We rushed out of the last thread without even a pocket handkerchief: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/a3124599-Trump-2018-Resistance-is-Never-Futile

So here's a new one, with its own

I am the very model of a Very Stable Genius.
I have a mighty button and no problems with my penius.
I have no time for television, golf or social media
Since my brain is way way better than the best encyclopedia.

I'm cutting tax, I'll build a wall, I'll take away their medicare
You can trust me 'cos I'm orange and I have the most amazing hair.
So with my total ignorance of matters heterogeneous
I am the very model of a Very Stable Genius!

Compared to other leaders, my behavior's quite unusual
My twisted tweets and pissed-on sheets have managed to amuse you all
I have to drink two-handed 'cause my fingers are the teeniest
I need a sippy-cup with the inscription "Stable Genius."

Pretty much, BerylStreep, though alas no fine:

FBI releases files on Trump apartments' race discrimination probe in '70s
www.politico.com/blogs/under-the-radar/2017/02/trump-fbi-files-discrimination-case-235067

In October 1973, the Civil Rights Division filed a lawsuit against Trump Management Company, Donald Trump and his father Fred Trump, alleging that African-Americans and Puerto Ricans were systematically excluded from apartments. The Trumps responded with a $100 million countersuit accusing the government of defamation.
[...]
The Trumps and their company entered into a consent decree settling the litigation in 1975. The agreement contained no admission of wrongdoing, but required the Trump firm to institute a series of safeguards to make sure apartments were rented without regard to race, color, religion, sex or national origin.

And a longer piece in the New York Times, including an account of discrimination by papa Trump before the Civil Rights Act came in:

Actually, to be fair, the court didn't find he was overtly racist... just told him not to do it again.

But those articles give accounts by witnesses.

Sooo - just watched the WH physician give his press conference and it looks like President Faustus has sold his soul to the devil and is going to live forever. Sad

TheNorthWestPawsage · 16/01/2018 21:44

Or did I mean Dorian Grey? Blush

Roussette · 16/01/2018 21:51

Just watch clips of the physician, it's all bunkum isn't it.

Trump wanted a cognitive test and he's just perfect and he only sleeps 4-5 hrs a night which is why he is so successful.

Physician is just a sycophant then...

The Trump administration just announced they're "reconsidering" the @CFPB's rule protecting people from predatory payday & car title lending. This is a comically evil decision that borders on self-parody. And it won’t get the attention it deserves.
Quick, but crucial, thread.
Payday lenders are basically legalized loan-sharks. They deliberately saddle consumers in debt they can't afford and trap them in a cycle of loans they can't escape.
Don't believe me? The average interest rate on a payday loan is about 400 percent. And some payday loan rates go as high as a thousand. ONE THOUSAND PERCENT.
Almost half of payday borrowers end up defaulting on their loan (1000 percent interest rates!) even though most of those who default actually pay way more in fees and interest than the size of the original loan.
And because the loan is due in a lump sum on the borrowers next paycheck, 80% of all payday loans taken are renewed within 2 weeks -- i.e, people are forced to borrow another payday loan to pay for the previous payday loan.
This is why people call payday loans a "debt trap"
Payday lenders depend on the debt trap to stay in business. It’s a feature, not a bug. More than 75% of all fees collected by the payday lending industry come from borrowers trapped in a cycle of 10 or more loans.
Pres. Obama once said, "One of the main ways to make sure paychecks go farther is to make sure working families don’t get ripped off." There is no bigger ripoff than payday lending. But I guess the guy who ran the Trump University scam doesn’t care much about that.
