the covers all the time, and Andromeda the camel sleeps on the top of the bed near my feet. During the day Billy and Carter, a couple of my bears, sit on the bed and watch the Niffler.

I'm not weird at all. This is perfectly normal behaviour for someone in their early 50s. I'm also single, so can please myself.

LegallyBrunet · 16/01/2018 22:19

I'm in my twenties, at university and have two beanie baby cats that I cuddle in bed on a night. They even come on holiday with me. I also have a thing about playing with the cloth tags on clothes if I get nervous?

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 16/01/2018 22:24

I'm so happy to know I'm not the only one with a bear/ bedmate! I cannot believe my bear doesn't have feelings. His fur has all pretty much been loved off and he only had one eye, and a few holey bits. I heard a quite once which I loved , "It takes a lot of love to turn a shop bear into a real bear" Grin

I do have other freakish ways, too many to mention Blush

user1471558723 · 16/01/2018 22:33

I can't sleep without my hot water bottle.
My hot water bottle has a name and a personality. He has been known to "speak" to my children. Sometimes when I take his fluffy cover off to be washed, he shouts " don't look " and " quick cover me up, i'm nude!"

CrashBangWollop · 16/01/2018 22:35

@Mybabystolemysanity I do something similar with DH when he's going out on his motorbike - once he's all geared up and ready to go he has to come back to the front door and I kiss the front of his helmet!

Strangely it's only when he's going out without me, if I'm going out on mine with him then I don't feel the need to do it!!

Also can't sleep with feet out of the bed, and I run along the landing into bed after switching off the lights- those pesky

CrashBangWollop · 16/01/2018 22:35

Monsters!!

(Posted too soon lol)

IAmBreakmasterCylinder · 16/01/2018 22:40

If I can’t sleep I mentally unpack and arrange all my belongings into an imaginary new house.

MsVestibule · 16/01/2018 22:42

I still suck my thumb. A lot.

I have to walk on the left of people.
