Bad things that have happened today

Last night me and dh argued. Then when we were in bed, in the middle of the night he dreamt he was playing football and kneed me hard up the bottom
Then this morning, 6 year old ds snuck down and opened up all his presents sigh*
Before everyone else was up..Cue upset.
Then the thing that was supposed to install in seconds took 2 and a half hours to build
Tell me its not just me....care to share your bad Christmas day stories?

Not a massive one but I've woken up today with a filthy cold and am staying at ILS. MIL is illness phobic and I can't hide in bed forever...she will go mental at me bringing germs into her house. Clearly not my fault as I didn't know yesterday when we turned up that I'd be poorly today!

Adarajames you are a great person to be spending your Christmas caring for everyone else and I'm sorry you had such a sad time. I wish you a very happy 2018 and thanks for being such a lovely caring human being.

Given all the other crap I wrote about yesterday, I’ve also woken with a cold. 😩

I'm so sorry for the loss of your ginger cat, Topseyt. I love gingers - they have so much personality! I was inconsolable when we had to have our ginger cat put to sleep a few years ago. Hugs to you!!

DH and I had a massive argument about rude ILs - Pils are obsessed with Sil and her family - and spoke about them incessently for the whole time we visited yesterday, showing no interest in DS (or DH!).
I upset DS over this and have spoiled his Christmas as he keeps asking if everything is ok and if we're having a good Christmas time.
On top of that I have toothache and sinusitus and have to have root canal on Thursday.
We had a great evening playing boardgames and chatting tonight but I wish I could keep my mouth shut as I don't see Ils very often anyway.

We were hosting Christmas and didn't want to ruin it by disappearing to A&E. I know it sounds stupid, but my parents really deserved a good Christmas. They are so good to us.

Ringing Dr first thing tomorrow as I'm still feeling terrible but at least the red line seems to have gone down

Not a bad Christmas day story, but a bad boxing day one - my lovely MIL died on the morning of boxing day. Her and FIL (married for over 50 years) have been there for us for many years and she will be greatly missed, they have done things like helped pay for our wedding, helped out with expensive car repairs, particularly after DH was made redundant and we just couldn't afford it etc. MIL took time off work when our children were born and came over every day to help out, made meals, ironed etc. She was great, and will always be remembered by me in that way.
Sorry to bring you all down, I am just thankful I had such a lovely MIL. There are many people out there who have awful ILs, I wish I could have shared mine with you to let you all see how nice some of them can be.

Sadly we are NC with my MIL but I do have a wonderful FIL who I love very much. I wish I had a MIL like yours
