Last night me and dh argued. Then when we were in bed, in the middle of the night he dreamt he was playing football and kneed me hard up the bottom Angry
Then this morning, 6 year old ds snuck down and opened up all his presents sigh*
Before everyone else was up..Cue upset.
Then the thing that was supposed to install in seconds took 2 and a half hours to build Hmm
Tell me its not just me....care to share your bad Christmas day stories?

P.S. Grrr we've postponed Christmas pudding, further chocolate, and any more new presents till tomorrow. An extended Christmas Day may be just what the doctor ordered.

Andrewofgg · 25/12/2017 16:29

Mains water off.

Now restored.

Sairelou · 25/12/2017 16:38

I've got some kind of horrible fluey/throaty thing. Spent the majority of the afternoon shivering on the sofa under a blanket, feeling sorry for myself whilst everyone else eats lovely food and the kids play with their toys Sad

brizzledrizzle · 25/12/2017 16:39

Doing laundry this morning and the machine leaked all over the floor, one dc is being sick for the third day in a row but we are lucky as it's not a big deal.

CesareBorgiasSkeletonOnesie · 25/12/2017 16:40

Chilli and lime milk chocolate is possibly the most fucking disgusting thing I've ever eaten. And my mother is pissed off because I wanted to watch DS open his presents earlier instead of listen to her moan down the phone at me about how my dsis and her wife are doing Christmas day wrong (they're hosting her). Other than that things could definitely be worse, so Flowers for everyone having a crap time.

Tobebythesea · 25/12/2017 16:45

I have a vomiting bug 🤢

Bunglecunt · 25/12/2017 16:55

Topseyt so sorry for your loss Thanks

Missingpate · 25/12/2017 16:56

I'm still getting over the evil flu that's going round, dp has come down with it just and spent the day in bed, and ds was very upset with earache earlier but thankfully the calpol kicked in for him. Otherwise lovely day with lovely parents but this is a bastard flu and feel very sorry for poor dp.

SoCockneyItHurts · 25/12/2017 17:00

Spent all morning making Christmas dinner for everyone.....sat down to eat and champagne glass was wet with condensation. Slipped out my hand, smashed on my plate shattering glass and champagne all over my dinner. DH pissed off with me as if it was my fault for ruining dinner. He gone to.bed......I've poured a vodka.....cheers xx

HellToupee · 25/12/2017 17:03

I’m I’ll with this bastard flu that’s going around, friend bailed since she “really couldn’t do with being ill”, I cooked a full Xmas lunch which I managed 1 bit of roast beef of, DC managed to argue at the table.

Cue them stomping off to their rooms and me sitting at the table in tears. Merry fucking Christmas waaaaaaaaaaaaah!

StrangeLookingParasite · 25/12/2017 17:03

Topseyt, I'm so sorry. Poor boy and poor you.

TeddyIsaHe · 25/12/2017 17:15

DP and I had an argument the day before Xmas eve and he refused to speak to me yesterday and refused to spend today with me and his Dd. She’s 11 months so our first Christmas together. Haven’t had our Christmas breakfast or lunch that we’d been planning for weeks.

Feeling rather sorry for myself at the minute.

Annelind · 25/12/2017 17:28

Oh Teddy! that's horrible. You need to nip these mantrums in the bud, somehow.

Fevertree · 25/12/2017 17:31

MiL was taken into hospital yesterday with a perforated bowel courtesy of her chemotherapy treatment. 😢 husband very sad today but trying to hide it. X

Katkincake · 25/12/2017 17:34

Mine hasn't been the best. FIL ill in hospital all week & passed away yesterday afternoon. SIL stopped with us last week and is still with us now, unplanned. Really need a break to recharge but she's with us till weds as came to us by train and lives 100s miles away, so is stuck here. Want my house back to slob around in PJs and eat food and drink with abandon as she doesn't drink or eat much.

Oven broke halfway through dinner but managed to get it fixed. Otherwise a nice day but I'm sure DHs sadness will kick in soon. Definitely not one of our best Christmasses.

MrsHarveySpecterV · 25/12/2017 17:35

Not as bad as some posters but here we go...I'm pregnant and on my fifth week of having rhinitis. DC1 (aged 3) has been so excited for Christmas so I thought it would be our first 'magical' one, she has been horrible all day, wouldn't say Merry Christmas to anyone, mean to her little brother who has cried and whined all day. My head feels like it's going to explode and I can't even have a drink!

N2986 · 25/12/2017 17:50

Me and dd1 both feel like death- ear and throat thingy. Totally put a damper on the day, counting down till bedtime...

Desperada1234 · 25/12/2017 17:52

Dp is 1,000 miles away and has not bothered to send me any kind of message. Tells me all I need to know about how lovable I am.

welshmist · 25/12/2017 18:00

Just walked out on xmas at my sons, DIL sister threw a major melt down over something her dad had said. Ruined the whole afternoon, son and DIL vanished upstairs leaving us with said Father. When they came down said Father had been thoughtless, never mind sister throws a mini strop over everything. I had washed up, tidied up just said lightly I think sister who is now in the bath recovering was a major PITA had DIL defended her so I just got my coat and walked home.

I should say I was already upset over other son who we never see at xmas because of other DIL`s parents come first. Even though they rarely look after the grand children.

Feeling very sorry for myself, coz it is me who child minds, baby sits, and puts up with all the shit for 364 days of the year so is it too much to ask that on this day there is peace on earth...

My Mother was a pro. narcissisist at fucking up every xmas when I was a child and a parent, so I am pretty thin skinned about family dramatics on xmas day.

Sorry to vent, but am sat here alone, crying....

MycatsaPirate · 25/12/2017 18:00

topseyt Oh I am so, so sorry about your cat, that's heartbreaking :(

There seems to be an awful lot of vomiting stories on this thread which matches up with my facebook feed and other social media stuff I've been on. Glad it's has (so far) evaded us.

The worst thing today was as we were all sitting down to eat, one of the cats came iinto the room and just puked all over the floor in front of SIL and BIL. Thankfully they are cat people and weren't offended or put out but really, thanks Felix!!

massi71 · 25/12/2017 18:08

This morning I decided to dye my black hair with manic panic "after midnight" because I love blue black hair on me.

Used gloves to apply.

Fucked up and didn't wear gloves to rinse.

Showered. Instead of head over the side.

Needed scouring pad and head and shoulders to scrub my Smurf blue body after.

Oh and we went out to a big Christmas do.

Palms still have navy tinge.

Everyone in my neck of the woods seems to have the same chest infection as me, including one woman (who I don't know but posted on a local page) who has got antibiotics and steroids from someone else in the group without seeing a doctor as far as I can see.

Paddingtonthebear · 25/12/2017 18:10

A friend passed away this morning. Small child now without a mum.

Puts it all in perspective really

drspouse · 25/12/2017 18:11

Oh that's awful Paddington
