AIBU to want my kids back??

Just before Christmas my ex and I agreed at court to a child arrangement order whereby the kids (5 and 1) live with me roughly 65% of the time. The court order also stipulated Christmas arrangements as being shared 50/50, and were more specific for this Christmas - he was to have them from 9am Boxing Day and then I pick them up at 6pm on the 2nd January.

He has taken them to a holiday home in Wales and is demanding that I make the 5 hour journey to collect them on the 2nd. If I can't then he will bring them back on the 4th.

It may only seem like a couple of days but they have already been away from me for 7 days and my baby is only 1. This is all about control for him. He isn't technically breaking the court order because it says I have to collect them but it doesn't state a location, but we live 10 minutes from each other so the assumption would naturally be that I collect from his house.

What do I do?

Just adding my support, in hoping your first day in new job went well, and you’ll have your girls back soon.

Keep calm, and doing exactly what you’re doing. Remember everything he has done will go in your favour in the courts. Hold your head high, and don’t be drawn in by him.

My ex would ruin anything. If I had an exam to study for, he’d cause an argument. New day at work, cause an argument. Want to go out with my friends, cause an argument...

He knew you were starting a new job. All this bullshit was to unsettle you.

Good luck Rose - cheering you on here Flowers

Hi Rose - I hope the first day at your new job went well. Fingers crossed that you're picking up the girls right now Flowers

RoseNarene · 03/01/2018 18:56

Hi everyone

My girls are back home and I have just tucked them into bed.

When I collected them at 4:30, my ex was trying to be nice to me, completely patronising and goading me, trying to get a reaction. "How was your first day?" "Oh, don't you want to talk to me?" "Have a really safe drive home!"

I didn't look at him and I didn't talk to him. Not once.

Yes, my first day was good thank you! Just an inset, the real work starts tomorrow. If I'm honest I have no idea what I'm doing!! But I'll work it out along the way!
