I'm not sure those interviews indicate that DT is demented or even dementing - he just sounds like someone dumb trying to sound intelligent. I think people hugely underestimate the intelligence of the average politician. They're pretty clever and articulate as a rule. Trump is just ordinary, plus a vast ego.

He's way below ordinary. Most people manage to string a sentence together.

The article linked on p1 concerning his (alleged) slide into dementia made a lot of sense to me.. but not because of what Scrotus said which is horribly worrying but what the author wrote about the tell tale, impossible-to-miss-if-you're-looking-for-it blank stares and haunted look in sufferers eyes.

I lost my Mum earlier this year to dementia and I can picture 'the look' so so clearly.

I don't know if he is ill and apparently we'll all get to see the results of his most recent medical - but there have been occasions in the last 11 months where he (to me) is unmistakably confused and blank and haunted - exactly like my Mum.

So many things get lost with dementia.

It may not even be dementia, but another neurological condition, or simply the effects of advancing age. I do feel somewhat that this an area we should be careful about discussing. Personally, I have a chronic neurological disease that, in part, affects my cognitive abilities and any scrutiny mortifies me (though I know I can’t help it).

Sorry, carry on, I don’t even know what I’m trying to say.

NEW: According to federal court filing made public today, the FBI has executed a search warrant on an e-mail address associated with Trump surrogate and former sheriff David A. Clarke Jr.

MORE: The search warrant executed on Clarke Jr. e-mail states that this investigation is a civil rights investigation into the detainment of a man who had flown on the same flight as Clarke Jr.

The FBI asserts that county auditors advised of emails from Clarke that purportedly pertained to the incident, leading to the search warrant

This indicates that a federal Judge found that there is good reason to believe that there were civil rights violations and that evidence of those violations existed on Sheriff Clarke’s email account. It strongly suggests he’s under criminal investigation.

There’s obviously a lot going on behind the scenes, but I’m dying to see some results. I want more Trump cronies in handcuffs. I want Trump’s crooked activities exposed so he can be called out on his anti-Hillary mudslinging. The world needs him to be gone, and all his crooked cronies and GOP opportunists with him.

bad I know the likes of bharara are cautioning against placing all your hope in mueller but whatever happens, he’s clearly uncovering things as last night’s news about the investigation focussing in on whether team trump helped Russians sow disinformation in key swing states shows. And that’s only what we know publically. It doesn’t mean this information will lead to handcuffs but at least it’s being investigated. I frequently think about how astonishing I found it that sessions bowed to pressure and recused himself and also that a special prosecutor was appointed with bipartisan approval. It’s not a helpful thing to say, I know, but it could have been worse, if there wasn’t someone looking into this at all.
