To have only just realised I could be pregnant

Posting for traffic. Name says it all.

DP and I have only DTD once since DS was born, about 2 months ago due to combination of him working away and cosleeping making it difficult. We didnt use protection as I'm EBF and it was kind of a 'fuck it' moment.

Last two days have had awful gas, bloating and weird metallic taste in my mouth. Was burping endlessly in the car and DP said 'haha wow the only time I've seen you this bad is when you were pregnant'. It was just a passing comment but thinking about it I do feel exactly as I did a year ago when in first trimester.

Oh God I'm pregnant aren't I?! I need to take a test but it's 1am and I'm panicking. 5mo is asleep next to me.

Don't even know what I'd do. I'd love another baby but how the hell would we cope with a just 1 year old and a newborn? Oh lordy.

Congratulations!!!

14 month gap between 2nd & 3rd and it was great, easier then the 5 year gap I had before and the 2 year gap I had after Smile

KitKat1985 · 31/12/2017 16:17

Congratulations OP!

SparkyBlue · 31/12/2017 16:18

Congratulations OP.

OnTheRise · 31/12/2017 16:19

There's never a perfect time to have a baby. But somehow we seem to get exactly the right children for us, every time.

Congratulations, OP. This is lovely news, even though it's so unexpected.

Applesandpears23 · 31/12/2017 16:19

Congratulations!

MollyHuaCha · 31/12/2017 16:19

Just read from the top.

ThanksCongratulations OP! You'll be fine. Smile

PricillaQueenOfTheDesert · 31/12/2017 16:19

I had 16 months between first and second followed by a third just 13 months later. It was much easier than you’d expect, at least you get ‘rid’ of the worst bits (broken nights, nappies, packing for a military invasion of Europe for just for half a day out) before you have chance to remember what being an adult is like again.

Congratulations, I’m sure you’ll be excited once you’re over the initial surprise.

TheSassyAssassin · 31/12/2017 16:20

Afreshnewyearplease · 31/12/2017 16:28

Congrats!

BakerBear · 31/12/2017 16:28

It will be a great age gap!

There is 4.5 years between my two and i wish it was around 18 months as they are at completley different stages of their life and i find it hard doing things suitable that suits them both.

Andrewofgg · 31/12/2017 16:31

Wonderful!

Want2bSupermum · 31/12/2017 16:36

Congrats! Start looking for a double stroller. My elder two are 18 months apart. I had the citi select but would recommend the mountain buggy duo or the citi mini side by side. So much easier to push. Here in the US the Zoe side by side is excellent for the bus (must fold on NYC buses).

mummyhaschangedhername · 31/12/2017 16:37

Congratulations!

mamamalt · 31/12/2017 16:39

Omg! Congrats! I totally know how you feel. My DS is 15mo and I have no idea how I would feel if I got a positive test but you have lots of great success stories on here. So best of luck!!
I guess you could look at it as a real blessing considering how easy it was for you to fall pregnant! Life obviously has you all mapped out!

ILikeyourHairyHands · 31/12/2017 16:40

I was in exactly the same position as you at Christmas 10 years ago and I remember being terrified but it was absolutely fine.

Congrats OP!

blueskyinmarch · 31/12/2017 16:44

Congratulations OP. I am sure both you and your DH will be thrilled once you have both got over the shock!

whiskyfairy · 31/12/2017 16:44

Congratulations!

There are less than 10 months between my brother and I (GOD KNOWS what my mum was thinking) and we were close growing up.

Rebeccaslicker · 31/12/2017 16:44

You'll be fine when you get used to it, I hope! Lots of my friends and my DB have short age gaps and they all said it was actually easier because you haven't got too used to having your life back and the kids play well together. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

BLUESEAPARADISE · 31/12/2017 16:49

Placemarking but I really do hope you get the answer you want!:)

Tiredmum100 · 31/12/2017 16:54

There's 18 months between myself and my sister and we're really close, I've got 22 months between my two dc and again they get on and play together lovely most of the time. (Don't get me wrong they can argue with the best of them). Not going to say it wont be hard, but it is doable! Congratulations!

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 31/12/2017 16:57

Congratulations OP. You will do an amazing job.

FoddyWaddle · 31/12/2017 16:58

Congratulations! Younwill be absolutely fine! I had twins first then my dd 2 years and 1 month later followed by my ds 14 months later. It is hard work but as you get in a routine you will be fine. Enjoy as much of it as you can. My favourite saying is "the days are long but the years short".
When i found out i was pregnant with my dd i took 25 tests as they were all wrong. My DH refused to go and buy more so i sobbed. Life has a funny way of working out as now i love that they are all close together.

Bollooooooocks · 31/12/2017 17:03

Fantastic news!!! Congratulations!!

BrownTurkey · 31/12/2017 17:12

Congrats. My two are 23 months apart but only one school year apart. They get on great and it's a joy (also really full on, I won't lie) in the pre school years. And teens are so funny. They stayed up til half eleven last night playing cards with their cousins the same age and laughed all night.
