Love chatting about presents. I'm nosy.Blush also can't sleep.

We set a low cap on our presents for each other as saving for a house but DP got me the loveliest, most thoughtful gifts. The main one being that he's adopted me some red pandas and we get to go and visit them whenever we like next year!
As you can see by username I bloody love red pandas. Also have ginger hair so he used to call me red panda when we first met.

Other favourite things were for my daughter - a gorgeous homemade gift from SIL and looovely fluffy joggers from baby Gap from DPs parents.

Presents aren't everything but they really are nice!

Really hope others had a lovely day and got something nice that made them smile.

A nurses watch. Iv been accepted in to one of my top choice unis and have an interview at the other in January so either way come September Im going to be a student nurse.
It's like a miniature pocket watch, perfectly detailed and has my name on it. I love it

I received some gorgeous gifts, DH is always thoughtful at buying Christmas presents.

One of the most surprising and lovely was a bottle of pink gin from my DSS. He's 22 and I've been his stepmum for over 16 years but is the first year he's bought me a Christmas present. Previously DH has bought gifts for me from all of the boys or DSS has got us a family gift, which have been lovely, but it was nice that he'd bought me something for me.

I love seeing people's faces when they open a surprise gift they love.

2gorgeousboys · 26/12/2017 12:17

I also got a voucher for afternoon tea from DH which is so thoughtful as two of my closest friends got the same off their husbands so we can go out and enjoy ourselves together (I'm sure afternoon tea will turn into cocktails later!)

Rubyslippers7780 · 26/12/2017 12:20

A pair of odd shoes. I love them

CakeNinja · 26/12/2017 12:20

NoFucks, that’s really lovely, good luck!
And 2, that’s so thoughtful of him Xmas Smile

GrouchyKiwi · 26/12/2017 12:21

DH got me a New Zealand calendar. Which sounds like a boring gift, but it's the most thoughtful thing he has ever done. My grandmother died nearly two weeks ago, and she usually gave me an NZ calendar. When she went into hospital DH asked my mother whether Grandma had managed to send a calendar, and as she hadn't he made sure I got one.

RedPandaMama · 26/12/2017 12:28

Oh this is so lovely to read.

The poster who got the maternity calendar with all the dates of local mum and baby groups - I think your partner wins the thoughtful award, that's just lovely.

I got Molton brown shower gel which is my fave and I’m too tight to buy it myself. Cat PJs, primark vests which I’m desperate for and a Mulberry Lily which has been on my wish list for ages! Very happy

cherryontopp · 26/12/2017 12:38

Time

Time off from rushing around to spend with my lovely family

DontCallMeBaby · 26/12/2017 12:55

I think my favourite is a little tin containing stroopwafels (the caramel ones you put on your cuppa). Not only do a have stroopwafels, which is always good, I have a stroopwafel storage solution. Smile

RedPandaMama · 26/12/2017 13:00

DontCallMeBaby oh stroopwaffles are bloody delicious but we always have the issue that their packaging is rubbish so they go stale and sticky in the cupboard. Sounds like the perfect gift!

ExDP (were still very good friends) came 300 miles to stay for Christmas, and brought with him a jo malone bath set and candle, a white company dressing gown, chocolate, a bottle of sloe gin, and a promise to keep our toddler DS busy and happy, for as long as I need to indulge in all of the above in the bathroom.

And a beautiful journal (I collect stationary).

I was touched to see how much he still cares for me (and DS, obviously).

Quickerthanavicar · 26/12/2017 13:06

My favourite thing was visiting my friend in hospital. Not that she is in hospital you understand. Went with DP, just us, no in laws.
Hospital parking was free, lovely nurses greeted us warmly, my friend in side room with no decorations and was delighted to see us. Had a lovely grown-up conversation. People smiled at us as we left and said Happy Christmas to each other.
And the Christmas dinner they were cooking smelt fantastic.

NCedForThis · 26/12/2017 15:38

Last week I sent a “woe is me, pissed off at the world” text to a friend of mine, along the lines of “can’t be bloody arsed with this, it’s one thing after another, I so wanted to start this year debt free but because of X I can’t, unless I can magic up £XXXX in a week, I’m fine I’m just really tired”

It was all very pathetic and woe is me which is unusual for me!...Turns out I accidentally sent it to my old boss with the same name (I nannyed for them for over 5y and we’re still v close), I was mortified and sent a rambling message which she didn’t answer.

I got a card on Xmas eve with a cheque for that amount in and a note that said “nothing will ever be enough to thank you for bringing our children up so well but we hope you can start this year how you deserve it to go on, worry free and knowing how loved you are”

I’m still crying!

WheelyCote · 26/12/2017 15:54

Oh Wow !!!!!

Partridgeinabeartree · 26/12/2017 15:55

A griddle pan for my induction hob.

A bart hat, it's a woolly hat that the shades remind me of a sun set

Gibble1 · 26/12/2017 16:07

Ncedforthis... that made me blub. What a lovely gift.

wrenika · 26/12/2017 16:43

My favourite present was a kitchenaid artisan mixer in lovely, glossy red. I did pick this though...I was going to buy it in the black friday sales and my mum said she'd get it for my christmas.

I adopted a seahorse for myself, since it's as I can get right now. (I have a long term desire to own seahorses but I need to learn a lot more before I can make that commitment)

DP got me some wonderful books and we generally had a great day lazing around, eating good food and reading!
