Another trans bully nightmare. Targetting the yellowberry bra brand now

lilymaynard.wordpress.com/2017/12/31/bra-gate-yellowberry-products-now-for-everyone/

When will this BS end?

UpABitLate · 02/01/2018 16:51

Aeroflot there have already been moves to "get the F out of FGM" as it's an offensively cis-sexit term.

UpABitLate · 02/01/2018 16:52

lol assigned Grin happy new year to you too mate

Thehairthebod · 02/01/2018 16:53

thehair my gender identity is female/woman, I would still be me if I didn't have a uterus/ovaries/breasts. I have a gender identity, I have a sexuality, that comes from my brain and if you put my brain in a different body I'd still be me

What evidence do you have for this?

loopsdefruit · 02/01/2018 16:54

upabit can you really not get that I mean "having to think about this isn't a huge barrier to ensuring people can access services" not "illiteracy isn't a huge barrier"

thehair I can't be sure no, but you can't be sure that it wouldn't be that way either. I'm pretty sure that if someone put my brain in a different body I'd still be me and have the gender ID and sexuality I have now.

Gileswithachainsaw · 02/01/2018 16:54

That's personality though. Not gender

loopsdefruit · 02/01/2018 16:56

Evidence that your brain makes you who you are? There's quite a lot isn't there?

UpABitLate · 02/01/2018 16:56

Well you've said that you don't think that charities / actions around rape and sex trafficking around the world should use the words girls or female so who am I to guess what you might think next?

Thehairthebod · 02/01/2018 16:56

Also you do realise that what you are saying here is really offensive to the millions of women in the world over the last few millenia who have been oppressed purely on the basis of their SEX. They haven't been oppressed because of their 'lady brain' they have been oppressed because of their biologically female bodies. And they can't 'identify' their way out of those female bodies either.

Ereshkigal · 02/01/2018 16:57

However it would also include some men, some non-binary people, some trans people etc... and that wouldn't make any difference in anything because you'd just say 'people who have been raped/been trafficked/experienced discrimination at work etc... you'd still be able to discuss the issues, just in a way that includes all people involved in the issue.

No loops. Because a large part of why women are oppressed is because they are female. Women who experience workplace discrimination for being pregnant are directly being discriminated against because of their female bodies. Things happen to female people because they are female. And as a society we need to talk about this problem. Are you really incapable of grasping this point?

Gileswithachainsaw · 02/01/2018 16:57

They why isn't gender dysphoria diagnosed with brain scans?

loopsdefruit · 02/01/2018 16:58

giles I think your gender is a part of your personality, some parts of personality are innate and some are a result of outside influences. I think gender identity is one of the innate ones.

Obviously we can't prove it, cause brain transplants don't exist and it would be pretty unethical to test it.

Ereshkigal · 02/01/2018 16:59

Evidence that your brain makes you who you are? There's quite a lot isn't there?

Yes, as people have said, it's personality. We all have them. Not just the fashionably queer people.

UpABitLate · 02/01/2018 16:59

WTF even is an internal gender ID

And why do those who obviously have something in them that they identify as internal gender ID

Then extrapolate that to pretty much everyone must do

Has anyone ever actually ASKED the majority of non trans people if they feel an internal immutable gender ID?

Oh hold on I forgot there's no point because if they say they don't, that's because they're "cis" and so they're too stupid comfy in their bodies to know their own minds. Overlooking the fact that large numbers of "cis" people are dysphoric, but what's one more thing to overlook amongst all this?

Thehairthebod · 02/01/2018 16:59

Loop, do you think that racially motivated crimes should also be recorded as 'one person attacking another' with no discussion of the race of the victim or perpetrator either? Do you think that sort of discussion would go a long way in solving the problem of racially motivated crime?

Ereshkigal · 02/01/2018 17:00

think gender identity is one of the innate ones.

That's nice. Pretty much pure speculation though.

Gileswithachainsaw · 02/01/2018 17:00

But if gender was real it would show up on a brain scan.

It doesn't or they'd do a simple scan and that's it DX complete.

Look at all these trans people. It's all dresses make up and feelings.

They perform stereotypes that's it.

Ereshkigal · 02/01/2018 17:02

Is there any fucking point debating with this BS. It's just utterly illogical.

Millennia of science and philosophy and this, this is where we are. This is how people use their brains

I hear you!

Gileswithachainsaw · 02/01/2018 17:03

You are just doing what that do.

Repeating mantra over and over.

No science
No explanation
No examples
No proof

Nothing

Because there is nothing

You are make or female the rest is just you

loopsdefruit · 02/01/2018 17:03

giles I don't understand? People with different personalities don't have different brains as visible on a brain scan, and yet they are different. Brain scans are gonna show physical attributes of brains, not how they actually 'think' or someone's personality.

AssignedPuuurfectAtBirth · 02/01/2018 17:03

So how did they work this out then Loop

Any ideas

I agree either goady, or hopelessly naive and entirely lacking in empathy.

All three.

Gileswithachainsaw · 02/01/2018 17:04

Then what is a lady brain of not a distinguishable fact.

What makes someone a woman over being a man who just likes "women's stuff"

Thehairthebod · 02/01/2018 17:05

I only know I am a woman because of my breasts, vagina, uterus, periods, my smaller than average height and lower than average strength, and the fact I have had two kids, conceived when I my male DH put his penis in me and inseminated me with his sperm.

I am a fairly gender conforming woman, in that I like dresses and makeup and Shock glitter. They are just things I happen to like and a lot of that will just be social conditioning.

But I don't 'know' I am a woman 'on the inside'. I don't 'feel it' in the same way that I feel attraction to people of the opposite sex (if we are allowed to say that people of the opposite sex exist as a thing). I only know I am a woman because of my biology.

What does that make me? Obviously not a woman by your logic?

Ereshkigal · 02/01/2018 17:06

Definitely a transman, APAB! GrinNot very feminine Wink

DottyS · 02/01/2018 17:06

Going back to the original question by the OP.

OP: you are not being unreasonable and bras are not for boys because they do not require them. If they want to wear them (fair enough) but they should also have to use sanitary products as well.

And before folk have a go I have a very good friend who underwent all the procedures (including surgery) to become the woman they always felt they were - and they agree the OP is not being unreasonable,
