To think MMHQ are more trigger happy these days?

Not a TAAT as such - more about moderation in general.

Is it just me or are MN much quicker to delete threads these days?

There have been a few examples recently where the thread had taken an odd turn - but which could have been solved by deletions or posdibly even a stern but the whole thread has been pulled, despite the thread containing useful advice.

Is this a new policy? Or are there a couple of new mods who are more likely to pull threads?

AIBU to think this is happening and it's a shame if so?

Watch what you're doing with that hammer.

paxillin · 08/01/2018 00:51

Nuff. I'm telling. I will start a new "ban non-regulation emojis" thread.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 08/01/2018 00:52

Where did that poo appear from? It spoils all those hearts! 😨

RustyPaperclips · 08/01/2018 00:53

Lying careful where you swing that hammer 😁 (sorry for taunting you with constipated emoji's!)

Battleax · 08/01/2018 00:53

"Don't poo on my hearts" sounds like a love song. Maybe an alien love song.

RustyPaperclips · 08/01/2018 00:54

'Where there is a heart there is a poo' Rusty 2018

CoteDAzur · 08/01/2018 07:25

WTF happened here? Grin

paxillin · 08/01/2018 08:24

I think they finished off all the Christmas booze. Several bottles of eggnogg, sherry and port make you go funny. Or perhaps they missed the garish seasonal decorations?

paxillin · 08/01/2018 08:25

Or perhaps it was an attempt to bump to get the answers.

CoteDAzur · 08/01/2018 08:31

Unless MNHQ are just waiting for the thread to reach 1,000 posts without any answers.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 08/01/2018 08:51

Shock... I have no excuse, I was drinking nothing stronger than tea.

I think it must have been my absolute delight at finding new emojiis. Blush

paxillin · 08/01/2018 09:15

Unless MNHQ are just waiting for the thread to reach 1,000 posts without any answers.

In which case, could the emoji ping pong resume, please? Less sweet though, that was creepy.

C8H10N4O2 · 08/01/2018 10:03

@deckoff

Also, I always assumed you got an email telling you off when you had a comment deleted. I don't know why one of mine was removed as I was saying that Mum was goady, not a troll.

Apparently not.
I'm in the same boat as you - two posts calling out goadiness and in one case correcting a verifiable point of fact they posted are deleted. Goady post is left standing after the thread has been reviewed by MNHQ. That sends a clear message in itself from MNHQ

GF in the mean time is free to spread mean spiritedness wherever they wish.

CoteDAzur · 08/01/2018 10:49

"two posts calling out goadiness and in one case correcting a verifiable point of fact they posted are deleted"

Maybe GF hunting is now also a banworthy offence, while goadiness still isn't.

Would you please confirm or deny @JenMumsnet or someone else from @MNHQ?

Coconutspongexo · 08/01/2018 11:10

Maybe we should do a site stuff thread asking for an update on the guidelines because they’re not consistent.

WhatALoadOfOldBollocks · 08/01/2018 13:22

Arrrrgh, yet another thread has been deleted! Angry This time because "The OP has some pressing privacy concerns about this thread and so we're going to take it down now." Seriously, is it worth spending time posting on anything when there's every chance the thread will get pulled?Hmm

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 08/01/2018 13:51

Don't know which one that was, What, it's not on my list.

I think these OPs ought to be a little bit more circumspect before posting rather than when they just don't like the answers given, if they're going to use privacy as a method to get the thread deleted. Works a treat though, doesn't it?

QuizzlyBear · 08/01/2018 13:53

I started a thread about something that was really worrying me and had some useful responses. I checked back an hour later and it had been deleted with the comment 'pure nonsense'. No effort to clarify anything with me etc, just pulled.

I couldn't talk to anyone about it IRL as it was family-related and 100% true. I found that really hurtful as I had turned to MN for some clarity and support!

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 08/01/2018 14:14

That's dreadful, Quizzly, really awful considering the volume of threads started by trolls that stand for days. Did you take it up with MNHQ? I would have because you have every right to post here.
