If you have a coffee machine at home how many cups do you drink a day?

I had a Tassimo for Christmas. My intake of coffee has considerably increased since. I'm not sure that's good.
Does the novelty wear off eventually?

I used to be a big tea drinker but liked an occasional latte. I have hardly drunk tea since Christmas day (although i have tea capsules as well).

Great gift. Didn't mean to sound like a coffee snob.

I think Oreo hot chocolates would be popular here too.

n0ne · 16/01/2018 20:27

I try to limit myself to 2 cups. I'll also have a builders' tea first thing so that's plenty of caffeine for one day. And I always have the last one no later than 3pm so it doesn't affect my sleep. Herbal tea only in the evenings.

halfwitpicker · 16/01/2018 20:28

This is why I will not get a coffee machine at home.

Sparklingbrook · 16/01/2018 20:29

I need the revolving stand too. I will have my nose pressed up B&M's window at 9am.

The Oreo hot chocolate really tastes Oreoy. Grin

I had my blood pressure monitored for a while and it was fine when I cut down my coffee.

In my 20s I used to buy a latte to take to work with a double espresso to knock back first to kick start my day!!

Unicorn81 · 16/01/2018 20:36

Mine has decreased since getting the machine, maybe 1 to 2 a day. I like the breakfast tea for tassimo and the hot choc at night sometimes

I have an aga so I have a clever pot that goes on it and I grind the beans.

But; I have made a discovery. I hate hate HATE instant coffee, but Aldi Alcafe, the Americano one, that’s like ground beans not the freeze dried granules, is incredible. Seriously drinkable.

Please do get a travel mug not just throw away ones; the environment would thank you for it and so will your grand kids.

Sparklingbrook · 16/01/2018 20:40

I don't like those travel mugs. I have only bought 7 of the disposable ones, and I have no grandchildren. Grin

I never minded instant coffee, but drank a lot of tea.

Oh I will need to try that Aldi instant. I like the Starbucks instant but it’s a bit pricey.

Another bean to cup here.

I am bad. During the week 3 maybe 4 mugs. Weekends probably double figures each day.

IthinkImislaid10years · 16/01/2018 20:54

I have hated most travel mugs I've tried, especially if they have metal. Most have a funny mouth bit.

I have this plastic one and it's not bad. Not as good as a proper mug though.

I think about coffee far too much.

Sparklingbrook · 16/01/2018 20:57

I have tried loads of travel mugs. Many hours spent on the sidelines of junior footy. YY they all had uncomfortable mouthpieces, and made your drink taste funny.

I do think a mug/cup is the ideal. But not for the car.

zzzz there's something very Freudian going on with your hot drinks!

ZenNudist · 16/01/2018 21:22

I have a Nespresso latte maker. I have 1-2 (decaf) a week. Dh maybe few more. Rest of the time i drink herbal tea and dh decaff instant. I limit myself to 'treat' lattes and also have 2-3 take out coffees a week. The machine at home hives a viable alternative to weekend trips to costa

Highly recommend the Nespresso silver takeaway mug. Its not leaky (i carry it everywhere) and fits in car cup holder as its compact.

0 cups, but it was a present for my husband, I don't like coffee. I woukd say his consumption has gone up slightly but only because it's more convenient. So from 1 to 2 large mugs of coffee on the weekend, still 1 during the week.
