To think you probably can't get pregnant this way

Hi all, very long time lurker, first time poster because something is really playing on my mind.

Normally very very careful with contraception, but I'm worried because of what happened a week ago.

Me and DP were messing around and the long and short of it is he "pleasured me digitally" (snort) with "spermy fingers". God sorry for the TMI.

I checked the app i use to track my period and that was apparently in my fertile window.

Can you put my mind at rest - its unlikely for that to cause pregnancy, right? But how unlikely? Like super unlikely or just unlikely?

We're waiting with baited breath. (The things that amuse you when you're stuck at home with a baby!)

Ha! I'm feeling really impatient, can I do a test tomorrow morning do you think? I just want to know so I can stop thinking about it. Period on Friday and according to app today is day 12 after ovulation

You could test today and it might pick it up if you use a sensitive test (I’d suggest a pink dye one, maybe First Response which can pick it up 5 days before your period is due). Ideally first morning urine (so maybe wait til tomorrow) or if you can’t wait then try not to drink much for a few hours before you test so your urine is more concentrated.

I'd be testing today but then I'm a prolific tester!! Hope you get the outcome you want OP.

I had no symptoms for a couple of weeks after testing (apart from no period obv). And then I developed HG and had to spend a few nights in hospital.
We is all difrunt.

Yes test test test, I got bfp for all 3 pregnancies day 8 or 9 after ovulation

Waiting for the outcome....

I chickened out last night and didnt buy a test so I will get one today and do it tomorrow morning by which point it will be 13 dpo so surely a good chance of getting an accurate reading.

OK i bought 2 tests, the 2nd one i will do properly first thing tomorrow, but I'll do the first one today. I guess I will wait a few hours without drinking anything @Needmorechocolate

Why did I read this thread, now I’ve to sit and wait to see what happens. Might clean my bathroom to keep myself occupied.

Its a resounding no! My womb will live to see another unperturbed day.

So this thread has taught me a lot to be fair, and I'm definitely more up to speed on how conception works which is great.

As an aside, I can totally see how women trying to conceive can get addicted to taking these tests, I haven't had as much of an adrenaline rush in a long time.

The moral of the story is that spermy fingers do have the power to impregnate.

It ain't over til it's over, glitter! I had 4 negatives on day 16 and boom, a resounding positive on day 18. Until period arrives, it is all money on! (In my humble, unmedical, overinvested opinion)

What WS said. You haven't done a first thing pee so increase your risk of a false neg early on ;)

I reckon I should just wait til Friday morning then, which is period day? What do you think? Would it give a definitive result then?

I didn't get either of my BFPs until about 3 days after period day!

That being said, I think your chances of being impregnated this way are so slim that you probably have your answer - but definitely need to wait for period to be sure!
