Last night me and dh argued. Then when we were in bed, in the middle of the night he dreamt he was playing football and kneed me hard up the bottom Angry
Then this morning, 6 year old ds snuck down and opened up all his presents sigh*
Before everyone else was up..Cue upset.
Then the thing that was supposed to install in seconds took 2 and a half hours to build Hmm
Tell me its not just me....care to share your bad Christmas day stories?

Nice day here DD 2 & 3 plus their boyfriends cooked dinner never done it before, took some time but it was superb:-)

Also first Xmas for baby grandson who behaved impecibilly all day bless him he's such a smiling cotented babe:_

Sleeps from 11 to 7 sometimes 8 in his own bed now!

AngeloMysterioso · 26/12/2017 01:34

I ended the day with my head in the toilet chez PIL being sick! Not sure why, just too much rich food over the last few days I guess.

Elllicam · 26/12/2017 01:35

My baby full on projectile vomited on my head.

RustyPaperclips · 26/12/2017 01:42

My Christmas nail manicure seems to have gone really wrong. My fingers are red, swollen and weeping pus. So incredibly painful and also have swollen glands and feel quite hot and faint. Along with a slightly worrying red line along my hand.

Suspect I need to go to a walk in clinic tomorrow (if any are open) but not sure if I'm overreacting. Currently bathing in TCP and Germolene

RustyPaperclips · 26/12/2017 01:43

Sorry, first world problems but am feeling very sorry for myself

honeysucklejasmine · 26/12/2017 01:43

justaboy think you're on the wrong thread.

Mostly ok but baby ds has been cluster feeding all day, (and most of his life, frankly) and DD becomingly increasingly terrible two to garner attention. I'm doing my best but I feel like I'll always be failing one of them. Sad DS is 13 weeks old and showing no signs of going longer between feeds.

LimpidPools · 26/12/2017 02:25

You are not overreacting Paperclip!

That sounds awful and potentially very dangerous. Make sure you see a doctor as early as possible tomorrow. You sound really quite unwell and in danger of developing septicaemia.

WellAlwaysHaveParis · 26/12/2017 02:28

Oh god Paperclip! That sounds horrific :( I'm so sorry! Do try and find if any out-of-hours places will see you tomorrow. I hope you're on the mend soon Flowers

Adarajames · 26/12/2017 03:05

One of our shelter guests was found dead in his bed this morning; least he was warm and fed and cared about for last few days and there were people to notice he'd died and try to save him and he didn't die alone and cold and unnoticed on the street, but those involved had an upsetting day and will struggle to process it for a while. Also had to call ambulance for elderly gentleman who collapsed at church in early hours , but hopefully he'll be ok.
Family celebrating tomorrow which will hopefully be relaxed, fun and great food, before back to the shelter and trying to bring some happiness to our other guests who spend most of their time without anyone treating them like humans or caring about them, and hoping it's a calmer rest of the week without any other upsetting traumas

meanapparently · 26/12/2017 03:32

I've had flu since Wednesday last and spent the whole day in bed.
I haven't had Christmas Dinner or pulled a single cracker.
I haven't see my ds since Wednesday either.
My presents were thoughtless and generic.
The cat has just woken me up yowling at the window.
My chronic tinnitus is blasting
I'm already scared of next year and what it might bring.

Lweji · 26/12/2017 03:35

Nothing too bad.
Only really DS who got up in the early hours and was sick (possibly due to the chocolates he ate when he got home). Now in my bed and I can't sleep.

Sparrowlegs248 · 26/12/2017 03:44

Both ds's have finally come down the the awful cold I've had for a fortnight. 10 month old had high temperature Xmas eve. He's been very good all day but is very to restless now and I think he might have croup.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 26/12/2017 03:52

Bloody hell Paperclip! That sounds scary. I had a friend wake up one morning and be concerned about the rash on her thigh, but not concerned enough to get it checked out. She was dead before bedtime the same day. Such a shock!

Please get it checked asap - red tracking lines = sepsis.

MagentaRose72 · 26/12/2017 03:54

BIL got stuck in loo, don't know how the lock jammed, but DH had to saw the lock. In the time it took DH (who had been drinking) to find the right tools, BIL was having a panic attack and trying to kick his way out :/ When he finally got out he ranted at his wife (who started crying and so did MIL) because he heard her laughing (we did laugh at first, before we realised how stuck he was and that he would have a panic attack...
Meanwhile I was doing turkey business, offering solace and hot drinks...by the time dinner was served, the drama seemed forgotten, fortunately.

Additionally, my dear GS is in a country far away and I'm missing his first Christmas... but thanks God for video phones!!

frankie001 · 26/12/2017 04:08

Downstairs toilet is leaking and now niece is unwell with a temp of 39 and feeling like shit. She doesn’t often feel ill and is annoyed that “her immune system has let her down”!

Mishmishmish · 26/12/2017 04:24

I had a tummy bug on Xmas eve and was vomiting all night. Couldn't eat a thing in Xmas day and I love the food and all the trimmings!

honeysucklejasmine · 26/12/2017 05:18

Paperclips please see a doctor as soon as possible! I hope you've taken yourself off to A&E already.

QOD · 26/12/2017 05:48

I couldn’t eat hardly anything, no alcohol and temperature of 101/38.3
Shivering all day, coughing and oee’ing myself and sooooo full of snot
Crappy day lol
Dh has got the ‘actually’s’ which he’s renowned for
Actually my chest feels tight
Actually I’m feeling warm
Actually ... 🙄🙄

NukaColaGirl · 26/12/2017 06:31

I’m not well - very bad cold and headache, nothing in the house to take for it, Single Mum to 3DC, house is a shit tip, don’t even know where to start - all boxes etc need breaking down, new things putting away, floors need hoovering and mopping, fuck tonne of laundry to put away, my bedroom looks like a bombs gone off as I shoved everything in there in an attempt to make the rest of the house look decent, and my period started today so I have awful stomach cramps too.

Almost 2 year old went down for a nap yesterday at 2:30pm (after eldest DC went to their Dads) , I lay in bed reading a book... We both didn’t wake till 9pm. She woke up asking for breakfast and stayed awake till midnight, but then woke every hour till 5am.

Was alone with all DC yesterday and will be alone just me and DD today. So no different to any other day.

MardAsSnails · 26/12/2017 06:40

Nothing too disastrous but still feeling like crap.

Was wrapping up presents later on on Christmas Eve. Realized we couldn't find a present for new nephew (who is 3 weeks old so doesn't give a shit himself). After tearing the place apart we realize it's probably wrapped in another present. Didn't have any more paper to start unwrapping stuff.

Told SIL (baby's mum) when we dropped their pressies off, that it would turn up somewhere and we'll drop it off when we find it. She laughed and said no problem. She told BIL (DHs DB) after we'd left. Dropped off presents to his family and explained the same. They all laughed and said no problem.

Turns out it got wrapped in FILs jumper. Who saw it, and assumed the jumper was a present for his son. Apparently stropped for a while as we therefore hadn't bought him anything. MIL pointed out that a medium jumper must be for him, as BIL wears XL.

BIL then had a strop and sent a few butchy messages to DH as we had forgotten to buy anything for his first born, how could we etc etc.

M&FIL then decided that the presence of the baby clothes in their present was our pregnancy announcement, and rang all their extended family to tell them. We got multiple messages before we knew any of this, with people soooooooo over the moon for us as we've been married sooooooo long without children.

All MIL said when we rang and asked WTF was 'oh yes I remember now, oh I am silly aren't i'

The only apology anyone has given us is SIL, who ended up rowing with BIL when trying to explain that's she'd told him this had happened the night before, and trying to stop him sending messages to us.

I'm glad I live 000s of miles away

WaitingForSunday17 · 26/12/2017 06:52

DD is full of cold.
I'm diabetic and my pump set failed yesterday at 12pm so my blood sugar rocketed and I couldn't eat anything so only had a piece of toast all day and had to sit and watch everyone else eat Christmas lunch and I couldn't have anything.

2014: norovirus
2015: prem baby on a ventilator in NICU
2016: dh with tooth infection in wisdom tooth. Lay on sofa snapping at anyone who came near him. Gran very ill and does the following week.

I'm so over Christmas. I've resigned myself to us never having a nice one again!

WaitingForSunday17 · 26/12/2017 06:53

died

cherrycola2004 · 26/12/2017 07:00

@WaitingForSunday17 no pump fails here now I got rid but I had an awful blood sugar day too even though I barely ate Thanks

StylishDuck · 26/12/2017 07:09

Heavily pregnant and spent all of Christmas Eve night awake either throwing up or getting braxton hicks and convincing myself I was going into labour. As a result I was like a zombie all of Christmas Day, extremely uncomfortable so couldn't enjoy my dinner and there's still no sign of baby Angry

This is nothing compared to some of you though Thanks

monkeysee100 · 26/12/2017 07:58

Sibling in a and e, her twat of a bf in general, two massive dog accidents, dogs slightly scalded hanging around under sink. Dc1 being quite a pain, ILs (I've posted a whole thread there!) and DH and I nearly coming to blows over meat hygiene!!! Angry
