£10 secret Santa

A pair of thermal socks and a box of chocolates.

What would you think of this?

I’m neither giver or receiver!

Dh and I work at same place and he, of course, was rushing at last minute to get his present!

I did think it was a bit dull but he was so pleased with his shopping!

Just wanted to check if people would be happyish!

I would be happy with that. Just got socks and mints in my Secret Santa and was very pleased!

ManchesterGin · 19/12/2017 22:45

I'd be pretty happy with that

Xoticdreamz · 19/12/2017 22:50

I think that's a nice one . My last two years have been shit. A disgusting " vintage " rusty old manicure set that had been in a basement for 30 years and this year a very dirty travel cup with an owl organiser set . I did though get some nice soap that I liked. I never luck out on these things😬

Topseyt · 19/12/2017 22:51

It really is fine. What marvel should he have got for a £10?

Sounds to me as if he has done quite well.

LaurieFairyCake · 19/12/2017 22:54

Dh's is tomorrow. I made a cheeseboard out of oak from an ancient tree we had to trim and pyrographied her name on it. And added a Yankee candle.

Hopefully this woman who I've never met will be happy with it.

illustrious · 19/12/2017 22:54

Could have been worse. Some arse at work gave me a vibrating cock ring. Am female. And gay.

LassWiTheDelicateAir · 19/12/2017 22:54

It is generic but 99.9% of recipients would be happy with it. I would. It is a gazillion times better than what I got.

And the tiny percentage who might not like could not possibly be offended by it.

PopGoesTheWeaz · 19/12/2017 22:56

better than the joke tat that I got that is literally going straight to the charity shop.

HolyShet · 19/12/2017 22:56

wire cutters and a balaclava

LizzieSiddal · 19/12/2017 22:57

I'd love that.

Something useful and something to eat!

StaplesCorner · 19/12/2017 22:58

Laurie Where did you get ancient tree trimmings from? John Lewis?

QueenNefertitty · 19/12/2017 22:58

I got a gingerbread man shaped mug and cheap hot chocolate for my £10 secret santa today.

I hate novelty mugs and I hate hot chocolate.

Thermal socks would have been delightful.

notangelinajolie · 19/12/2017 23:00

Sounds good to me. My feet are permanently cold and I never say no to chocolate.

StarWarsFanatic · 19/12/2017 23:02

I always ask for socks from Secret Santa. You can never have enough :)

MerlinsScarf · 19/12/2017 23:04

I would be really happy with that. When my DH and I have drawn the name of someone we don't know well, we pick similar things on the basis that they're not tat, not offensive and if not to the recipient's taste they can easily pass them on, share the chocolates with visitors etc.

AdoraBell · 19/12/2017 23:05

Perfect.

Maddy70 · 19/12/2017 23:06

I would like that present tbh

CandleWithHair · 19/12/2017 23:07

Is Laurie Kirsty Allsop in disguise?!?

MammaTJ · 19/12/2017 23:07

My DP drew himself in the Secret Santa draw, and kept his gob shut. He doesn't know what to buy himself! Grin

Candlelight234 · 19/12/2017 23:08

I would be happy with that, then again I'd be happy with anything. I got sod all today for our secret Santa, as my nominated person 'forgot' to bring by mine in Hmm

purpleflower23 · 19/12/2017 23:09

Sounds perfect! I usually get a bottle of wine (I don't drink...)

EastMidsMummy · 19/12/2017 23:10

I made a cheeseboard out of oak from an ancient tree we had to trim and pyrographied her name on it.

Run for your lives! It's a home made present!

LaurieFairyCake · 19/12/2017 23:10

There was a 400 year old oak in our garden before we moved that we had to chop a branch off - I madly moved with it to my new house Grin

phoenix1973 · 19/12/2017 23:11

Just the good chocs would do me. No to the socks.
Worst secret santa present I received was a bottle of wine. Even worse, my partner advised my buyer on what to buy! He's known me for 21 years ffs. I can take of leave alcoholbut I love sweet treats.
