...to suspect infidelity if a couple has a joint FB account?

Unless they’re 60+.

Our neighbours have one and it’s weird. Never any idea who’s liking/loving/hahaing.

We don't have shared emails of f/book and never would, but I'm not sure how you come to this conclusion tbh.

Also if someone says they don't have Facebook, I usually assume they're a sex offender or cheater.

I know a couple like this and they're only in their 40s and very outgoing, travel a lot etc so not like an OAP couple.

They have a joint facebook account. MORE weirdly though, they even have lunch together every day (they work near one another). AND they speak on the phone during the working day. They are from a different culture and are very religious, their background is quite kind of stepford wife is the norm tbh.

They have no kids if that's relevant, so it's not even as if they're needing time just as a couple.

I think it's very odd!

We only separated our fb last year. Dh is complete technophobe. Never went near Internet and didn't have email. I never really used fb so just stuck him on mine rather than faffing about. He finally got new phone so set his up and separated them.

BUT, I don't think it's to do with infidelity having occurred. Maybe prevention thereof.

I always think the same op...and also backed up by what I know of those who've done it. Trust issues definitely.

There are two couple on my fb with joint accounts. One of them, the guy is a known philanderer (his last bit on the side screenshotted messages from him and tagged him
in them when he dumped her 😂 ). The other, the guy is a bit of a paranoid nut and used to text his wife about 15 times every single day in work to see what she was doing.

I actually had a friend question me over it and thought it was really bizarre I hadnt ever thought alot about it tbh. He doesnt even use it.

We had a shared email address for a year or so until it became impractical with work stuff. It was fine.
No infidelity issues here Confused

Yes I always think trust issues or a very controlling partner. Or the other extreme where one is so insecure that they have to flaunt they have a partner at all times.

I'd say over 45 it's totally normal to be uninterested in Social media and not have own account and email. Under 45 it's a bit more unusual, but neither of my sons have it despite being techies. S9me people share a device and can't be bothered to log in and out, I think.

Confused I “don’t” have fb (anymore, technically I do but I deactivated it) because my ex-husband was stalking me on there and having other people watch my profile and then using it to harass me. I always thought people who didn’t have fb were intruiging and mysterious. Definitely not a sex offender and have never cheated in my life...

I used to use my exes Facebook account. It wasn’t joint, I just used his. I used to work in an area that highly discouraged a social media presence for safety and privacy. Now that we are separated I have my own with a screen name rather than my real name. It wasn’t anything like infidelity at the time or anything.

I always suspect trust issues as well. It's not like there's a finite amount of fb accounts available and it's being frugal to share is it?

We have a shared email address, but we also have our own personal ones. The joint one we used for solicitors etc when we moved house, for bills, quotes from builders etc and just makes it easier for us both to be able to access things. Obviously we use our personal ones for everything else (work, friends etc), and we have our own Facebook/Amazon accounts. I didn't think the email thing was that weird, but now I'm wondering!

I wouldn't jump to the infidelity conclusion.

Some don't enjoy Facebook. Maybe it's only one of them who is managing the account. Or both of them don't like it but it's a digital world and it's easier to communicate through Facebook (especially if you have relatives overseas) so they just created one.
