When we do our Secret Santa at work, we each write up 3 ideas of things we'd like. Maybe you can post that idea in the company suggestion box but, to be honest, most people at our place put socks, chocolate or wine so I can't understand what your problem is.

Nice and safe gift. Better than my work birthday presents.

A pen and work organiser (I only have these because people keep sodding buying them and now I need to pretend to appreciate it), dark chocolates (I'm allergic) and a scent diffuser that reeks to high heaven.

Doesn't sound very personal or imaginative.

We did ours last week and 12 out of 14 were very specific to the person, which shows people care and take an interest.

The other two were... boring chocolates!

I guess it depends how big your team is as to how well u know the person

Sounds good, I once got nothing for secret santa with no explanation. I'd love something to keep my feet warm and my mouth sweet!

It is a nice safe gift. It is a million times better than mine where someone took the time and trouble to buy something they know I hate.

It’s rather generic but I’d be happy with that. I hate being cold / having cold feet (staying warm is a bit of an adventure in our house...)

I’m a bit picky with chocolate but DH would eat it.

Inoffensive, fine, just seems like a waste of a tenner to me. I don't get what's fun about that. Very glad we don't bother in my work.

I love cozy socks and chocolates. Also scented soaps and blank journals. I am a dream generic secret Santa recipient. Maybe I’m easy to please but that sounds good to me.

I think it depends. If it's for a close colleague and he knows their tastes and interests it's a bit bland and impersonal, but if it's for some randomer he never talks to it's a good choice!
