AIBU?

to be annoyed with DH for letting us sleep?

We got back from holidays on Monday. We were in a different time zone (6 hr behind) and it is proving difficult to get back to normal. DS(5) has really struggled to get up to go to school, and I have been very tired. It did not affect DH so much, as his sleep patterns are always all over the place.

I am not sure what time he woke up today, but he came to us (DS was sleeping in our bed) at some point and said: it's already 10am maybe you should get up otherwise jetlag will get worse.

I finally woke up at 11:45am Shock

I just do not understand why he didn't try to wake us up?! He says he did and that I am ungrateful, and that it is not his responsibility!
I do not care about me, but if he knew it would mess up with DS sleep why didn't he do a bit more?!

Yabu. Time to apologise to him for blaming him, and say you will set an alarm for tomorrow. And jointly agree a time to wake DS up tomorrow.

I can just imagine the poor husband making a mental note to never go on holiday with a time difference again!

You sound like my ex. I’d try to wake him and if I didn’t manage to it was my fault.

Just no.

Christ I hope nothing dreadful happens to him or else who will wake you from your slumber?! You could be asleep forever without him especially since no one has invented a machine that makes a repetitive sound to wake you up.... oh wait... they have!

Have you gone back to sleep, OP??

Report

OP won’t be back Grin

A lesson to all.... Never write a post when you have been awake less than an hour and are jet lagged...

Hope you feel better soon OP! Nothing worse than that lingering tiredness, especially for those around you! I would suggest coffee and sugar, and lots of it.

Are you Teflon coated? Is nothing ever your responsibility?

Come on, you know you could have set an alarm.

To be fair, I'm a proper, irrational thundercunt when I have jet lag. I had a stamping, crying tantrum in Paddington station once after a red eye with no sleep and a four month old ds. BlushGrin

He woke you at 10am. You chose not to get up.
