If you have a coffee machine at home how many cups do you drink a day?

I had a Tassimo for Christmas. My intake of coffee has considerably increased since. I'm not sure that's good.
Does the novelty wear off eventually?

I used to be a big tea drinker but liked an occasional latte. I have hardly drunk tea since Christmas day (although i have tea capsules as well).

DH got himself a Tassimo too at Christmas and probably has 3 a day during the week and more at the weekend, He's teetotal so a cappuccino is his evening treat.

If you grow veggies you could use the used coffee capsules as slug repellent. It involves cutting the foil/plastic bit that gets pierced (lid?) off and then place round your veggies.

We have a nespresso so I pop the tops/lids off and push in the soil around the veggies.

Also has anyone tried the refillable nespresso pods?

Costco or Amazon subscribe and save are cheapest for pods

Nespresso machine here, usually 2 a day. Had it 3 years now and the novelty has definitely not worn off....

LadyKyliePonsonbyFarquhar · 16/01/2018 17:51

Nespresso machine here and never more than one coffee a day, although before we bought it, it was more like one a month.

Oly5 · 16/01/2018 17:55

I still think these machines are terrible for the environment!

I have had a bean to cup since 2013.
When I am at home I have a mug first thing in the morning.
Sometimes I have a mug at "coffee" time, sometimes I have a mug in the evening, but mostly just the one mug per day.
I do buy very good beans, though ;-)

thenewaveragebear1983 · 16/01/2018 18:17

That’s interesting about the recycling - I wonder if dolce gusto do a similar thing? Do you have to empty and rinse them all?

BakedBeans47 · 16/01/2018 18:18

I have a bean to cup machine I try and have no more than 2 cups a day.

Pumperthepumper · 16/01/2018 18:26

I’ve got a chemex, which I got instead of a nespresso because I was worried about the pods not being recycled, and I love it. I drink about three cups a day. It’s the one thing I’d replace immediately if it broke.

Sparklingbrook · 16/01/2018 18:29

I feel happier knowing I can recycle the Tassimo capsules now.

OP why do t you just get a travel cup then no waste on the take away ones

mumof2sarah · 16/01/2018 18:43

We have a nespresso coffee machine here. I don't drink any coffee just one cup of tea a day. My DP has between 2&5 a day but he said he's going to cut it down to 2 times a day x

thenewaveragebear1983 · 16/01/2018 18:44

Just looked at the TerraCycle website- does anyone know if they recycle other brands or just tassimo? Dolce gusto say the pods can be added to household recycling, but our local council does not recycle black plastic so I suppose this doesn’t apply. The nearest recycling point for TerraCycle is 45 miles away, so I’m guessing a 90 mile round trip might negate the eco element!

Majuna · 16/01/2018 18:45

B&M sell the capsules.

Sparklingbrook · 16/01/2018 18:49

Thanks Majuna Smile They are cheaper than the supermarket too. Plus a revolving stand. I need the revolving stand.

I have a Tassimo and the novelty doesn't wear off. I try to limit myself to two cups a day. One Kenco XL and one Baileys Macchiato Latte.

Amazon is quite cheap for pods, and Asda quite regularly sell 3 packs for £10 on certain ones.
