... to feel disgusted at fox-chasing toff-twits!

On my way to a local town for lunch today, we had to slow down and stop as a horse came galloping up towards us in the middle of the road. On his back sat a dandified twit who was looking for his hounds. In the nearby field some 100 (I kid you not) other starched twits sat on brainwashed horses with hungry hounds running amok. Traffic swayed and stopped as these twits had clearly lost the little sense they had and were dispersing all over the highway, horses looking dazed at being led among cars at great speed on slippery tarmac. Hounds confusedly sniffing all over the road and verges. How much had these twit-toffs drunk? It was not yet noon!

My friends in our car tried to calm me down saying it must be a drag when all of a sudden a poor defenseless fox jumped on the dry-stone wall looking wild-eyed as it tried to determine whether he was safer making a run for it across a busy road or turn back into a field of crazed, uncontrolled hounds and drunken (British?) twits. The fox froze and the driver of my car sped on as I screamed with panic for the predictable fate of the fox.

Why the f*ck is a supposedly civilized country allowing this kind of savagery to continue?

oh do sod off dear.

Marymaymay · 13/01/2018 23:01

I don’t understand why the pro hunters are unable to argue anything other than

OP may or may not find fishing/shooting acceptable (based on zero evidence)

Hunt sabs can be violent

OP doesn’t like posh people

Is there seriously NO other defence of hunting?

sameoldtat · 13/01/2018 23:01

I think the poster was incandescent with rage while writing as I would have been, hence the writing style. Bumpowdersneezeonandsnot, it's not clever and it doesn't make you smarter to put people down........dickhead

counterpoint · 13/01/2018 23:01

The Hunt is a countryside tradition, keeping fox populations down.

Example of twit-thinking.

Middleoftheroad · 13/01/2018 23:05

OP there is no argument for defending fox hunting as a sport.

That's why supporters are trying to deflect the argument.

LouiseBrooks · 13/01/2018 23:06

Unicorn just out of interest if you don't like it, why do you allow the hunt on your land? It seems rather contradictory.

counterpoint · 13/01/2018 23:07

I used the term 'toffs' as a derogatory term for these people who are clearly moneyed but otherwise have no humanity. I happened to be with "posh" people going for an expensive lunch. I have nothing against people with money. I object to anyone who is cruel to animals (or children and old people and anyone who is weak).

Oooh that's brought the 'twit count' up to 11 Shock Grin

Or does it not count as it was hyphenated?

mustbemad17 · 13/01/2018 23:10

I'm surprised...usually when fox hunting comes up so does the issue about chickens. Usually along the lines of 'have you seen what one fox can do to a hen house in one night??!'

When you suggest that chicken keepers fox proof their coops, you get called a 'townie' 😆

Ok, completely understand, just makes me sad thinking of those poor cats Sad

Rebeccaslicker · 13/01/2018 23:10

Fortunately as always there are more nice people than there are pricks who think animals are for sport:

LadyDeadpool · 13/01/2018 23:10

The hunts don't work for fox control! As soon as you kill one another one moves in, you can try and comfort your aiding people in hunting down and terrifying a small animal if you like but it's absolute bullshit.
Anything that involves killing a sentient being for sport is wrong no matter what that animal is or how rich you are but just imagine a group of "chavs" on a council estate chasing down animals with a pack of staffys how long do you think it would be before they were up on charges and the dogs destroyed?

mustbemad17 · 13/01/2018 23:10

Mr if you're on FB search 'Celia Hammond Animal Trust' they have regular updates on there

Middleoftheroad · 13/01/2018 23:11

Worra you made it 12.

counterpoint · 13/01/2018 23:12

Oooh that's brought the 'twit count' up to 11 shock grin

There were some 100 twits so I have a long way to go to give them one each ...

I'm such a twit

@counterpoint what are your views of hunt sabetours wilfully injuring horses and hounds?*

I don't know that any would do such a thing. More likely the twits would willfully injure their own dogs and horses too.

Not a fan of hunting but lets not paint hunt saboteurs as saints that have never hurt horses or hounds.

WhyDidIEatThat · 13/01/2018 23:13

Honestly, not everyone who hunts has money and only a minority want to see an animal killed - there’s also a minority of antis/sabs who lure hounds in hopes of filming them killing something.

Oliversmumsarmy · 13/01/2018 23:15

You are an ill informed twit and clearly have fabricated events ! Urghhhhh another boring thread on the hunt

After spending several years in the countryside it sounds spot on.

Losing control of the hounds rampaging through a conservation area (not the building kind. The flora and fauna kind). Disrupting traffic. Thinking they own the roads.

mustbemad17 · 13/01/2018 23:17

Only a small minority want to see an animal killed

So if the majority don't want a fox to be ripped apart, what is put in place to reduce that risk? As a lot of the time the riders seem to gleefully send their horses after the fox/hounds without trying to control them

AgathaRaisonDetra · 13/01/2018 23:17

OP you are very boring.

Marymaymay · 13/01/2018 23:19

only a small minority want to see an animal killed

WTF are they there for then?

I don’t want to see an animal killed so I go to the cinema, or for a nice walk or paint a pot.

I don’t go on a hunt whose purpose is to kill an animal.

That would be stupid.

counterpoint · 13/01/2018 23:19

Honestly, not everyone who hunts has money and only a minority want to see an animal killed

More twits then!

I can't believe the ridiculous stuff some people have come up with to try and defend the indefensible!

I don't give a s*it about whether humans have or don't have money. They can do what they like with it so long as it does not involve unnecessary cruelty to MY wildlife and fellow creatures.
