£10 secret Santa

A pair of thermal socks and a box of chocolates.

What would you think of this?

I'd be very happy.

Everyone wears socks and (almost) everyone eats chocolate. I think most of us would rather have something yummy and useful than euneek or cree8tiv.

Secret Santa is so tricky. I'd prefer something practical like socks to some novelty crap that goes straight in the bin.

I got a book this year on a subject that I'm fascinated in, I was thrilled.
Someone else got a lovely mug with their initial on (from Anthropologie I suspect) and they were really pleased to have their own office mug.
The generic Dove gift sets didn't go down so well and the whoopie cushion didn't make it out of the pub.

SS is buying for buying's sake. It's an okay gift. But honestly, why don't people just give the money? Or not do it? It's so often utterly shite, novelty crap that goes in the bin, inappropriate or even insulting.

But maybe the socks weren't bought in B&M. Everything I've ever bought there has been shit. Their thermal socks may be excellent but I'd never know as I've stopped going there.

I’d be thrilled I love thermal socks I live in a new building black of flats who decided to put in electric heaters rather then central heating so I get cold feet.

For me that would be great. I'm always freezing and I love chocolate!

I'd be happy. My feet are always cold! Chocolate is always a winner except for diabetics!

I got given an 'I love cock' mug and a bell with 'ring for tea' on it. Made me 😂 but thats the sort of humour we have in our office.

I'd love that for Christmas. It's actually what I asked for last year!

I got my DH's Secret Santa some gloves & warm socks (his idea about the gloves I was going shopping anyway), she had put as an idea something warm... apparently she thinks they are fantastic!

At least he’s bought something. I didn’t get anything when we did ours. Not sure what happened.

I was told £10-15 one year.
I spent £15 and got in return one of those mega small boxes of Thorntons chocs that cost £3!
I was very unimpressed.
Thermal socks is always a good!!!!

And my husband bought his recipient a magazine and two betting slips for two events in 2018. If the bets win (I think they were sporting events) then the recipient could win £35k. Could be the best secret Santa anyone gets..

Perhaps next year be slightly more adventurous and source some chocolate socks and thermal chocolates OP.

I got this actual present last year. I thought it was pretty dull to be honest! This year I got a diary though, and on balance would prefer socks and chocs over that!

DD1 got chocolate and a pineapple.

I'd be thrilled with socks, can never find a pair when I need them!
