To ask if he is single!

To ask for flirting advice!!! I have a crush on a delivery man who comes around every now and again. He is very flirty but it might just be his way. Quite cheeky chappy type. How can I ask if he is single without it being really awkward and embarrassing? I've been married for the past 15 years so I'm a bit rusty with this kind of stuff!
Am a bit worried he is just a cheeky flirty type and I embarrass him and myself! Blush

@NoCanoe - I haven't actually seen him yet. Just heard the stories. Do I need to make the effort and get ordering some stuff online?

duckii · 14/01/2018 13:19

Please don't tell me this has been a hoax... where are you OP?!

MiddleClassProblem · 14/01/2018 13:24

Op is a long time poster. Doubt it’s a hoax. Just hope she’s ok!

TheBlackPearl · 14/01/2018 13:32

proudbrows · 14/01/2018 13:41

NoCanoe · 14/01/2018 14:19

'@lowmaintenace101'

Which area are you based, approximately?

NoCanoe · 14/01/2018 14:22

OP, just how much is being delivered?

LowMaintenance101 · 14/01/2018 14:32

@NoCanoe approximately Yorkshire

lurkingnotlurking · 14/01/2018 14:45

You're saying he has already joked that the invoice is his number? If so, I like Cath's suggestion above.

NoCanoe · 14/01/2018 14:59

@lowmaintenace101 *
Different area unless he travels on different days.

My DPD Dan Definately worth an online purchase.

Twickerhun · 14/01/2018 15:13

Omg I'm so sorry to have left you guys hanging!!!! It was a very very disappointing day on Thursday......

So my ds had a school thing on that meant I had to drop him to town first thing. Normally he gets bus so I am home all morning.
However delivery is usually around lunch and so I wasn't worried about being out first thing, more concerned that is be at work.

So on the way to town I pass my delivery man heading up the road towards my village. I did hope he had lots of drops to do on the way and I'd make it back but it was not to be.

So I get to my house and I am very disappointed to see he has been. But more so I'm very surprised and disappointed to see my large heavy bag 50kg (ok so its coal, probably completely put myself here! Hello anyone who knows me Grin) at my front door and on my grass (sheet ice to be fair) a small pile of coal.

So I think he must have gone to walk round the back, slipped, spilt some coal and thought feck this and dumped the bag at the door.

So my dilemma- I could ring depot and ask if next week when he is in the area could he possibly pop in and dump it in the bunker for me because I'm on my own and can't lift it (I had to drag it along the ice to get it round the back.)
Also I know it was icy and I know he doesn't have to risk slipping etc but he hadn't picked up the pile he dropped which I though was a bit crap. Am I being unreasonable? Poor guy might of hurt himself or something.

Update, hooray! But boo that it wasn't a better outcome, OP. But mean of him to leave it round the front! Maybe he was cross you weren't in! Are you sure it was the same guy?

MiddleClassProblem · 15/01/2018 20:28

Might just mean he doesn’t notice mess or forgets it. But you don’t have to live with him...

NoCanoe · 15/01/2018 20:45

Oh no!! That's major points deducted for sure. I'd be unimpressed if that was my regular coal delivery man.
Sorry......DPD Dan would never have done that!

LowMaintenance101 · 15/01/2018 20:51

@NoCanoe - Grin

inmyshoos · 15/01/2018 21:09

It was definitely the same guy, only one guy that does the delivery here and also I saw him as we passed on the road.

I just think It wasn't very gentlemanly of him to leave the pile on the grass but thinking maybe he had slipped and didn't want to risk breaking his neck Confused

I thought if I rang depot and said about 'being on my own' so could he pop in and empty bag I to bunker when he delivers to neighbour next would get the single message over nicely. But not sure I'm so keen now.

lurkingnotlurking · 15/01/2018 21:25

I think maybe your expectations are a bit high. He's helped you every time there wasn't sheet ice in the way. And besides which, he is just human.

inmyshoos · 15/01/2018 21:31

Yeah lurking you're probably right. That's why I said I realise he might have slipped etc. He does seem like a nice guy and more than that he makes me laugh. That goes a long way!

NoCanoe · 15/01/2018 21:58

Unless he broke his ankle, id still expect my bunker to be filled. Or a note saying why delivery not completed.
Not impressed.

MiddleClassProblem · 15/01/2018 22:04

Or a message from the depot
