AIBU to be fuming at this CF and my lack of rights?! (Parking thread)

OK so I come home from taking the kids to school and when I arrive home someone is parked in my space. Not just anyone but the little black car that had 3 students in it I had seen driving in on my way out. Now normally student park in our residents only visitors bay which is annoying enough but this time they have parked in my privately owned and numbered parking space. So I cannot use it!

The council won’t do anything the police won’t do anything and even the college won’t do anything!

I honestly can’t believe the lack of rights people have on their own properties! This car is going to be in my space for at least 6 hours!

Why can’t there be some new system where people can call and report vehicles to be towed from their property at a smallish fee and then the owners of said cars have to pay the remaining fee to retrieve their cars?

Ahh. The drama is unfolding quickly on this which I like. I got worried I would have to wait 6hrs Grin
We did the same at work to some fucker who parked in the spot

jessebuni · 10/01/2018 10:29

Car owner hasn’t buzzed our door yet so I don’t know what they’re doing. Possibly too embarrassed to own up to it and hoping we move later?

You can set up your own itcketing scheme with most parking enforcement companies- this was the first one that came up on my google search
www.uk-carparkmanagement.co.uk/services/parking-enforcement/self-ticketing?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIm-icqJfN2AIVjpPtCh0eQg10EAAYASAAEgIqWfD_BwE

I agree cjt110 I should be doing housework but am hoping this thread is going to keep me busy all day. It will be upsetting if it's resolved before 11 o'clock.

readytostart · 10/01/2018 10:30

Ha, well done op 😁

StealthNinjaMum Huge anti climax? Not much build up... Sigh

OP What does CF look like?

cjt110 · 10/01/2018 10:32

Yours is white car and No 3 is the silver one?

jessebuni · 10/01/2018 10:33

Not sure how they expect it to be resolved if they don’t even knock my door. Perhaps the college did send an email round after all for them to be back so quickly.

OP posts:
DrRanjsRightEyebrow · 10/01/2018 10:33

presume white car is yours and CF student's car is out of shot to the left...

swingofthings · 10/01/2018 10:35

And what if the OP is ill or disabled Swing, or has a disabled relative or small children? Where's she supposed to park? Stop making excuses for shitty behaviour.
I'm not making excuses at all, that's why they should apologise, but OP is not of this (or assume considering the detail she would have said and she did park in front of her house) and sometimes you just have to take a deep breath and not let things like this turn into a soap opera.

I can think of similar annoyances that occur in my life weekly, it's life. Let's hope they are knocking on the door now and apologising.

jessebuni · 10/01/2018 10:36

Yes that is correct. Although the white car is actually now my husbands van.

TSSDNCOP · 10/01/2018 10:36

There’s a difference between can’t and won’t as far as the college is concerned. I would insist on speaking to the Principal regarding the anti social behaviour of their students. My college would have come down really hard but m this sort of thing.

StealthNinjaMum · 10/01/2018 10:36

cjt110 Huge anti climax? Not much build up

Yup. Like so much of my life.

octonaught · 10/01/2018 10:36

I would go down & give them a talking to.
Don't escalate it more by making them wait.
They have now seen what the consequences are.

StealthNinjaMum · 10/01/2018 10:37

OMG a photo of a CF. I have died and gone to heaven.

jessebuni · 10/01/2018 10:38

I’m rather angry is all and if they had come and knocked on my door and apologised and looked suitable embarrassed I would have gave them a few words about never doing it again and moved out of their way. They have yet to knock on the door. So they can’t possibly be in a hurry.

OP posts:
TSSDNCOP · 10/01/2018 10:39

Things have progressed. I’d be sitting nicely indoors channelling Swings let it be approach. Goes both ways.

DrRanjsRightEyebrow · 10/01/2018 10:40

I wouldn't do anything unless they knock. I'd keep a beady eye in case they do any damage (unlikely, but still...)

thelonggame · 10/01/2018 10:40

No, why should OP make it easy on them, I'd wait until they knock on the door.
Hopefully they will learn a lesson from this.

Sonders · 10/01/2018 10:41

OP I'd do exactly what you're doing. It's not hurting anyone, you're teaching a CF a lesson and it must be cathartic for you!

As you were ;)

Theresnonamesleft · 10/01/2018 10:41

I would go out, give them a wave and say beautiful day for a walk. And go for a walk 😁

Idontdowindows · 10/01/2018 10:41

Brilliant execution :D
