Hi all, very long time lurker, first time poster because something is really playing on my mind.

Normally very very careful with contraception, but I'm worried because of what happened a week ago.

Me and DP were messing around and the long and short of it is he "pleasured me digitally" (snort) with "spermy fingers". God sorry for the TMI.

I checked the app i use to track my period and that was apparently in my fertile window.

Can you put my mind at rest - its unlikely for that to cause pregnancy, right? But how unlikely? Like super unlikely or just unlikely?

Yes! Bloody embarrassing thing to admit but this is how I got pregnant at 19 ... but I am very fertile in general, which probably helped

I find it worrying that some people here believe that they can get pregnant with anal sex.

Nobody here believes you can get pregnant from anal, they believe you can get pregnant from sperm leaking into the vagina after anal sex, which is possible.

Not unless you deliberately put the stuff that leaks into your vagina, it's not.

If stuff out of your anus leaked into your vagina, you would have worse problems than pregnancy.

Secondly, I hold you all responsible if I wake my baby by trying to hold in snorts of laughter! (Currently sat in the car as she snoozes and I read about globby sperm fingers and anal leakage)

I've gotten pregnant every time I've let sperm anywhere near me which is only twice, one baby and one MC.

It retrospectively terrified me about all the times I'd been a bit 'have I taken it' about the pill...

I;d sort of come to the conclusion I'd nearly messed up so many times it must be quite hard to get pregnant, but no, for some combinations of people it really really isn't.

I sleep on my tummy so I can imagine logistics whereby anal leakage coulda got me pregnant (or infected with a UTI) if I was too tired afterwards for a full clean-up operation

The vagina is designed to be a life support machine for sperm as well as a sperm cheer leader. It doesnt have to be dropped right at the cervix door to make it once its in the V it can find a way.

Of course sperm could transit a hymen. Except in pathological cases (imperforate hymens), the hymen has a small hole to let out menses. Women whose hymens are not open enough to accommodate sperm transmitted in this or other ways would have died of sepsis. It can become a life-threatening emergency to have an imperforate hymen once menses begin, and is excruciatingly painful -- women with the condition have to have their hymens broken in a medical setting, and the resulting rush of pent-up, rotting fluids is one of the most disgusting scents in the entire medical world (according to a woman doctor friend of mine).

(by "other ways," I mean just about anything with a diameter small tampon size or smaller -- but I can think of several ways for sperm to get there that don't require a penis.)

A friend's cousin got pregnant at 17, having never had full PIV. ie a virgin.
She wasn't just telling her parents this, she was warning my friend not to make the same mistake.
