We rushed out of the last thread without even a pocket handkerchief: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/a3124599-Trump-2018-Resistance-is-Never-Futile

So here's a new one, with its own

I am the very model of a Very Stable Genius.
I have a mighty button and no problems with my penius.
I have no time for television, golf or social media
Since my brain is way way better than the best encyclopedia.

I'm cutting tax, I'll build a wall, I'll take away their medicare
You can trust me 'cos I'm orange and I have the most amazing hair.
So with my total ignorance of matters heterogeneous
I am the very model of a Very Stable Genius!

Compared to other leaders, my behavior's quite unusual
My twisted tweets and pissed-on sheets have managed to amuse you all
I have to drink two-handed 'cause my fingers are the teeniest
I need a sippy-cup with the inscription "Stable Genius."

Re: Bannon and talking to Mueller

Renato Mariotti
‏*@renato*_mariotti
1/ This is what we would ordinarily expect to happen. Usually it’s in the interest of both sides for prosecutors to conduct an informal interview.
2/ An interview helps Bannon because his attorney can be present and because it’s a more relaxed atmosphere where his words are not transcribed.
3/ An interview helps Mueller because it can be a freewheeling conversation with prosecutors and FBI agents on a variety of topics that might go beyond what would be discussed before the grand jury.
4/ Testifying before the grand jury can also undercut Bannon if he turned out to be a helpful witness to Mueller, because the transcript of his grand jury testimony would be used by defense counsel to cross-examine him.
5/ What’s hard to understand is why Mueller issued the grand jury subpoena if he was open to an interview. Perhaps Bannon was blowing him off or was unwilling to agree to an interview until his hand was forced. That’s odd given that other Trump associates agreed without one. /end

Sky News reported just now that the internet is calling for Trump to be weighed in public because people don't believe the medical results. Nice mirror image of Trump calling for Obama to produce his birth certificate :D

I wonder did he do that water lining thing that boxers do before a fight. According to the diet programme I watched the other night on Ch4, you can lose up to 10kg overnight.

The alternative os to bribe / coerce the doctor, and get him to say that you have 'incredible genes' Hmm wtf?

GOP official says giving women the right to vote was a ‘grave mistake’

Shock Shock Shock

I haven’t even opened the link. Just that line pulled me up short. If I wasn’t so furious for women in the US, I would be speechless.

GOP official says giving women the right to vote was a ‘grave mistake’

More like in the interest of fairness, men should be prevented from voting or holding office for a few hundred years.

GOP official says giving women the right to vote was a ‘grave mistake’

Wow... I'm sure quite a few think that privately but to say it out loud??!

badbadhusky · 17/01/2018 18:16

Reminds me of a speech I saw Oona King (former MP) give a few years ago. She said she’d get a lot of comments about the exclusionary nature of all women shortlists when she first joined parliament & would counter with a remark about single sex lists not bothering men for the last 500 years. Of course, they were all male. Hmm

Corey Lewandowski arrives at House Intel for his afternoon meeting; he met with the Senate panel last year

badbadhusky · 17/01/2018 18:21

I liked Corey Booker’s speech linked above very much. It was very powerful and spoke truth to power, but I felt it was just a little too long, which made it start to look like grandstanding for personal advancement rather than holding the Executive to account.

Per @renato_mariotti: "There's no question that Bannon is not required to abide by the White House's wishes. He's doing that voluntarily...what this shows is that Bannon is very much on Trump's team."

And

@SethAbramson
Attorney Bill Burck, in the course of representing one client (Bannon) was contacting another client (McGahn) to determine what the first client was allowed to say under oath. This is a conflict of interest. Burke must withdraw from 2 of his 3 cases (Priebus, Bannon and McGahn).

Trump Cooks Terror Stats for Bogus Immigration Argument

The administration insists the ‘foreign born’ are responsible for most of the terror threat the U.S. faces. That’s true—if you ignore hundreds of plots, attacks, and recent trends.

Is Donald Trump hoping foreign terrorists attack the United States?

This is my fear, too.
