To pick up on the Star Trek motif.

I'm not so sure - his latest tweets sound.........tired. (Prepared to stand corrected of course.)

Happy New Year Trump watchers

The "it's a miracle" post on this thread series after the election surprise was my fave of 2017.

cozietoesie · 04/01/2018 22:00

You have me at a disadvantage. I don't remember that one. Smile

badbadhusky · 04/01/2018 22:01

Anyone else wondering if the release of the Woolf book is not entirely coincidental? This level of provocation, scrutiny and media ridicule is sure to rile Trump. Could throw up some interesting results in his medical on 12 January...

Amoregentlemanlikemanner · 04/01/2018 22:05

< doffs lazy hat and goes off to find post>

GingerIvy · 04/01/2018 22:06

Possibly another distraction.Time will tell.

badbadhusky · 04/01/2018 22:09

It’s very entertaining, even if it is a stinky old dead cat.

Lweji · 04/01/2018 22:23

I know the button thing was a million years ago only this week but...

I think the rift between Trump and Bannon is significant, though what real impact it will have is hard to say. Whatever Trump may now try and claim they were very much joined at the hip during and just after the campaign. Bannon was widely touted as a king maker. When he left the White House it was by no means certain that he had fallen so far from grace or that the split between him and Trump was so deep.

The fact that Bannon has been prepared to sit on this stuff while a book was written also demonstrates he is far better at holding back so as to deliver a more calculated revenge than Trump (who would have tweeted every bit of this month's before publication). I wouldn't be surprised if he has more to say on this as things progress.

If nothing else, it is well worth some popcorn. I will never get bored of watching Nazis punch each other repeatedly in the face. Grin

ginandtonicformeplease · 04/01/2018 22:29

Long time lurker here. I don't know how you keep up with it all.

Just seen buried in the Washington Post that Bannon is considering suing Trump:

cozietoesie · 04/01/2018 22:34

As I said upthread somewhere, 45 doesn't have the best lawyers. Smile

badbadhusky · 04/01/2018 22:35

Ginandtonic - you may not post often, but you’ve been prolific in the last 5 mins. Wink

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 04/01/2018 22:36

bigly Grin

gin gosh, this is escalating deteriorating fast!

Lweji · 04/01/2018 22:37

As I said upthread somewhere, 45 doesn't have the best lawyers.

He scares them or annoys them away.

Plus, does he really have the cash to pay them? Hmm
Tax returns!

cozietoesie · 04/01/2018 22:37

I suspect the Mercers of 'getting out of politics generally'. That last donation they reportedly made was just weird.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 04/01/2018 22:41

Apologies if already posted

Among Michael Wolff’s most explosive revelations: Trump's legal spokesman quit upon concluding he’d personally witnessed President Trump obstructing justice on Air Force One:

cozietoesie · 04/01/2018 22:42

Ah Yes. Ms Maddow noticed that one. (Although I think it was the spokesman for 45's lawyer or some such.) Smile

badbadhusky · 04/01/2018 22:44

The shit seems to be hitting the fan at increasing velocity. Will Trump see his first year out, or strop off stage left in the next 3 weeks?

cozietoesie · 04/01/2018 22:46

I just hope that we get that far. As a planet.

badbadhusky · 04/01/2018 22:48

Amen to that Cozie.

PerkingFaintly · 04/01/2018 22:50

And yes yes, I know there's a danger in getting drawn into the gossipy shock schlock emanating from the White House - quite agree with Maddow that treating 45 like a silent movie and watching what he does is usually more important.

But this is the architects of the current regime setting each other on fire. In public. Grin And flushing the billionaires out in public too.

End of the beginning?

Lweji · 04/01/2018 22:53

Almost like the French Revolution where pretty much everyone ended up losing their heads. Or murdered.

cozietoesie · 04/01/2018 22:53

I think it's a bit more than that.

But I've been wrong before.
