Another trans bully nightmare. Targetting the yellowberry bra brand now

lilymaynard.wordpress.com/2017/12/31/bra-gate-yellowberry-products-now-for-everyone/

When will this BS end?

refuse to stop shouting about how periods mean you're a woman

The language here.... Confused

Nobody is 'shouting' about it, and the Yellowberry page doesn't 'shout' about the fact that it is girls and women who wear bras, to put their female breasts in. Women have periods, people who have periods are women - that's not shouting, but at the same time, I'm not going to be told I can't acknowledge or reference the basic fact, or be told that such acknowledgement is some sort of antagonistic 'shouting'.

UpABitLate · 02/01/2018 15:25

Stickystickstick

You are starting to get the idea.

Women's "issues" - the euphamism we used to be allowed to use - is now barred as well.

Mentioning any of this stuff is banned.

Most people are a lot more comfy if women and girls shut up about all this icky stuff.

Just take a paracetamol and get the fuck on with it.

(Not really obv you have my full sympathy. I find it mind boggling that women who are in pain are told to STFU but it's not that surprising I guess).

MaisyPops · 02/01/2018 15:25

Thehairthebod
I've heard it's possible for men to push babies from their tummies out through their penis as long as they wear dresses and eyeliner.
Grin

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 02/01/2018 15:27

There's a Movember poster up in a window near me saying 'Stop Men Dying Young'. How transphobic. How shouty. How exclusionary.

UpABitLate · 02/01/2018 15:28

How is it progressive to erase women and girls and the language that we need to talk about the things that matter to us and negatively impact our lives?

And why is this only being done to women and girls and not to men and boys?

I think most of us know the answers.

SeekEveryEveryKnownHidingPlace · 02/01/2018 15:28

The birth of one's first child is always a particularly magical time, since until it's actually born, you don't know which of you will be giving birth, of course. Simply no way to tell.

Gileswithachainsaw · 02/01/2018 15:29

Who's not accepting?

No one cares what people wear and fully support their right to do so.

What we dont accept is denying our own existence and having to walk around on egg shells. Not wearing a bra or not wanting to wear clothes aimed at girls does not and will not ever make you a boy. No amount of hiding the ever increasing amount of words will change that.

If you can't handle it then you need help.

Breasts are a part of female anatomy deal witg it.

loopsdefruit · 02/01/2018 15:29

upabit by that argument Yellowberry doesn't need to exist at all then? If it's easy to find non-padded/non-sexualised bras up to a C cup in all the shops then the founder's entire business model wasn't anything new, special, or necessary. Good, cause $99 for a pack of 3 bras is crazy prices.

Ereshkigal · 02/01/2018 15:30

ereshkigal out of interest, at what age will my opinions be acceptable and not a sign of me 'being young'? When I'm 30, when I have children, when I agree with you?

Your opinions are very typical of many members of the younger generation who haven't really thought it all through much and can't see the problems. Don't worry, there are still lots of much more sensible young people. And I'm not basing my opinions about you and your beliefs solely on your posts on this thread.

Ereshkigal · 02/01/2018 15:31

Maybe it's not the same in the US, loops.

AstraiaLiberty · 02/01/2018 15:33

It's a common tactic. I've been accused on Twitter of shouting, screaming, and being too angry, annoyed and aggressive. What I'm actually doing is writing reasonable, gender-critical tweets. I don't even swear or use all-caps in them. It's where the 'hysterical women making a fuss' narrative meets the 'poor trans people are literally attacked by any mentions of biology' one, I think.

Ereshkigal · 02/01/2018 15:36

It's where the 'hysterical women making a fuss' narrative meets the 'poor trans people are literally attacked by any mentions of biology' one, I think.

Yes, exactly.

Thehairthebod · 02/01/2018 15:36

OK loops so say this utopia you talk of happened tomorrow? Say there was no more 'man' and 'woman', everyone in the world was just 'person' or however they wanted to identify?

Do you think that a certain section of society would still suffer rape at the hands of another section of society?
Do you think that a certain section of society would still experience discrimination at work?
Do you think a predominantly certain section of society would still be trafficked into sex work as children?
Do you think a certain section of society would still have to miss school because they cannot afford sanitary protection?
Do you think a certain section of society would still exclusively be the ones who need to access safe abortions?

How would we distinguish who these people are? How would people know who to rape, who to discriminate against at work, who to deny an abortion to, who to force into prostitution?

How would we know who to help?

Gileswithachainsaw · 02/01/2018 15:36

And loop

Again

If woman/girl doesn't exist what are they hiding from or moving towards?

UpABitLate · 02/01/2018 15:39

Loops is now saying the company should shut down anyway?

Because I personally had no trouble finding non sexualised underwear for a 10yo in the UK?

What a bizarre comment.

loopsdefruit · 02/01/2018 15:39

giles We can't really do much other than pick a side and see what happens. Change will take place and in 100 years people will look back on the current debates and judge one way or the other.

Aeroflotgirl · 02/01/2018 15:39

Hello having periods is a a woman exclusive thing. Some women don't for whatever biological reason. But it's only women that have them.

By erasing the terms, Female, woman, from vocabulary or existence, you are pushing women's rights back. Loops biological sex will never be erased, a baby is always going to be born male or female, thats biology.

There are a lot of us that like being know by our biological sex and don't want to change it, we are not non binary, or gender fluid, we are a man or a woman, and like it that way. But wod not careless what people identify with being.

What we are angry with, is that being a woman, or female is such a dirty word, and women's rights and spaces are being trampled on, by the vocal trans activists. Leave our rights and our sex alone and do your own thing!

Aeroflotgirl · 02/01/2018 15:41

We are not seeing the same thing with being male, or boy or man. Is it because these transactivists are biological men using their mysogeny to batter down women.

Gileswithachainsaw · 02/01/2018 15:42

How can you pick a side when one of those sides no longer exists and the other one will never include you no matter what you do about your breasts

UpABitLate · 02/01/2018 15:43

TheHair

That's all fine though, people are horrible to other people all the time, there's no need to be sexist about it. This new way is much better. It still highlights that bad stuff happens but in a less accusatory way.

Say the MRAs
And also the TAs

Ereshkigal · 02/01/2018 15:43

Should Yellowberry market their products as "bras for growing chests" and avoid all mention of breasts at all, loops? As I imagine that would please FTMs more. If not, why not?

BarbarianMum · 02/01/2018 15:44

having periods is a a woman exclusive thing

Aeroflot how dare you. Think of all the elephant shrews erased by your comment.

Ereshkigal · 02/01/2018 15:44

Yes.

UpABitLate · 02/01/2018 15:44

"39% children having their brastrap pulled by children
27% childrens' skirts being pulled up by children at school"

Why do you need to know what genitals they have, are you some kind of pervert? It is entirely irrelevant. Anyone can be either the perpetrator or victim of anti-femme gender hate. There is no such thing as sexism. Or biology.

Aeroflotgirl · 02/01/2018 15:47

Ah Barbarian, a female +whatever animal), thing😂😂😂
